Really usefull information for me as an athelete, because Joe said I always focus on the peak bar speed, not on the weight! Try to move barbell as fast as possible!
Hey John, do u think plyometrics are really necessary to jump higher? I'm 16yo 31-33 inch vert and im planning to get a 40 inch vertical over time, isn't weightlifting and lots of dunk sessions enough to get there?
Depends what cycle your in probably. If your in a strength cycle, your probably fine with just jumping but in a more elastic cycle it will benefit you to do other plyos like quicker jumps or bounds etc
Hi john, I have a question about training, let's say in 1 workout you do a squat, after it there is usually an exercise for the biceps of the thigh, (rdl, hamstring curl) do you need to add rdl / hamstring curl after the deadlift, because the deadlift involves more back hip surface rather than a squat, does it make sense to load the back of the thigh after the deadlift (sry for google translete)
Hey Isaiah great podcast. I would love to know something..I can dunk two tomohawk and most of the other simple dunks am on close to windmillin so I do pylos Olympic lifting Deadlifts and heavy squats 3 times a week do you think I should distribute it and train them everyday
Glad to have the podcast back!!!

For what it’s worth, I never did plyos until 6-7 years into my jump training
