In the Lambo guy's defense, he was told the other car only had 500 HP so that was kinda """cheating""". But then again, if someone with a 500 HP car has enough confidence to race you in your Lamborghini, you need to be skeptical too cuz the other guy probably has a trick up their sleeve.

In the lambo owners defence, it wasn’t his car to begin with, the ACTUAL owner of the lambo was well aware of power that GTR was pushing, the reason he knows that is because the owner of the lambo was in the drivers seat of the GTR. It was a set up video for 1320.

I think super car owners are very aware of the fact that you can build a car faster for much cheaper, but you don’t buy a super car just to drag race it, you buy it for the experience, the beautiful noise of the engine, the work of art the car is
Not one car that won a race, in this video could beat the other car on anything other than a straight away. Building something to go fast in a straight line is not as hard as engineering and building something that can do it all and look good doing it.
Seriously. Like do you hear how cocky the bros are in the supra against the 458 Italia. Like The 458 isn’t a hypercar or anything. You aren't gonna be seeing this shit on the actual roads so that really doesn't matter as much. Even the ones you do see on roads, highways and freeways are straight lines
On the street, most races are straight lined. With that said, when car are being tested for performance, they are being tested in braking, acceleration, and handling. Now and days alot of manufactors are testing cars at the Nuburgring. If your car can not beat a super car in those areas, then I don't believe you should be making a claim that your car is faster than a super car. I respect what the owner has built, and it is fast, but the claim to me is far fetched.
NOT that much cheaper. That CIVIC has likely about 150 k to 250k of mods in it, if you add it all up. That's probably a 1200 hp + CIVIC with special drivetrain, axes, etc. The quicker the cars, the more expensive the mods become. Also they spend more time being rebuilt and maintained, than being driven on the street. Also most all those modified cars are "only good" for straight line acceleration, the quarter mile. Not handling a road course or even going for top speed.

I had a 92 Mustang coupe making 780hp and i only lost a few races to cars that were better built than mine. If i raced for money the money was placed in with a neutral party before the race. If a guy had tried to take his money back it would been bad for him.
That last civic was fast but it did cross the line.

It's called torque steer, a byproduct of front wheel drive. He had to back pedal so he wouldn't runover the spectators.

I have a GT3RS. I have done many pulls against a GT-R. It absolutely demolishes me every time. But I am not humbled. I love my car, and racing the GT-R was a super fun, regardless of the fact that I lost big time. I'm not sure what makes you think I would be humbled by it though.

@@MikeyG003 Which people don't understand that? Seems like it should be pretty obvious to anyone who understands cars. It DOES hook pretty good though, thanks to the engine being over the rear wheels and it not having super duper amounts of torque.

GT3RS is not made for drag strips… it’s for tracking. I would use the 992 Turbo S for that or the GT2RS… But the gt3RS is a badass car and much more rare.

I usually just ignore these guys in less expensive cars who want to race me because there is no upside in me winning but quite a few downsides in racing them and losing. Most of these guys drive reckless in traffic and don't care about, themselves, their car, you or the public! I'm happy to drive and enjoy my car by myself!

farm truck I have seen this truck personally at 2K that thing is a full blown racing machine. It is a complete tubular chassis frame with all the racing components. You could think of with a cheap body sitting on top of a and $150,000 chassis.
But it still warms my heart when some big-money joker gets humbled by that truck...and, I am a Ford guy.

Nope, 500bhp in stripped light weight car is equivalent of 800hp in regular car. It's all about power to weight ratio, nothing more.

@@wykydytron and no one actually into cars will tell you BHP. They will give you WHP. 500 BHP is a low to mid 400 HP to the wheels and in that car, not beating that Lambo.
Hurcan weights almost 3640 and puts 530 to the wheels stock. That r32 skyline is light around 2900 pounds and with a sequential trans that keeps the car on boost and in its power band plus it had anti lag. That gtr could have had 450whp and it still wins easy. Those r32 are not heavy pigs like the r35 are .

And five minute Civic did well against the blue Porsche to hold it as a tie to the cone, as those Porsche have great launch control.
But at the end of the day, none of it is particularly interesting in the sht boxes, as at least some of those super cars will go round a track well - much more fun IMO. And if I want a thrill, I’ll get the bike out, which doubles up on freedom.
Ten percent.... I'm throwing the bullshit flag your way. I guarantee you that CIVIC is BIG BUCKS. You could not build that for under 150 K, and have it tuned to race, and its probably MORE than 150 k. That FARM TRUCK is very conservatively sitting on a 150,000 dollar tubular Racing set-up. Its from Street outlaws and has a 632inch 2,000 hp potential set up. It may be less than "some" exotics, but it more like 60 % with the race builds. Plus they are literally NOT as reliable as an exotic car. Most of these quarter mile hot rods spend far more time being tuned and rebuilt than turning miles on the highway. Also they are good for only one thing... Straight line acceleration. Nothing else. Throw in turns, and they won't do well. Or even go for top speed instead of just the quarter mile, they won't do well for top speeds either.

Yeah, I'm on the Lambo driver's side at 3:00. It would be one thing if he made an assumption about power and never asked, but they specifically lied and said the Skyline made a little over half the power it's really capable of. It's not really a humiliation to lose a straight line race in a car not designed that that purpose alone. Those same 1000hp shit boxes would finish about half a lap behind those same cars round most race tracks. That said I've seen cheap custom cars run supercars close on the track too at far cheaper price tags.

GTRs can make almost 4000 hp. I'll take the GTR all day. In my car I'm looking to LS swap it and have it AWD with a GM 4L80e transmission. V8 LS has more power potential than a GTR
never bet against a gtr with 3500hp hitting under 6 sec at over 230hph there is no civic in the world hitting those speeds. are going fastest if so send me a link cars on a budget I can see the point of this video
Of course here come the GTR boys. Fox bodies have been in the 5s for years. In fact, a Fox Body was the first door car and 1st car without a wheelie bar to make a 5 second pass. Against pro mods with full tube chassis and plastic shell, and it still had timing. Basically just put a heavy duty roll cage and an SMX in it, stripped it out, and gave it a drag wing and a parachute. Of course they had to do a lot of chassis work to get the SMX to fit, but it was still a Fox Body at heart.

These "1000 HP shitboxes"....Im guessing they'd be deep in the 10 sec quarter mile range if not down into the 9s? Considering the size of some of these compacts, even at 500 HP, that would have to put them in the 10s. These high dollar super cars , for what they cost, dont seem that impressive on acceleration . A (final drive ratio). Are some of these shit boxes actually down in the 8s in street trim? It's all new to me, Im an 80s V8 pushrod/ flat tappet cam/ carburetor relic just glad to be running mid 12s in a 86 442 with a dinosaur 68 Olds 350. If I hear one of these shitboxes whistling like a jet engine next to me at a light, Im just gonna take off normal and spare myself the humiliation.

People try to justify how cool a 1000 hp shitbox is when you have to rebuild them once in a while and are just as expensive to fix like a supercar if not even more.
