I’ve been in the travel industry over 25 years and not only is this one of the best and practical videos I’ve seen regarding what to have in your Personal Items bag, but I discovered new products I will be ordering this week! The best for me was the vest and for my husband will be the telescoping chopsticks! Thanks and I’m subscribing now for sure!

I stayed in a hotel suite with my family the other night, and all the little bits & bobs I carry came in so handy thanks to you! My family laughingly told me I was entitled to all the hotel amenities as a reward for being so prepared.
@@conniepung6000 oh my gosh, truly truly appreciate your feedback and what a compliment! That means so much that you watch these videos and that you have rated this so highly and it truly has made everything that I do to make these videos worth it💕😊
She's the "Merlin•ette" of travel! I'm expecting the 52x60 throw, standard pillow, PJs, full size Shampoo/Conditioner, jeans/tees, formal wear, & heels. Wait-and a French press for one. Amazing!
I always have one or two pantyliners much easier to change one of those than to change your underwear in a plane’s toilet. I put one on before I leave home, then I can change halfway through a long journey. 0:23
You definitely take preparedness to the next level! I thought I did a pretty good job of organizing my personal item but you’ve shown several ways I can improve. I appreciate how you’ve provided links to everything. Your point about how a travel vest allows you to have all your really important things upon your person in case the plane is evacuated was something I hadn’t thought of before, so I’m going to invest in one.
Thank you so much and I’m so glad you got some great hacks from this video and I never travel without a vest! It’s with me on every travel trip and it’s the one constant. I always bring either that or a jacket with a lot of pockets.😊💕
@@leza4453 I always wear it on the plane both chew and from because it helps me carry things but it’s also good to have in case it does get a little chilly, but if it’s too hot and humid, I’ll just leave it in the closet😊
Wow. I didn't think you could get any better....but you did. It would be funny if you sold these on Etsy--complete. Now I have to justify getting a new bag. Some women collect shoes, I collect bags. Thanks! ;-)
Lol! We are so much alike and that I have more bags than shoes as well! I think it’s because we’re always searching for the perfect bag for the perfect situation and there’s not one perfect bag so we have several! I kind of sometimes it looks like they have the same tool, but it’s a little bit different and does a different job so that’s how I justify it🤣😂
Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so organized and thoughtful with their packing. I am thoroughly impressed. Lots of good tips here. Thank you.
Hey Eunice, I hope you are doing great. Your videos are so helpful. I would have never thought of putting a luggage tag on my personal items bag. What a great idea! 👍🏼 I love how prepared you are for every scenerio. I get so MANY ideas from you ❤️ Thanks so much for always helping us out. Have a blessed day. 🙏🏼
Daiso Japan (and USA, if you’re lucky enough to live near one) is the bomb. I stock up on household things, omiyagi to bring home for friends, and there’s always some emergency items needed. Last trip, I had a suitcase I was worried about springing open, and needed a luggage strap. ¥1600 (USD $16) but at Daiso, a 2 pack for ¥100! The water heater tip is a MUST! I just talked to a friend who got to her 4⭐️ hotel to find a pair of underwear soaking in the in-room kettle! I’ve never used the in-room kettle since! Also, the multi-tool with little scissors is my most used travel item. Great video!
Just recently discovered your channel and appreciate your great tips! I travel frequently and rarely carry a purse or bag, having seen up close skilled pickpockets at work. I always wear a vest on planes, trains, buses and usually while walking in my home city and elsewhere. Three reasons: vest pockets are signficantly hard for pickpockets to access; for peace of mind in the kind of evacuation you mentioned (excellent advice to give your viewers!); and in case of another kind of emergency, my small wallet, phone, contact info, meds, etc will be found by a companion, medical personnel or law enforcement. I have several vests of varying fabric, weight and warmth, but recommend those with zippered pockets or adding snaps or velcro to pockets without zippers. That adds another level of security should a pickpocket target me or to keep important items in place during a slide from a plane or climbing out of a stopped bus or train. Scarves with zip pockets can serve the same purpose when I'm not carrying multiple important items. Thanks again - I'm enjoying catching up on all your videos.
@@terrancerisinger6366 thank you! everything you mentioned is exactly why having a vest is the best travel item you can take along with you. as a woman, most the time you’re gonna be targeted for your purse and I will happily get that over because I have my phone and wallet on my Person. They’re also great for layering over and under things for added warmth or when you just need a little something to block the breeze off the main part of your body. Me vest is the one travel item everyone should have.💕😊
I absolutely love that you basically have a "bag of holding". It is so awesome. If you could, I look forward to seeing the video of that keychain. That would be an awesome addition to my world.
I have traveled short and long hauls for years! I've watched a ton of these types of videos and hands down, yours has been the best. I didn't think you could show my any tips I hadn't seen but you have. My hats off to you. I'll be watching your other vids.

So many cool hacks and gadgets here. I fly a lot, and use a lot of the same things you’ve cited here. A merino dress, and those little zip-top “baglets” are gold. OTOH, I’m in the minority of not liking a lot of pockets in my bag because I can’t keep them straight 😝 A few clear plastic baggie-type things does better for me. I’ve also learned that you usually get what you pay for. Having something break or become nonfunctional on a plane or trip is not fun-and the cheapest thing is not likely to last long. But there’s gazillion gadgets and aids for travel, and it’s great to have you sift through the offerings. So…new subscriber!
Thank you! I like finding new ways and gadgets to try and share! We all think snd organize and pack differently so I like to present different ways and things. Love that you appreciate this!💕😊 thank you for your feedback!🙏
I agree about the pockets. I prefer little bags that are personalized to the size I need for whatever content. I reuse thicker clear plastic bags that linens come in, they usually have zippers.
I’m rather new to traveling and have been on a learning curve the last few years. I wish I’d found you sooner. I haven’t heard of most of these items. I even had my wallet stolen out of my bag while carrying it. So many new items to find. Thank you so much for sharing
For anyone who is interested I have another useful tip. I have a huge roll of paper cleaning cloths (much bigger squares than kitchen towel roll) . They are thick, and are actually compressed paper and linen. (they can be laundered). I take a few of those sheets, each cut into one third and Two thirds. The smaller piece becomes a travel wash cloth, the bigger piece a towel. The less I touch places other people have touched the better. Discard when finished - no wet face cloths going smelly in your sponge bag. Before I got that roll I used budget shop flimsy face cloths for travel washing and drying. And if I couldn't get those I used packs of cheap dishcloths, not pretty, but very practical, bin them when no longer required. . I do the same when staying with family and friends. The simpler the more convenient. I no longer travel abroad but I still take travel bottles of decanted toiletries when staying away . If I need to buy more I still decant into my bottles and give what is left to the hotel cleaning maids. If I'm staying with family they put it away until my next visit. Always go prepared for staying somewhere you hadn't intended to stay - car breakdown, public transport disruptions and you could end up needing a hotel room for a night. I'm lucky that I can leave essentials with my children - everything in a bag in a drawer so it can be moved when they have guests to stay. I've even left dressing table 2- sided mirrors, plain and magnifying, on small sturdy stands, and other people can benefit. And I leave tissues and panty liners there as well together with a pack of nappy bags to use to seal up the discards. The only items I put in rigid protective containers are the tech charging cables - I don't want to risk them being damaged in any way. . I use a click lid clear food container, and include a small torch and a plug in night light. . Now, the ultimate minimalist packing. An acquaintance of a friend used to fly to New York regularly. Apart from what he was wearing he took overnight wash and shaving items and other essentials, and one complete change of clothes. When he arrived he would buy whatever clothing and other things he needed, donate them to homeless charities when he left. How lovely that others benefitted from his wealth. E♥️
What a great tip to put a luggage tag on your carry on. I had never thought of that. So many great tips and items here, it's hard to pick a favourite. That carry on bag is awesome.
I keep mine inside the bag so that I'm not immediately flagged as a foreigner/target for thieves at my destination. Whenever possible, I try to look like a local resident.
@@lynda.grace.14 yes when I’m flying, I keep it on the outside because I’m at an airport and everybody knows you’re probably tourist however, when I’m using a day tripping, I just keep it on the inside of the bag😊 but that’s a great tip and thank you for sharing💕
I have several bags by Lug that is a convertible tote, crossbody, shoulder bag and backpack. They are so convenient for personal item bags and have amazing organization, including a soft-lined phone pocket and see-thru zipper pocket inside for cosmetics, etc. I always put a luggage tag on my personal item and carry on bags, plus Apple AirTags in my wallet and both bags.
I have two colors of the Bagolini bag you just showed, and I have three different lug bags that fit this requirement. I travel 3/4 of the year… I use different bags for different trips. The lug bags are heavier. They are organized really well and have a space for everything but they do take up more room per centimeters because Their intra-organization is also much thicker than the Bagolini bag (if you understand what I’m saying. ) So I can get a lot more things in the Bagolini, because all of its dividers are thinner than a lug bag.
I have one very similar to that.. it's a Samantha Brown bag and I use it as my "Gramma Bag" when I babysit. my ipad, my snacks, my water bottle and earbuds, etc. I also can put my coffee travel cup in the holder too. I bought it for travel , but I use it almost every day.
also, I bought a small multitool with no knife. got through TSA fine. Was not allowed on my Cruise. They pulled it out and confiscated it for the duration of the cruise. I don't bring it anymore, because I don't want to chance it.
1. Beyond impressive! 2. I only wish I had found this 3 weeks ago when I was packing for a trip to Europe. I made soooo many mistakes. Did tons of research, bought a brand new personal item tote/day trip bag, similar to yours, but yours is a little more superior! I'll be done the rabbit hole on your page for awhile planning for my next trip...

You have so many useful tips, and I'm always getting new ideas for what to use and how to pack my art supplies and painting bag for when I want to go out to paint. Thank you!
Loved the backpack organizer. Also need to pick up another immersion heater. Had one in a bag getting on a cruise. It was confiscated, although I'd taken it many times on cruises before. When disembarking, we were on a tight schedule to catch a flight, so I didn't retrieve it. Your vest idea is so smart. Never had to evacuate on a plane, but never know. Love your videos and on Instagram also.
So glad I saw your video. I've got padded and fleece gilet, but never thought of them as a necessary travel item. I shall be off to our local UK Mountain Warehouse soon for a lightweight vest with lots of top opening flapped or zipped pockets. (don't like pockets in side seams, they're never spacious enough.) . Doesn't need to be padded. One that can zip up to the very top will keep the neck warm in cold weather .I'm twilight years, appreciate carrying less as time goes on. Means less weight in the cross body bag. - mobile phones are heavy. And I will put items in their own pouches where possible.. Never too old to learn. Thank you. E❤
Evacuation tip to complement the vest items. A passenger on the January 2, 2024 flight which was on fire while landing at Tokyo slipped his laptop down his pants. Usually there's enough time to do that much, between the time that the announcements to brace begin and the craft stops. Or make sure you have everything on the computer backed up to a cloud storage or external hard drive that remains safely at home.
Wow! I could totally see why he did that though! so many of us have our whole lives on a computer and it’s so essential to our every day! This best has a pocket in the back that’s actually large enough to fit a small iPad💕😊
I travel with 1 backpack or small underseat bag. My "personal bag" (small purse) fits inside it, and the backpack/underseat bag fits under the seat in front of me. I don't like bringing more than that, or putting a bag in the overhead compartments. I've learned a lot from your videos!

@@TheoryofSimple so TSA won’t take away the Leatherman because of the small cutters/scissors? I read all the rules and in my mind that tool falls under the rule of things not allowed. Just discovered you, and I have enjoyed this video. I have just subscribed. I do want to remind you and others to please avoid eating peanut powder or peanuts or nuts on a plane. People with nut allergies don’t have to eat peanut products to suffer from anaphylaxis but can simply have their throat close from airborne contamination. Another great thing about your bag is it looks like a purse rather than a carry on. So they are less likely to insist you check it " because we are out of room". I was so mad when I intentionally bought a small carry on, with very valuable things inside and they were insisting I check it. Love the vest. I was thinking of maybe an outfit I'd wear like Mr. Gadget so I don't even have a bag. I might beep a bit, but they wouldn't make me check the clothes on my back!
@@LiseWrigley yes! This bag is specifically to fit underneath the seat in front of you so it will always be able to be with you unless you’re sitting in the bulkhead in which case you don’t have the seat in front of you and it has to go in the overhead bin and yes, they could make you check it. that’s why I always like to keep things like my wallet, my passport, my luggage tickets, and any medication or things that are valuable to me in my vest because I’ll always be able to wear that on the plane.😊💕

I like your packets. I always pack mine, but it makes more sense to put them in the carry on, in their own pouch-let. I also like the convertible wristlet. I'm thinking of all the things I already have that I haven't put to better use! I even have a weekender from DSW that converts like yours, but I found it too floppy on my back. Love the bag! I think it's a little big for me, but having the dress and shoes just in case is genius. Gives a couple days not to have to buy necessities if there's a problem. And avoids praying over the room coffeemaker (I settle for running a pot/cup of hot water through)

@@ritaalbrecht6422 I was exactly like you and I didn’t think it would be enough to take and hold anything for my personal item. However, airlines are getting so restricted these days. I am enjoying all of your great packing ideas and hacks. I use many of them for my travels in my Class B RV. Due to limited space, I am trying to keep packing at a minimum, so thank you. I am a big fan of Baggallini bags because they are designed with many zippered pockets and the fabric repels water and dirt. Many times I will pack travel essentials in a small Baggallini crossbody bag which I then pack in a larger Baggallini bag that may have an iPad, water bottle, scarf/sweater. I can remove the crossbody bag and use that when walking or shopping and leave the larger bag in my van. If I plan on a long day away from the van, I may carry the smaller bag in the larger bag, minus iPad, but with water bottle , umbrella and sweater. The larger bag can be used as a beach bag or picnic bag as well. I try to have more than one use for items when traveling in my van or on a plane.

Evacuation tip to complement the vest items. A passenger on the January 2, 2024 flight which was on fire while landing at Tokyo slipped his laptop down his pants. I love the mini slide-top bags for small items and your data safe USB device. I always take a change of clothes with extra underwear in my carry on in a compression bag. I always have all my prescription meds in my carry on as well as a printed list of all my meds in case I have a medical issue while traveling.
@@bjchinn5175 thanks! Always a great idea to keep a list of your meds plus the prescription numbers and doctors phone numbers💕😊
This not only brings risk of death but increases chances of a plane having to land unexpectedly, delaying your own plans. Thank you!

I love the way you think! I've often wondered what I would do if I had to evacuate the plane. Now I know. Just when I thought you couldn't get any better you go and post this! I loved using the little zip-lock bags on our cruise last month. Now look at all the stuff I need to get for my next trip! I love Baggallini bags so will be getting the 3 in 1 tote, and the vest.
Thank you so much. I’m so happy these videos are still giving you a great ideas❤️ I have had the tote for over a year and I wanted to make sure I could use it on a lot of different types of excursions and it has not failed to impress me💕😊
@@TheoryofSimple Tote, inside felt organizer, and vest arrived today. I am more than happy with all of them. I really did need a new office tote and the Baggallini is perfect not only for an office bag but for travel. It's a great size and weight. I bought the XL in the vest thinking I'd most likely pair it a jacket or hoodie in 3 seasons here in the Midwest. It will be useful when we walk to carry my phone as well as for travel. I have the large scarf in my wish list as I always travel with a silk scarf, just not this large. I usually pack a pashmina. Thanks again!

Seems like something other than a Theory of Simple. I think this is great if you're going somewhere that you won't be able to find a lot of the one-off items you *may* need on your trip. We really don't need to plan for *every* situation. Although, you are the swill army knife bag friend who always has EVERYTHING you need. Even if you never need or use something in your everyday life. I will pack some of the things, but not ALL of the things PLUS things I had not even thought of needing.

I carry an old fashioned fan because I can count on the power source. 😊
@@krawlb4walking802 good choices! I love that you are prepared😊💕
I could use my purse organizer and some filled packing cubes to make it less floppy! You have me thinking now.

The vest is just a genius idea. I love how you tried to prepare for every scenario. This is just such an impressive video. You can tell how well thought out it is. I wish you would do a video on how to efficiently carry a full laptop (15.6 inch wide) for those of us who need more than an I-pad can give us. Also, one of those cheap flat magnifying glasses with the built-in light might come in handy for some people.
@@winmazda16 thank you so much ! I do carry a laptop with me every time I travel, however I don’t put it in my backpack because it’s too heavy.
