The Bucks have never been hot, not really. They've always attached themselves to someone who's actually a draw, even back in New Japan they attached themselves to Kenny Omega.
I always thought that, it was bullet club to AJ styles to Kenny Omega, in the states they rode the success of guys like Adam Cole and Marty Scrull. The deals and bussiness Cody made the bucks just put their feet in to make themselves relevant. The only think that made them relevant on their own was their BTE youtube channel and that also been slowly dying since all of their superstar friends started leaving
Fun fact: The episode where they showed Punk choke out Jack Perry is still their highest episode this year and has not been topped and they've going downhill and currently is being beaten by NXT in most weeks. Jack Perry the center of all this fiasco the video did nothing for him did not elevate him into main event status and they just have him drop the belt to DANIEL GARCIA. 🤣 They needed CM Punk even if they did not want to admit it or not.
Jack Perry screwed the company with him and the Elite being petty children who couldn't deal with Punk being bigger and more relevant than them, that's not even my opinion talking they just had to put pride before business shows how professional they were even if Punk was no better at times he didn't do what they did to kick it off
Fun fact he choked Jack Perry just to get out of AEW and because he was fixing his nice long hair, he just could stand seeing someone with such great hair.
Personally what I think happened was they (Tony and/or the Bucks) saw the Punk interview, got mad, and as a knee jerk reaction announced they were showing the footage. After they did that, they felt they couldn't go back on it without catching heat, even tho they knew showing it was a bad move. So they show it, then quickly try to brush the whole mess under the rug, which explains the takedown notices. The fact is, it didn't help anyone in the company, it made them look cheap, it gave the detractors more ammo, it gave their fans a headache trying to defend it, and they would've been better off just moving on from Punk
I'm glad that more people are waking up to the fact that The AEW Experiment has failed. It was a great idea, competition and another place to wrestle is great. But the "sports based presentation" was a lie, that was finally destroyed when Cody was essentially run off from the company, it's a shame and we were all lied to.

AEW lost me forever after they aired the backstage footage from All In. Did nothing to benefit the company, the wrestlers, storylines, literally accomplished nothing outside showing how petty they were gonna be towards Punk for doing far better in WWE. The only wrestler it couldve benefited was Jack Perry but that ball was dropped not to long after they picked it up. Plus holding people like Miro, Rey Fenix, Ricky Starks, etc. hostage to their contracts when the costco guys have had more screen time then them this year. Bucks have always rubbed me the wrong way , they act like teenagers and can’t control there typing fingers and can’t control there mouths very unprofessional wouldn’t want to work in a McDonald’s with them 😂
Tony needs to get it together soon otherwise he risks having his top stars jumping ship. while I dont see people like darby or mox going to wwe since they're style wouldn't really work (unless wwe decides to revive ECW under Netflix) i wouldn't be surprised if MJF or even samoa joe are given offers to go join WWE (especially with punk essentially showing how much better things have been since vince left)
Not only is there an observable decline for them (AEW), it also doesn’t help that Uncle Dave will spin anything (AND ANYTHING), and always gives asinine excuses for said decline.
P.S. lol....Tony didn't want to let Punk go. Punk was asking to be let go because it wasn't going to work, he felt certain people didn't want him there. TK thought separate shows would work. Punk used Jack Perry to get himself fired, with no no-compete clause, and into a big payday with WWE less than 90 days later. Punk did a masterclass in petty. AEW got outplayed.
The Mission Accomplished banner was real. I helped print it. His handlers sent over a thumb drive and said "It needs to be really big" with no further instructions. We printed it in the ship's photolab and I think, but am not sure, that one of his staffers took it with them when they left.
It's as simple as this: All Empty Wrestling will never ever recover from the CM Punk breakdown, it kept and just keeps hurting and hurting them as both professionals and as individuals. It was nothing but a cheap move to release the "Brawl In" footage and it only backfired to 'em. While Punk keeps rippin' it (just look at him at WWE rn).
Punk was right, been saying it for two years. Punk never said he was innocent, but he told the truth! I was on Punk side from the beginning because of how some of the Elite were fuckin' with some legends who were trying to give AEW talent great TV advice who worked there like J.R. Cutler got pissed at J.R. when JR was questioning why they kept standing around waiting for 10 minutes for someone to dive off the ring and make it look so obvious. They didn't like that one bit. The seeds were planted with different non-elite clique people during covid. I'm glad Punk isn't like Cody. Cody is a professional who moves in silence and Punk will bring change, one way or another, if you fuck with him. Some changes WWE made to health and wellness was due to Punk. Punk arriving in AEW solidified the pro wrestling fan base around AEW, they got Punk of all people away for 7 years, to come back to wrestling. And then they sent him into the arms of the competition. Cody, Punk, Jade, Ethan, Pillman, Shawn, and others are doing better outside of the AEW Elite mess than AEW is doing without them. AEW keeps going over a cliff every time they want to go tit for tat with Punk. They folks they've iced out, Cody issues with TK, then Punk, AEW's Karma has been swift.
It's sad really, while i wasn't a full on AEW fan, i really liked that i had a choice of what i wanted to see in terms of wrestling, like im watching Seth Rollins and think "i wonder what Christian Cage has been up to" And then going there, it's pretty nice
The cm punk footage was the beginning, for me what ended aew was the whole devil shit with adam cole, that story should’ve been scrapped when adam got injured bro
My suggestions now for AEW (based on knowing that one major promotion calling the shots in N. America has always been bad for the sport and business of pro wrestling): 1. Get the viewership number above 501K within 3 months, above 751K within 8...and keep it above 751K at any legitimate cost. No excuses. Spare me the demographic number. 2. Buy out the EVP statuses from Matt, Nick and Kenny immediately. 3. Jericho? I'd speak to him, Edge, Christian and Danielson. I'd get their honest opinions on booking, training, promotion, etc. The end goal being having them running the day-to-day operations of the company. But, I'd also get them out of the ring effective immediately. 4. I would only hire Paul Heyman or Jim Cornette to be the big boss if the four men mentioned above want nothing to do with being in charge. 5. Lastly, a hard decision has to be made. Namely: Who's the MAN?! Whoever is the draw, make them the draw. PERIOD. Sorry for the rant. Happy Thanksgiving, y'all.
As a WWE fan I really want AEW to do well. I don't want to go back to 2007 to 2022 WWE ever again where they had no competition and everything sucked dirty ass
Aew sux. fast paced video games matches aren’t enough folks. It’s what’s Jim cornette and all of the other wwe legends been trying to tell yall all these yrs
The problem is that the Bucks and in turn the creative of AEW keep booking AEW like it's an indie company with the snarky remarks, shots at the WWE and the (yes this is also a problem) booking of dream matches for no reason. For example, the Ricochet vs Ospreay rematch. Incredible match, absolutely amazing BUT AEW should have packed on heat to the story. Drag it out for a while. Make it more impactful. I love dream matches but there has to be a reason for people to watch the matches besides that it's a dream match, especially casual viewers. You are not booking for a niche, tiny audience. You are booking to create more and more interest in AEW out of non-wrestling fans
Mostly a well-spoken and lucid argument. There definitely needs to be a change in booking. Go for a seasoned veteran, or several like the system WWE currently has where guys like Shane Helms are booking feuds. I don't agree that AEW needs to appeal to everyone. If you appeal to everyone, you appeal to no one. WWE has its fans, and AEW have theirs. But as an AEW fan, they have lost their edge and what brought all those eyes to their product. And I think a lot of that boils down to The Young Bucks being the uncontested voice in TK's ears.
I want AEW to succeed because wrestlers need competition for better contracts. But they gotta do better. Tony needs to step back as a booker and let a veteran take over get better writers
AEW should’ve fixed all the problems with it Sally Tony would never realize he needs to make some more serious changes. He could’ve kept cm punk until his contract expired.
Showing that footage was maybe the biggest self own in wrestling Tony Schiavone spoiled Mankind's title win. There was absolutely no upshot to showing the footage. People called showing the footage was AEW'S fingerpoke of doom qnd considering how badly AEWs ratings have dropped, people arent wrong to make that comparisons.
We don't need AEW, we need a serious alternative to the WWE. AEW killed Ring of Honor and ruined NJPW's inroads into the USA. Without Tony Khan buying out their main event scenes and killing their business, NJPW could have revived wrestling like Nintendo revived video games. Ring of Honor was on the cusp of a big cable TV deal until Tony bought out their main event scene, killed the company, and bought them out just like his hero Vince McMahon. Now he's trying to larp as invasion-era Vince with TWO companies. Why didn't he just buy Ring of Honor to begin with instead of stealing their roster and killing them first? Because he had to have his LARP as a billionaire owner of two wrestling companies like Vince was with WWF and WCW. And now he's warehousing talents like Vince, keeping men like Ricky Starks, Miro, Danhausen, and Rey Fenix in AEW prison in the prime of their lives like Vince did to so many WWE talents. And I'm not even going to start on the allegations - it took Vince decades to get those and Tony is already embroiled in NDA scandals in AEW and especially with the Jacksonville Jaguars. If Vince McMahon is the Harvey Weinstein of wrestling as Tony says, then Tony is the Jeffrey Epstein of wrestling and Aubrey Edwards is his Ghislaine Maxwell.
WWE may be the hottest ticket in town again, but they still haven't recovered the viewership they lost between 2014 and 2019. It's hard to win back viewership. AEW may not ever recover their viewership whether they go to streaming or not. Minutes watching is just going to be a way for #s to be cooked. WBD is going to be looking for subscription #s to increase and AEW to match viewership with their prime shows and if they're not...........
I still have that video about the sync up interview and footage. Had to saved it because AEW started to do COPYRIGHT STRIKES for damage control. (That and not uploading the whole thing on their YT channel was even more pathetic)
They just got the Motor City Machine Guns. Since the MCMG won the tag titles, WWE have featured the tag team division weekly as DIY and the Street Profits are both desperate to win the tag team titles. They were also supposed to have the Lucha Bros but AEW became petty. The SmackDown side is improving, but the Raw side really needs to get the titles off of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.
They literally just had the MCMG win the tag titles, they are bringing in the lucha brothers allegedly. Aew cared about tag team wrestling once. Remember FTR vs Juice and Jay white doing 1 million viewers on COLLISION?
Watched every episode of aew since 2019, including the youtube shows for a lottttt longer than they deserved to be. Haven't watched any of it since Punk was fired tho cos it just showed me how unserious they all were. Punk was literally the only interesting thing left on the show at that point. But honestly omg my mental health feels soooo much better now I don't have to engage with online wrestling fans anymore. And AEW literally makes television that you have to be tuned into social media to fully understand.
Haven't watched an aew show in like 2 years, just no star power or anything, even with Jericho and moxley they can't attract people, Tony should just sell or end it
It was simply bitterness and not being the bigger fish in the pond. Because if you know about the bucks and the even their time in bullet club they like throwing jabs. If you cry about it you were gonna be a joke from them. But throw jabs at them and you’re the bad guy. They screwed up and made punk right. Like what would they think was gonna happened? The anti wwe fans are already there and the ones that went back was just anti Vince. They’ll just keep trying to be an underdogs when the inmates practically run the place. Hell give me TNA getting kicked off spike tv than watching AEW weekly
The "Mission Accomplished" picture of Bush is true. During the Iraq war, a group of ships did accomplish their mission. So Bush (a former fighter pilot) landed on a carrier with a plane, announcing proud "Mission accomplished". It's kind of joked to hell because a lot of people thought he mean the Iraq war (which was far from over). Edit: So nothing got accomplished for the public. It's a meme in that special bubble of the internet.
Out the gate false, Cornett said it himself Khan man was starting that company no matter what, with or without bishoff corny the elite, meltzer or anyone else, just the other day on the wrestling observer hall of famer review video
WWE is stale, other than the Bloodline and AEW is a dead man walking. You can count the months. The most amazing part is before I ever saw or heard about the video, I knew EXACTLY what happened, which proves Phil is transparent af. I knew he had a free hand and yelled while pointing at Tony Clown; AEW stans cant stand it.
WWE has never been more hotter since Ruthless Agression what are you talking about? NXT is the best it has been since Black Gold era , IC title and US title scene constantly produce good stories and matches , world championship feuds slaps and star power on the rosters is crazy. The only 2 hairs in the soup is tag team and women division booking atm.
this is stupid there have been indies all around and tna so if another capable brand or willing investor like khan there will be a new platform the same way there was ecw and wcw back then blaming wwe for things is stupid sure wwe has bad handlings so is all promotions it comes with luck and influence in storylines and opportunity provided
Now I'll say this, in the defense of the Bucks, they are wildly successful and did make the stepping stones for aew with all in. However, they have never ran a wrestlering company, and putting them in charge of AEW because of their success as indie youtubers isn't smart and was predicted to fall off to where it is now.
I gave up when they acted like babies instead of professional evps and refused to sit down and have a talk with Punk to fix things up. But what I loved the most is that Omega came out on Twitch and basically said that he has no problem with Punk and would have patch the whole thing up if it was up to him.
I love AEW because of having WWE only, wasn't fun. I never want to go back to a 1 dominant company. TNA tried but that's where it ends lol. AEW is the closest thing to what WCW was.
It doesn't matter if AEW is a success. It's exactly what it's supposed to be, and anyone who bitches about how it currently is doesn't understand anything about AEW and should stop. AEW is only a vehicle for Tony to fulfill his lifelong fantasy of booking a fed and he has the fuck you money to do it. I'm not going to watch it but it's not the point and more power to him.
@KentKaliber no where did I say it was or wasnt. I said more power to him. I'm just tired of listening to people say shit like "AEW is dead" or whatever. Essentially it was never alive, it's exactly what it's supposed to be. He's booking the way he wants and with the people he wants to book. If people don't like it don't watch it.

Bucks have always rubbed me the wrong way , they act like teenagers and can’t control there typing fingers and can’t control there mouths very unprofessional wouldn’t want to work in a McDonald’s with them 😂
I forgot all about the devil. It literally had no payoff. The best feud in AEW was MJF vs Punk. That was a beautiful 5 months!
Aew hasn't bin the same. It's so boring and lame tony klown is just happy to run his klown shows
7:50 🥷🏽 really from the chi
Lol
Tony needs to get it together soon otherwise he risks having his top stars jumping ship. while I dont see people like darby or mox going to wwe since they're style wouldn't really work (unless wwe decides to revive ECW under Netflix) i wouldn't be surprised if MJF or even samoa joe are given offers to go join WWE (especially with punk essentially showing how much better things have been since vince left)
Joe is definitely jumping ship when his contract is up and probably as a producer.
Tony won't do a single thing to improve his promotion. He's got his toy box, and he aint gonna stop playing with his toys like how he wants.
New discord link plz
The moment they started using hook on tv the numbers plummeted and never recovered lol
5:34 Seeds were definitely planted there. 😂
I always got criticized for siding with Punk over The Young Bucks, I got mocked for siding with Kendrick over Drake, real recognize real.
Good commentary/review! 💯💯💯
Happy Thanksgiving!
A pointless American holiday
@@JohnKobaRuddy who cares.
i dig this new format. but i’m still gunna watch this damn 2 hour video 🔥🔥
Never seen that AEW Punk Cody hug. Adorable.
The day AEW died was post All Out media scrum, they just don’t know it yet
Great vid bruh
Cm punk is the catalyst for aew existing." Is every fed grifter this stupid or you just like to lie?
Cm punk would’ve been champion day 1 with his face on every turnbuckle if he wanted to join AEW in 2019
It's sad really, while i wasn't a full on AEW fan, i really liked that i had a choice of what i wanted to see in terms of wrestling, like im watching Seth Rollins and think "i wonder what Christian Cage has been up to"
And then going there, it's pretty nice
Literally WCW All over again
My Boy KOT4Q doing some side quest right here!
The cm punk footage was the beginning, for me what ended aew was the whole devil shit with adam cole, that story should’ve been scrapped when adam got injured bro
It’s not always reflected in the numbers. The best movies of all times are not even close to the top 10 biggest box office films.
WHAT THE FUCK😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bro is cm punks biggest fan lmao fair points tho
Onggg when he said Cody AND cm punk being the catalyst of AEW existing is crazy . Sure Cody but CM punk was gone from the business when AEW started
Punk did lie. He said re. the fight "sometime I cant let you get close" strongly implying Jack came at him, however that's not what happened at all.
Tony khan fears for his life after watching this video
My suggestions now for AEW (based on knowing that one major promotion calling the shots in N. America has always been bad for the sport and business of pro wrestling):
Most disgusting promotional tactic 2024
Why are we still talking about this like we know the facts already
Aew sux. fast paced video games matches aren’t enough folks. It’s what’s Jim cornette and all of the other wwe legends been trying to tell yall all these yrs
Great commentary and yeah, that stuff wirh Bush was real.
Not understanding that AEW existing makes WWE better is some toddler mindset.
The Bush image is real.
It’s funny cuz I said it from the beginning when aew first came out I told my Cuzin they wasn’t gonna make it
I still have that video about the sync up interview and footage.
Had to saved it because AEW started to do COPYRIGHT STRIKES for damage control. (That and not uploading the whole thing on their YT channel was even more pathetic)
That celebration with Cody, family and friends was epic. I can admit I was a wee bit choked up.
FTR shouldn't go back to WWE, because that company doesn't care about Tag-Team Wrestling.
I was basically done with AEW when Cody left.
Aew gave sting a home
And I really appreciate them for that
I wouldn't say aew built osprey
Don’t think so?
Watched every episode of aew since 2019, including the youtube shows for a lottttt longer than they deserved to be. Haven't watched any of it since Punk was fired tho cos it just showed me how unserious they all were. Punk was literally the only interesting thing left on the show at that point.
But honestly omg my mental health feels soooo much better now I don't have to engage with online wrestling fans anymore. And AEW literally makes television that you have to be tuned into social media to fully understand.
Haven't watched an aew show in like 2 years, just no star power or anything, even with Jericho and moxley they can't attract people, Tony should just sell or end it
Punk was wrong for what he did I didn't need the footage to tell me that
Which part was he wrong for?
It was simply bitterness and not being the bigger fish in the pond. Because if you know about the bucks and the even their time in bullet club they like throwing jabs. If you cry about it you were gonna be a joke from them. But throw jabs at them and you’re the bad guy.
They screwed up and made punk right. Like what would they think was gonna happened? The anti wwe fans are already there and the ones that went back was just anti Vince. They’ll just keep trying to be an underdogs when the inmates practically run the place. Hell give me TNA getting kicked off spike tv than watching AEW weekly
Steven P New

Tony needs to lay off the Colombian marchin powder
Speak for yourself. Yall love a negative narrative about aew but wrestling wouldnt be what it is without tony khan
Hahahahahahahahaha
In no way whatsoever did AEW overshadow WWE with that publicly stunt.
Kissing?
That was the last aew show I watched I was disgusted with that and I loved aew but that was the last straw
George Bush mission accomplished definitely happened
George Bush was like trump with a learning disability
Bush is still lucid
Trump still thinks he’s being Projectedadiddifiedabedeeehh against by pet eaters.
Dude’s gonna milk that AEW hate algorithm for the rest of his life lmaooo
The "Mission Accomplished" picture of Bush is true. During the Iraq war, a group of ships did accomplish their mission. So Bush (a former fighter pilot) landed on a carrier with a plane, announcing proud "Mission accomplished". It's kind of joked to hell because a lot of people thought he mean the Iraq war (which was far from over).
Edit: So nothing got accomplished for the public. It's a meme in that special bubble of the internet.
Usos > Young Bucks not even close
More people are talking about cm punk than aew and Jack Perry. Who really won?
Out the gate false, Cornett said it himself Khan man was starting that company no matter what, with or without bishoff corny the elite, meltzer or anyone else, just the other day on the wrestling observer hall of famer review video
And you can't hit those numbers so who are you to talk
Rhat interview was a pathetic cry for attention. As the vet Punk should have known better and walked away.
Ehhh I see it a bit different but I feel u
Cincinnati? Bro.
Just because you have the massive fund to create something, doesn’t mean your creation isn’t worthless.
Don't lie you watch it
