I think alot of people miss another reason. I am 23, I have been watching wrestling since I was a child. To me, Hogan is mainly a guy who was important back then, but isn't active now. To me he always was just some old guy my father didn't even really care about, since he is more of an attitude era guy and neither of us either grew up or live in an english speaking country. And after everything I know, he is just some old who overall is just not a good guy. Remember the phone call with his son and his sons friend? The latter of which became paralyzed after a car crash? So to alot of younger people, he is just an old guy, who is also an awful person.

I'm indifferent to Hogan. I never liked that punch punch bodyslam bearhug style that was popular in the 80s. However, Hulk Hogan as a character was objectively one of the best ever... at least the original concept. The thing is, pure hearted heroes don't exist in real life and Terry Bollea was the last person you wanna pick for that role. My thing with him is his lack of accountability. At least we know Vince is a piece of shit, and HBK has shown remorse for his past and progress in his life moving forward. We don't know who the real Terry is, nor have we seen him change other than get too old to do the shit he used to do. Again, I don't hate Hogan like everyone else... but he's gotta do more than rip his shirt off and rattle off some catchphrases to earn my respect.

A lot of people were "never good" in-ring wise but you can't doubt their influence and contributions to the product. That said just because they were important people in the the industry that doesn't mean you have to like them/be an apologist for their real life garbage behavior.
