"Forget me nots". We were on FIRE. Patrice was FIRE. We won the dance contest complete with a bucket of champagne rolled over to us - a magical night thanks to Patrice. 67 now; so blessed to have those memories. The entire album is incredible!

Forty-two years of perfection! Baddest groove in every way. Bernard Edward's funky bass line sets a standard that is unsurpassed to this day! Those of us privileged to have grown up and come of age dancing to Patrice Rushen knew how special this song was even back then. It's only gotten better over the past 4 decades. And will continue to as well.

I was 13 years old and just arrived from a foreign country. One of the first songs I heard in U.S. soil!!
I am in my 50's now and everytime I hear this song always takes me back to that new adventure and mystery of what life would be like!
Ms. Patrice's song is interwoven in my life until the end...thanks Ms. Rushen 💚

I'm 65, these were the greatest songs to dance to. In my opinion anyway... I was just 25 then. The eighties were great... Just like the Twenties and fifties and sixties. The seventies... They were ok. People will differ with me.. BUT DISCO lol

    Sending you forget me nots
    To help me to remember
    Baby please forget me not
    I want you to remember
Those were the times we had
Sharing the joy that we thought would last
    Memories of love and affection
Never really was just like a dream
    Was it the simple things
That made me so crazy about you?
Was it your charm or your passion?
    It's not hard to believe
I love you and I need you so I'm
    Sending you forget me nots

    Sending you forget me nots
    To help me to remember
    Baby please forget me not
    I want you to remember
Did we give up too soon?
Maybe we needed just a little room
    Wondering how it all happened
Maybe we just need a little time
Though we did end as friends
Given the chance we could love again
    She'll always love you forever
    It's not hard to believe
I want you and I need you so I'm

Its hard to believe there is no conventional guitar on this piece. That bass just filled in so well, you don't really miss it. Freddie was indeed ready on this one.
