Nice video!!!! Looked so relaxing and the weather (minus the wind) was perfect especially with no bugs! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the next one
thank you for taking me on another wonderful camp and canoe trip, you guys really do a great job photographing, thanks again and hope to watch more.have a great adventurous life ,from oklahoma
Poor dino got the sht kicked out of him lol. My dog does that to her teddies too. Some dandy trout on that one portage. Thanks for bringing us along :)
😂😂 the price they had to pay to come camping was high lol does yours also get very sucky with them? Or just rambunctious? Trout was superb! A very fun time. Thanks for combing along!! 😄
@@TwoPacksandaPup Its such a great time of year for the trout enthusiasts. Normally I would be in the park today fishing for specks. Weather has been great.
I stayed at the same two sites when I did this route a few years ago 👌 Also that looks like a perfectly cooked steak, not an easy feat on an open fire!
No way! Good picks! Our first time at the White Trout site. Beauty. James has been honing his fire grilling steak skills for a while and he’s super grateful for the complement 😎 I can verify that they were excellent.
Thank you so much! It is a unique landscape here for sure. Belize must have some great adventures though, we will have to check your channel out. Thanks for watching and very glad you enjoyed!
That was great. If you get some nice weather, spring paddles are really nice. It's pre bug season and while pretty to look at, I don't miss fighting through lily pads 😄
The yellow flowers you were looking at are trout lilies. They are named that because the vermiculations on the leaves look like the pattern on a trout.
My favorite canoeing youtube trio!! Soo good to see you guys out there again for a spring trip. I was thinking about the hole in the floor of the tent. I have all sorts of tents for different situations like I’m sure you guys do. One tent of mine that ive been surprised at how well it works is the coleman sundowner 2 person tent. With Emma, probably would want the 3 person. The floor is what I like about it. It’s super tough tarp material. I only usevit on carcamping trips. It worked well in an all night rain. Anyway! Great to see you guys again. Take care. Nqu
Awe thank you for the compliment! We actually only use the one tent and it’s a 2 person 🫣 haha so far so good. One of the few times we set it up in the dark. Ah well we’ve had it a long while with no damage other than a tinny hole in one screen door. Hopefully our gear tape fix holds up! Nice to hear from you, and thanks for checking the video out and chatting with us!
Nathan, end of August is soooo good! Hope you have a great trip! And have a great time brining the pup next year, try to start slow and easy with them, hopefully they take to the canoe faster and easier than Emma did!
We go very early.. there is a sweet spot of about a week or two from ice out before the bugs wake up, May long weekend is too late, will be eaten alive! We time our spring trips very strategically. It’s most definitely colder, but a good trade off for us.
Love your videos but I'd like to see Emma on a leash more in portages.. just coming from someone whose dog was attacked on a remote hike and is reactive :(
I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. I completely understand and agree. On most recent trips and videos we have Emma on leash, allowing her freedom at the end of a portage when no one is there. In some situations it’s near impossible to have her on leash if the terrain calls for scrambling or steep decent, we let her off to do the section momentarily. We used to have her off a lot more often and trained her to stay close, stop and wait for us, and recall when I hear or see someone approaching, but I understand that it does not send the right message for viewers of the videos and we’re working to be better all the time ♥️ thanks for watching, and we appreciate your comment.
@@TwoPacksandaPup I appreciate you! I've definitely had to unclip my pup on some rough terrain. Thank you for being responsible:) my poor pup was almost killed by a loose Labrador on a hike when I was 5km from my car and suffered a punctured lung and collapsed eye orbit. She's a lot better now but we met with a loose dog on a portage and it set her back a lot :(
I think i might move out this way for 2 years just to enjoy all the Paddling. Love the channel Peeps 😊😎❣👌👀🛶💧
W❤️W! That’s Awesome! Cheers for more exciting and incredible adventures!🥂❤️✨
Thank you Juan! 💫🎉
Yet another great adventure with you 3....thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Jim, it was good to get out in the spring after the last couple of years missing out
Nice video!!!! Looked so relaxing and the weather (minus the wind) was perfect especially with no bugs! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the next one
Thanks Kristin! The no bugs thing is key isn’t it 😂 was super relaxing. The wind just kept us in check 😉
What an awesome trip! I love Emma and her dinosaur 🦕What a great idea to bring her friend with on the trip. Can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks for watching Cherie!
Mom, dad is several meters away and those fish could be dangerous, I need to range between my people!
Great video!
Right?! So worried, poor girl. She’s getting so much better though, yay!!
Labrador retriever = water dog = swimming. Love the vest.
Total water dog! Basically a beavers😂
Thanks for an enjoyable video, and thanks for catch & release, they were beauties. Happy paddling in 2022.
Thanks Paul! Happy paddling to you as well 🛶

Love the first trip of the season in early spring, before the bugs wake up and the air is so cool and crisp! Thanks for coming along with us!

Great time of the year to be in the park. Some nice speckles caught and kudos on releasing them
Thanks Alex, it’s great to be back spring fishing!

Your dog reminds me of my lab, gust a big goofball all love and kisses. He also has a love for stuffies. Best dogs ever!
Awe ♥️ labs are very similar to goldens, sweet loving goofballs 😂 James grew up with a black lab, such cuties.

I wish we had that type Adventure here in Belize as well. Great job and keep it up. Big thumbs up for you guys

Yes it has very good and beautiful places but different from yours.
Thank you.
Wow watching here from philippines !
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Flowers at 11:03 are known as Trout Lilies
Ah! Thank you! Very pretty
thumbs up
Thanks Dave!

Right? Love lily pads, but they are thick sometimes! We love timing a trip right before the bugs wake up!
@@TwoPacksandaPup how do you manage to time it? I was on the western uplands on the 14th and we got destroyed :)
The yellow flowers you were looking at are trout lilies. They are named that because the vermiculations on the leaves look like the pattern on a trout.
Ah! Very cool, thanks for that, they are so pretty and delicate looking ♥️

I just booked a solo week at the end of august! I’m so excited! The goal is next year to bring the dog!
No booking a site in the backcountry, you just book the lake 👍

Really enjoying this channel. It looks like you guys use the Slogg pack from MEC? If you don't mind me asking what sizes are they 70 or 115?
Hey Darrell, thank you! And yes, we both use the 70, sometimes mine (Jen) is a hair tight on day 1&2 with the food, but still works great.
It doesn't seem like you encountered any bugs at all. Was it really that good?
We go very early.. there is a sweet spot of about a week or two from ice out before the bugs wake up, May long weekend is too late, will be eaten alive! We time our spring trips very strategically. It’s most definitely colder, but a good trade off for us.
Do you ever worry about ticks with the pup?
She takes a flea and tick preventative because we spend so much time outdoors.
That is why they make hand saws when you come to a fallen tree and it blocks you way you open the pathway .
( Doo )
Great tip - we’ll be sure to carry one on our hip from now on.
