Does anyone else see the irony of the guy running it through the car wash often to keep it shiny but can’t be bothered to run it through Jiffy Lube once a month to keep it alive?

I get your point but never say Jiffy Lube again because their oil and filter changes are expensive and you get the worst quality oil on the planet. Do it yourself, go to the dealer, or anywhere but Jiffy Lube😉

He stated that he got the engine for Powertrain out of Dallas. I looked into an engine for my 04 F150. Short Block $3200 (not a bad price). I would guess that he probably dropped around $6000 (not counting his own time since he owns the shop). $6000 + $2000 for the vehicle = $8000. Now the vehicle is basically new and can be ran for another 200,000 miles.

Fab video! Thx. I bought a brand new 2002 in 2004 (was lost on the dealer's lot) at a whale of a savings and I was so happy with it until it got demolished in a winter accident. The 02's 03's and 04's all had different sounding exhausts. I picked the 02 with the big Goodyear tires. Electric shift 4WD. Couldn't get that thing stuck in big snow drifts in the forest out at UBC in Vancouver. Colour was Arizona Beige which was the best of all the browns. Had the big Triton V8.

I bagan doing my own maintenance and repair since i was 18 years old. I paid to get some work done by a local mechanic. Upon reviewing the work, I was charged, and the work wasn't done. If you were local to me in Jersey, I would definitely take my truck over to you. I have a 2004 Fx4 great condition. Both body and chassis have minimal rust. However, I want to replace the engine and a few other parts. I enjoy your video, and yes, I'm a sub!

That's an awesome project truck. You know all of the failure points, so you know what to change out to make it fairly new.

The most important part you left out, what was your total cost for the rebuild of everything

scot miller the long block alone was $3,300 minus $600 core. I would guess about $7-$8k.

Look great. Powerstop rotors work great. Cross drilled and scored with pads to match. Have always worked great on my 06 4x4. Moog suspension parts last the longest. Control arms and links.

My 07 5.4 f150 has 224k with no problems other than normal maintenance. Gotta do the pinion seal tomorrow, 1 window motor, master window switch, sway bar end links, 1 ball joint, and 2 sets of plugs.

Cheap vehicles have always been my best ones. I purchased a Corolla with a blown motor from a customer for $150 way back in 2000. Built the engine for about $700 and other than regular maintenance it’s been 💯. Daughter went through college on it and I still kick it when I need it.

Brother, you just did what most of us would want to do but for time and money! Your truck looks outstanding!!! I'd of guessed that it wasn't more than 4-5 years old!!! How much, all in???

Love your videos, Brian! I picked up 2004 F250 from neighbor. Your videos are helping me! (I did the rear diff cover change and oil, now getting parts for front end). I also took advice from my mechanic and fixed gnarly steering issue: it was the rag joint! Replaced that shaft and steering way better now. Shame I have more rust that I need new bed (Damn you Ford for putting foam in wheel well!). Since 4WD trucks are now starting at $50K and up, it makes sense to drop $5-10K to keep a paid-for truck going another 5-10years.

Thing is a beauty! Nice work, man! 🍻
Always cheaper to keep a 15 year (or older) vehicle on the road than it is to keep a new one there. Less tax, & less insurance - a win-win all around. 👍👍

You did spend a pretty penny but now you have a very reliable truck . All done by yourself. I bought an 800 $ 2wd truck with 266k on it and never has let me down. I dont know if i would spend that much on the truck as it is not a 4wd. Cheers!
