- So finally i pulled a trigger on a touchscreen monitor for my Macmini M1, and turns out it worked really well!
So little info on touchscreens and Mac !! Thanks for this, it was real helpful !

for anybody else out there who might be looking at doing this prior to OS 10.15.3 compatible touchscreens work out of the box as a mouse input. That does leave out multitouch and still makes the TouchBase software useful. I went this route with a BlitzWolf BW-PCM3 and a halftop (MacBook Pro received with broken screen) to use with a Behringer XR18. On my newer system I've been running OBS and on another system with windows I've come to the conclusion that the multi view is really nice with a touchscreen so I've been looking at getting an espresso Display which claims compatibility with newer systems with their own software.
I try to do something like this in 2015 I think it was with pro presenter and a serial touchscreen didn't work out, although I did get it working through windows through VNC with automated timed opening. it was crazy I had it set up to boot and open on Sunday morning and practice night.

A touchscreen alone only provides _some_ of the technical benefits that the Raven provides -- because the Raven software bundle is key to maximizing the touch interface. Believe me, a touch driver alone will add multitouch capability, but that is not all that the Rave software offers. Just be aware of that.

How do you turn off smart zoom?
Does the keyboard pop up also? Or do you need an external keyboard?
Does this allow for adjusting two or more parameters at once? So threshold and make up gain on a compressor for example, like you would with hardware.
Useful information. I was looking for something like this for a long time for DAW. I wonder if it works with Logic Pro X

He has single touch, not multi touch. In order for it to be multi touch, the software you use on the touchscreen, has to support tuio. Alot of music software do not support tuio so request the software to support tuio. In that case, your best of using a device where their drivers support multitouch eg. iPad, Android or surface.
yes most softwares are only have single touch support, except like slate raven who have the multitouch support for their faders, but at least for me the screen's multitouch function is useful like zooming in an out (because it have to use two fingers) and other function like scrolling through pages etc

hi, yes it worked with multitouch gestures but not for several faders on Pro Tools because natively PT doesn't have multitouch support, maybe another DAW who have MT support will work

Too much latency compared to a Raven…..
I tried many multitouch screen and the Raven is in real time, there is no latency.
On your monitor when you move a fader or a window the latency is huge man

Yes it’s possible, because just like raven you can use 2 monitors at once, what i’m not sure is the UPDD license can unlock the 2nd monitor or you should buy another UPDD license for the 2nd one
Nice video. Quick question - You have a Mac Mini and a touch screen (I'm thinking of this set-up for reading music in a theatre show set up) - at boot-up / log-in can the touchscreen show a (QWERTY) keyboard (as an iPad would) or do you still need a physical keyboard? Thanks
Yes you can turn on the accessibility keyboard on login screen. To turn on the onscreen keyboard, go to System Preferences->Users & Groups and click on Login Options. Select “Accessibility Options…” and turn on the Accessibility Keyboard.

No i fid not yet. I have 3x dell 24" inch mnitorts for touch and 55" monitor for editing (without touch).
System works without any problems in my windows 10. I just would like to update more power in that system but before that I need to be sure it works in OS/Mac too. Too expensive test to do if it not work)
@@leoekks3747 Wow that’s a crazy setup! So what I can help you with is that I have a Mac Mini M1 dual screen set-up. One iiyama 24’’ as the main via HDMI and a iiyama 17’’ touch screen as secondary. In UPDD I assigned the to work with the second monitor. I’m assuming that if you have a 3rd or 4th touch screen more pop up windows would appear to select select those as touch. @@cpbhave I use Ableton Live but I'm using the touch-screen for my office set-up. However I did try Ableton on the 17'' and it works perfectly but it's rather fiddly with such a small screen. Would be better on a large ultra wide.
