Once again Viking another fantastic interview. These are absolute gold for all us 80s/90s action film fans. I would love to know more about how JC got his part in no retreat no surrender and black eagle because not so much information out there on those projects. Would love to hear M Qissi talk about those too. Keep up the awesome work my friend
Big respect to Mr Qissi - such an inspirational and positive person - like his brother Abdel. These stories are Gold. If weren't for Mohammed Qissi probably we wouldn't 've known about Van Damme, so Big thank you Mr Qissi.
Guardian angles are real human people and Mohammed Qissi was Van Damme's guardian angel for sure man...a true friend that really watched over him...bless the brother 💯💯💯🙏 ...and big up to Carl Withers.
JCVD the whole time wanted to be in Bloodsport. He is like Dux who went awol and went to the Kumite in the movie but it all worked out because he made a mastepiece that made him the star he was meant to be.
Imagine if they had used the original costume with JCVD. Imagine an alien lobster drop kicking Arnold and everyone else 😅. These behind the scenes stories are just as interesting as Predator.
I just talked to Craig Baxley a few hours ago. I asked him if this story about Van Damme is true and he said yes. I also asked if he would do an interview with you to set the record straight and he said yes, of course. It would be so awesome to see this happen!
These interviews are like friends chatting ,,, !!! and catching up on the times back in the old days .... top draw for the nostalgia :-) V samurai another home run ,, 🎉
Many, many thanks to Mohamed Quissi ! Various stories about the same fact, what's strange ! I think that tale is about the movie's action I love. So, I was curious about the truth. One another field...I would like to hear M. Quissi about Kickboxer 2 ! As far as I am concerned, it's a great movie with a such good script, a great director, but without the Vand Damme' magic !!! So, it would be a great occasion to bring hommage on Albert Pyun who passed away a short time ago. Many, many thanks to both of you.
Omg, these stories from Predator are gold. More please❤👍😁 I've just bought Bloodsport on 4k from Capelight, can't wait to sit down and enjoy this JCVD classic again.
i just wonder what it would've been like had JC retained the Predator's role with the original costume somehow, and continuing on the original casting of the Predator onto 2 and onwards and its franchise. i'm almost certain that it would've slowly been revealed as a Martial Artist predator and that kick in the costume though 😁 don't get me wrong, i love the current Predator but with more physicalities in acrobats, all possible kicks amongst other tricks in its sleeve in that costume would have been wilder. screw that guy who downplayed JC for being fired, thank you Carl Weathers 😂 and thank you Mr Qissi for clarifying on what really happened on Predator 🙏
Thanks so much for the support Hung. As far as Predator goes, it seems everything worked out for the best, as well as for Van Damme. Too bad for the other guy who broke his leg though! in response to your other question about who Van Damme's talking to in JCVD, the director just really told him to open up and bare his soul.. so we can only speculate, but it seems likely he's talking to God, his family, and close friends like Qissi.
Heard a story years back that Van Damme wanted the part in Kurt Russell's movie Soldier and Paul W.S Anderson turned him down. He already had Kurt Russell in mind for the role.
Everything makes perfect sense now, with what Mohammed Quissi told here. Mohammed Quissi is a real heroic friend 💪 My admiration to him has increased with all this info. Also very good what he told about Mr Carl Weathers. He would be a great guest 🥊👍 Another great video, Viking Samurai 🤺👏🍻👍👍
I love how he he keeps saying that hes got loads of other stories but can't tell them yet as he is in the middle of one😂😂 VIKING SAMURAI We want to hear them all get him back on bro .👏👏👏🙏🙏👌👌💪
Wow this one was interesting too brother wow that was a great way to get out of the movie sorry to hear about the machette attack though Mohammed bro you both were very lucky and im glad you both was safe you both could have got killed yes i heard that shayne black was the writer of the movie. God bless you another great story very interesting indeed my friend lots of love and respect to from Christopher Livermore
Exellent video viking samurai, Mohammed is a gem to listen to telling stories from back in the day, i also think Mo still has an intenseness to him, not sure id want to piss him off, Mo and Jean claude, dangerous pair. Anyway so intriguing and interesting hearing actually what happened on the set of predator. The irony is that the 2nd guy that came in actually broke his legs, which mo and jean claude could see coming, i mean what a call to make, imagine if jean claude had broken his leg, oh my, that (palm tree in kickboxer) really would have won. I mean the work and the great action movies that were made at that time would not have been if JCVD 's leg was broken. So yeah a great call to get out of predator the way he did, thanks to carl weathers also. Good piece of advice. And yet predator was super succesful, and still is to this day. Real classic. As are bloodsport and kickboxer. For me JCVD made the right call thare. And then emerged as using his god given skills to bring us masterpices like bloodsport and kickboxer. Many films followed of the action fighting genre for JCVD. A.W.O.L is another of my favourites. Cyborg is a classic, i always thought there was something about Vincint Klyn who played Fender, a magnatism that drew me into wanting to watch him, viciral and brutal cyborg but a classic, and Vincint made something thare, had a presence, and yip facing off against JCVD just makes for good watching. The scene in Cyborg when fenders crew are chasing jean claude and it goes down into the sewers, JCVD doing the splits above the opening waiting for one of fenders top men is just incredible, the uncut version of Cyborg shows the real viceral brutality of the film, but that move in the sewers was a Boss move. There is soft spot also for me because Mohammed Quissi being thare for Jean claude Like brothers is comforting, they likely pushed each other on and watched out for each other. I mean Mo holds for me the biggest and best Villian ever to grace the screens in a fighting movie in Tong Po, utterly nailed it, the story with the machette on predator is not nice but Mo acting purely on instinct just jumped the guy and settled it. I like predator but i like and enjoy bloodsport even more. The stories that Mo no's about from back in the day are gems, and i think he will have a ton of them to tell. And it would be Gold if you could somehow get JCVD on the channel to tell a few stories, be awesome, ( hell yeah). But yeah thankyou to Mo for coming on and explaining what went on in predator, and i would bet everything i had that when jean claude became a superstar, and he was a mega star, i bet he came back to LA with a huge smile after that director saying you will never work in this town again or something to those words. Very nice sweet reversal. Thanks viking samurai for getting Mo back on. Superb content.💪💪👍👍☺
A friend of mine got bitten too by a mosquito in Papua over a month ago. tat bite knocked him out n he had to be brought back immediately. He almost died bcos of it. Jungles like tat have killers u would least expect. Luckily our Tong Po survived!
I'm so glad we are getting the history of Mohammed Qissi and Van Damme getting the roles in Blood Sport. They did shoot the first Predator in Mexico, that is a fact. Carol Weathers gave Van Damme and Mohammed Qissi some good advice on not to qiut. Thank you again Viking Samurai for this interview.
thank God for Qissi. telling it like it is from his own experience. I hear people talking sh*t bout JCVD cuz of the stories people put out in their books or whatever. And of course, those people are gullible to believe it. Or at least, gullible to just hear one side of the story without bothering to research. Also, did I hear right. It was a 3 movie deal? so obviously Bloodsport and Kickboxer. What was the 3rd movie? Cyborg?
Great video 😃 Viking Samurai and amazing interview these guys were my childhood growing up any chances on getting Sean Claude on for a future interview anyway possible?
Im sure for certain Van Damme is watching these interviews! This is his own childhood friend whos telling it all. His own son Kris has to call his dad and tell him about Qissi being on.
Qissi mentions Kick Boxer at the end.. I never liked it quite as much as Bloodsport. I think because it was so similar as were a lot of Van Damme's movies. BUT the Van Damme movies that did catch my attention were always good. We'll never get that time back.
@@PakiFighter Well, he also wants to get paid for an interview, and that's not what I do on the channel, I wouldn't even pay Van Damme or Seagal to be on; as much as I respect and appreciate everyone's time, I want them to actually Want to be on the channel and share their stories with the fans... who knows though, perhaps I can convince Mohammed to get him on and he can help with translating.

I did hear the same story. JCVD didn't want to get injured on the set of Predator especially after getting a lead role in Bloodsport.

Great work thanks!!!
Van Damme and Qissi: “Dillon, we want to leave!” Dillon: “You're an asset. An expendable asset. And I used you to get the job done, got it?”
This is consistent with the amount of crazy I'd expect when your movie has a roster of 80's badasses like that.

like Bloodsport, Predator was also a true story, based on the adventures of Frank Dux..

I heard jcvd was fired for intentionally injuring stunt men, but that sounds more like a steven Segall move based on other interviews I've seen.
THE COSTUME WAS TOO UNCOMFORTABLE AND HOT. SO JCVD SAID FUCK THIS BULLSHIT LOL 😆
