80s was such a great Hollywood era with lots of opportunities. Imagine trying to conquer Hollywood as a talented martial artist from a foreign country today. Boomers really had it good.
I think JCVD would have been completely lost and swallowed up in Hollywood if it wasn't for his incredible friend who went way above and beyond for him. It is truly unreal. I bet JCVD regrets how he disrespected Chuck! I'm quite surprised hearing that, especially with how much desire and determination JCVD led us to believe he had for Hollywood stardom. Without Qissi, it simply wouldn't have happened. How could JCVD ever fall out with this man? It is beyond comprehension to me. What fascinating stories. I could listen to these stories all day from Mohammed Qissi. It's a pity JCVD couldn't have been a bit more honest because I think the truth (as told by Mohammed Qisi) is even better.
@@acquiesce100 i find it fascinating, in your own words. You can't comprehend why. He already had some fame, why he was getting out with the ladies and felt not need to be working. Besides the fame, there where other things.

I've met so many guys, but never had the opportunity to meet Chuck Norris. He brought the Machado's to U.S. Pre 1993 UFC so was way ahead of the game adding Jiu-jitsu. I'd like to hear Qissi's later story about Stallone.
Would of definitely been a classic for sure if Van Damme and Chuck did a movie together. Both of them were elite kicking stylist!! I would of also loved to see Van Damme and Seagal do a movie together but they didn't like each other back in the 90s, and that's because they were competing with each other at the time since they both were the 2 top martial arts superstars in the 90s. Too much ego on that one.
I met Chuck , Howard and Chucks wife in Atlanta at the World Congress Center in 2004. I was working security and got to escort them up to the second floor where Chuck was giving a talk on his book. Howard was once the middleweight karate champ. They were super nice and friendly. It’s a shame Jean Claud didn’t get to do more with him. That’s a great story by Mohammed. I’ve never heard that. JCVD was just to advanced in his career at that time be mentored. I am sure at that time that he felt like he was doing as well as Chuck, or maybe better, and he was aspiring to even more so following Chuck would have made no sense to him.
@@vanhattfield8292 Their other ways to be mentored besides Martial Arts training. Maybe the mentorship would'ev saved JCVD from his drug use, mixing with the wrong crowd that lead him into his downfall. That's something to think about besides whatever JCVD is better than Chuck. This is not about that no doubt JCVD was meant for greater things but JCVD was lacking a mentor to help him avoid the wrong path he lead to his decline in the box office in the late 90's. The people Chuck mentored in different ways never led to any drug use or anything, I like both JCVD and Chuck but JCVD isn't perfect he seems like a hard working person who's decent but can be distracted when he isn't focused that leads to him making alot of regretful mistakes on his part. I'm not saying he should be following Chuck Norris but at least he could'ev got on good terms enough they could'ev kept intouch to be of help to JCVD when he needed it during his harsh times.
Van Damme should have have tried to emulate Norris' fight scenes. There was always a sense of realism in those (Chuck Norris) sequences. He gave you the flashy skills without all of the slo-mo posing and other such nonsense. There wasn't any choppy editing or fooling around with the speed. It was all just pure martial arts skill. They kept a record of Every visitor and saw who was lying and out went the security lady. Long story short...it was enough for me to also start packing and leave. Once they start seeing that side of you...it becomes a shattered glass door.
@@robd1329 But still, some people get disgusted by such attitude towards work and obligations by seeing it just once as well, so not sure about it. Although Norris was a middle aged man at that point and was a smart guy, he probably would've understood the situation if it happened only once.
@@joemilo2710 that is true. Im sure Norris wouldnt have cared of it was just once. But im sure he went out on too many times. Lol
Would love to see Chuck Norris on your channel one day! 💥💥
Yeah dude bring in Viking Samurai. Bring
Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme in.
This is incredible, now we finally know!
That we do!
"And I was dissapointed "time s 8.34 ) TONG PO KICKS KURT!!! VKSAM taking it out of context and back in again was pure comedic GOLD again !!!!
I'm proud of that edit lol
Can you believe that? Going out to party and forget about Chuck Norris? LOL!
OMG. I was looking forward to this story. Chuck Norris is a great guy. I wish Chuck Norris and Van Damme team up for a movie 🙏
The pace that AI generated content is making means it's not that far off being something we could achieve.
Such a cool guy and great friend.
Charles Bronson, AKA Mr. Death Wish. He would have been a solid Punisher for Marvel comics in his prime......Anyways, my parents friend met Chuck back in the early 80's at a local tavern around Veniece beach area and he told he was a genuine nice guy and easy to talk to.
Definitely seems like a nice guy.
@@VikingSamurai Oh absolutely...Man, If you can get him here on your show, that'll be something.....Heck, even Sasha Mitchell would be an interesting cat to bring on as well. Keep up the solid job VS!!
Nah, Dolph is The Punisher in my eyes, always will be.
As always awesome interview maybe one day you'll get to interview JCVD himself that would be awesome!
What a great story. I, for one, thank those discotheque girls for distracting Van Damme with their 1980’s dance moves. Otherwise, he might have remained an assistant for Chuck and not the superstar we know today. Salute to these heroines of the modern age 💃 😂
They might have taught him his famous dance moves too!.
jVD is still very popular In Belgium 🇧🇪,we love him like he is ,a real fighter, and cool actor,,and a human whit up and downs like us all
80s was such a great Hollywood era with lots of opportunities. Imagine trying to conquer Hollywood as a talented martial artist from a foreign country today. Boomers really had it good.
Chucks a true legend!
People forget JCVD used to do a shit load of coke...
Fame, sex, drugs, does that...
@@DrJangoR9 Well, he wasn't really famous at that point.
@@acquiesce100 i find it fascinating, in your own words. You can't comprehend why.
He already had some fame, why he was getting out with the ladies and felt not need to be working.
Besides the fame, there where other things.
He didn't want to be Chuck Norris's second hand man.
@@bobbys4327 You are not listening.
He could have been in a movie with Chuck where they shared screen time had he just not got caught up in the allure of going out to the club in foreign countries lol. It's no wonder if developed a drug problem by the time he blew up. I am so glad Jean Claude finally got his crap together.
The closest we will ever get is The Expendables 2, personally I think Van Damme and Chuck should of had a fight scene in that movie
Mohammed has so many good Stories. I love this interview. Maybe you could get the King (Van Damme) on some Day. That would be like the spot over the I. You know. I hope and pray 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌞
Anyways thank you for your great Channel. I love it and it answers all those questions i had when i was a teenager in the 90’s. I was training Tae Kwon Do. And i was only training that Martial art because it was the only style 😮n the area where i lived. All those movie heroes where my inspiration. Just love it.
Hello, Viking Samurai. All I have to say is, if Chuck Norris says, you're a good Martial Artist, you're a good Martial Artist.
TERRANCE OUT
we need a real Van Damme life story other than JCVD. I have a feeling it would be greater than anything we've seen before when it comes to someones life story.
It would be a great biopic if done right with the a great writer and director, and great cast etc.
@@GothamKnight84661
I'm surprised Van Damme still hasn't written an autobiography yet.
Amazing story about the Jackson vs Brilleman fight in Amsterdam. Was just as interesting to me lol
In alternative universe Norris and Van Damme star in the universally missing in Delta action quest.
Man, it's crazy to hear how all this stuff went down. JCVD really messed up going to the disco! We could've had JCVD and Norris in a MIA movie!!
I think Norris should bring back his "action jeans".
I remember watching Missing in action 2 back in July 2020. It's definitely one of my favorite Chuck Norris movies💥💥
Some people come out of anonymity because they were given an opportunity, but not everyone does the same when they get there...
thanks bro...
Tongpo is good story teller lol
Mohamed Qissi is a great story teller !
Tong Po!!
Never seen those pictures either.
Very late reply, but Van Damme is listed as an extra soldier in the first Missing In Action.
I 've seen his name in the credits when they mention Stuntmen 👆
would have been a good one
Great interview V.S but for the record Chuck and Van Damme were both in The Expendables 2 together so at least there is that.
Chuck Norris is the man very nice guy and accomplished martial artist he is the reason why I got into martial arts back in the 1980s ie karate sad day in the martial arts world when Chuck Norris dies
chuck was a selt taught martial artists
@@ektran4205
When Chuck Norris Stationed at Osan Air Base, South Korea. Norris trained under the instruction of Do Sik Mun in the late 1950s.
Missing in Action 3 is probably the only time in history when the 3rd sequel out did the 2 before it :-)
The 3rd sequel would be the 4th film!, sorry, just had to point that out.
Not surprised
Very cool story😉
Man I wanna see u do a interview with Van Dam
Brilliant Interview Viking Samurai 👏 100% I Always Wondered Why Chuck Norris and Van Damme Never Made a Movie Together When They Were In Their Prime I Always Thought It Was Because Both Always Played Good Guys In Their Movies and Neither Would Want To Play The Bad Guy? Hollywood Really Missed a Trick Not Making an Action Movie With Chuck and JCVD It Would Have Been Amazing To See These Two Martial Arts Legends Go Toe To Toe In a Showdown as a Huge Chuck Norris Fan I Was and Still am Very Disappointed It Never Happened.
It would've worked really well early in Van Damme's career to play the bad guy against Chuck, like he did against Sho Kosugi in Black Eagle.
@@VikingSamurai Yep! I Have Black Eagle and That's a Great Fight at the End Between Van Damme and Sho Kosugi.
@@VikingSamurai Yeah, but who knows what would've came of it, we could possibly have missed out on the amazing films JCVD made, with the exception of Tong Po and Bolo Yeung who remembers the bad guys?. He might have just faded away or been typecast as the baddie. Saying that, he did play the baddie twice early on and it worked out so who knows.
Van Damme is apparently a really nice guy in real life,
I actually like it at 1:40 when I see Schwarzenegger looking up to Stallone. 🤘
Oh Van Damme you party animal
Interesting stories, ashame Chuck and JCVD didn't workout too well with the mentorship.
Wasn't both Chuck Norris and JCVD both in Expendables pt 2 movie?
That’s awesome.
Both Chuck Norris and JCVD were in Expendables 2 movie, but they had no scenes together, which was probably for the better.
What truly happened was The muscles from Brussels was jealous he didn’t get a total gym for Xmas.
Im sure he got the 'Total gym' workout at the phillipine night clubs. Lol
I didnt know until resently that Mohammed was Tong Po😮😮
Van Damme should have have tried to emulate Norris' fight scenes. There was always a sense of realism in those (Chuck Norris) sequences. He gave you the flashy skills without all of the slo-mo posing and other such nonsense. There wasn't any choppy editing or fooling around with the speed. It was all just pure martial arts skill. That's what people want to see! All the flexing VanDamme did was just off-putting and unrealistic.
