Great Episode, Mohammed Qissi is and was a very important part of Jean Claude Van Damme career and life. Mr. Qissi is more than a friend but a Brother to Jean Claude Van Damme. Van Damme wanted to make a first impression. Showing his face and everything he had to offer. And boy did he ever in #Bloodsport. #Genius. Both of them.Van Damme/Qissi as Tong Po in Kickboxer. Nobody knew Qissi was Tong Po. The more I think about it. That was absolutely genius. Whoever’s idea that was. I draw the comparison. To Kayfabe in Professional Wrestling. Before the business was exposed. As a straight up Work(Scripted). The boys would continue. Their story lines. In real time. Whether it was a gas station or where ever. They had a honor to the business. To the guys that preceded them. Like I said no one knew Qissi was Tong Po. They even put Tong Po in the credits. I never knew it was Qissi til years later. I’m talking way way later.lol I’m thinking that added another layer to that character. I mean. Who can argue. Tong Po might be the most menacing mean looking bad mother effer. I think I’ve seen in a movie. I was legit scared of him.lol All the little details. Like the little cuts scares on Tong Po’s face. That told a story. Emphasizing the Power Low Leg Round Kicks. The Knees. The traditional homage to Muay Thai. With the head piece. Just love that movie.

I lost few pieces. Qissi said they struggled from 82till 86, but if I am not wrong Van Damme did two movies in between no retreat, no surrender and some kind of a Russian gang member. So from my understanding he didn’t get paid for these movies?? I also heard from bloodsport he got paid only 56 thousand dollars which brought 26 million dollars worldwide. So why such a rip off was allowed?
