I've handled, or owned, all of those featured, but the two I'll probably never get rid of is the Spydiechef and the ZT 0470, they have both proven to be solid, reliable, and just-right for specific tasks I use them for on a regular basis.
I really appreciate the downloadable cutting chart that you made . I worked as a steel fabricator for over twenty years and know a little about industrial steel alloys and grades, but knife steel is much more specialized. Retired now on a set income, but my knife money comes from the $200.00 +that I used to spend on cigarettes. Im very new to this as I have only been off the tobacco for 11+months. Over 35 knives now, mostly under $50.00 range. Your chart helps me to know if there is a big enough difference in premium steels to be worth the cost. So far for my purposes, not so much. God bless you and your furry family , (wife included although she may not be so furry)
heck yeah man, I’ve kicked tobacco in my past life. NOT an easy thing to do. But it gets easier as the months go on. The massive price of them and the cool stuff you can get instead helps too!
Haha. Emerson’s are really growing on me. Something about them are really cool. And agree about the 940. I had the green one, now I have black. I miss my green. Something nice about a knife that actually shows use over time. Clean knives get burning to me over time.
My grey havens knives are - love the Tolkien reference, btw - Spyderco Chaparral in XHP, Benchmade Grip in 20CV, Benchmade Barrage in M390, Spyderco Manix2 in Maxamet, Civivi Aquila in VG10, Spyderco PM2 in 20CV. I am crazy about the little Delica in M390, but I have had it for less than a week, so it is hard to say that I can't live without it.
Basil (aka Chubbs McCat) , calls out to Cedric and Ada, " quick get in here, Pete's doing his unsellables so that must mean us ". A few minutes later............. oh just his bloody knives again. Where is Uncle Randy when you need him?
Other than the emerson i either own or have had all them on my short list. Love the keen, its probably my favorite out of the 150 or so folders in my collection. Great picks.
On a more serious note, I've been really enjoying the vids of late, certainly got hooked on the cut tests and will remain so, but the more personal side of Pete's knife fetish is equally compelling. Keep up the great content dude and thanks!
Out of all my knives, in all the price ranges..I carry either my lawman or my rat 2 the most..just something about them I just love. Excellent users, easily replaced, so I don't care if I need to do something on the abusive side. Far from my nicest looking knives, but they just work so damned good. I've put them both through hell and back, but they still keep cutting.
I have an Emerson Journeyman, I'm a bit disappointed by the fit and finish and the action is stiff but there is something about it as a user that I enjoy. I get exactly what you're saying about yours.
My list would be slightly larger but would include several of yours. I would include the Kapara, the Civivi Isham designs, and the Drop Gent. I really like some of the many Isham designs for their weirdness, but the are some that are just too weird...lol.
Other than my CQC-6, the A-100 is probably my favorite Emerson. Still don't know that I could only pick 7 unsellables though..... maybe 27...... maybe.
I currently have 4 knives safe from sale: 1. Spyderco Sypdiechef 2. Zero Tolerance 0920 3. CKF MKAD Loro 4. Spyderco Yojimbo 2 in CF scales/20CV blade steel
I’d love to start whittling down my collection, but it is such a hassle to sell them I usually quit before I start and just buy another Spidey Pack instead.
Nice video I like those knives you picked also but I would replace the ZT with o52cf and I like Delica in ZDP189 better than Mantra something about Delica I keep coming back to weather vg10 or zdp189 just a great knife also I agree with you on the Emerson I have a mini 7 that is perfect action and I would never sell
Very nice never sells... good variety of steels, locking mechanisms and makers. Well done. I have a very similar outlook on my collection. I also have several cold steels that are unsellable lol
I do cycle through a lot if my knives. I think my only unsellable knives are my custom DDR AXD 5.5, my ultratech with hellhound blade, my maxace red queen and my first ever knife: a victorinox my mother got me when me I was 12.
Nice video not a fan of benchmade everyone that I've got as not been worth the money then spyderco who I think are overpriced I still carry my endrua an para2 , but for me I love my coldsteel espada large or code4 are the 2 I carry everyday I also love my Kershaw knockout m390 I carry the emerson kershaw 6034 a good bit to that knife stays sharp an run it on a strap an its hair popping in a few swipes really for the price I love it those are my 5 that I carry no matter what thanks pete
I don't sell my knives. I'm not a big collector type so I buy users or things that fillspecific use cases. With that said if I had to sell my knives the two I couldn't part with are both sentemintal. I got an old gerber bolt action from my grandfather as my first knife. Carried and abused that knife for years. It isn't a great knife but the sentementality means its safe. My first rat 1. It's my first good knife and was exclusively carried for a long time. Not the best in the word but it's seen me through a lot of challenges.
I don't understand that Buck. How does the lock not chew up your hand? Looks like a cheese grater on top of the handle or something. Also I'm surprised the Atmos and the Al Mar Falcon aren't there. My no sell is the Sage 5.
Do you have the ad-10, it too comes in black and silver, it's way better than the lawman, iv'e never held a lawman but i'm sure it is like holding a large pile of silverware compared to the ad-10
Uncle Randy approves you calling your knives a “piece”. Harkens back to the old days when men were real men and carried their piece around with ‘em all the time. What piece was that you ask? The Cold Single Action Army of course. Freaken’ Soyboy millennial!
Most are/were not safe from sale hahaha
haha! yes, just watching this back now to see how sad i feel
@@CedricAda you can always buy them again !!
I think most non-knife nerds think spyderco knives are ugly. It took me buying one, and using it to fall in love with spyderco.
Your channel instantly became a favorite with a single tropic thunder referance. Good job 😆

we need to start a gofundme to provide on-demand butter-roasted pork belly to that poor cat.
C-can I get one, also?

You are single handedly the best person on TH-cam!
nah, Jack Blacks on youtube now

I like the knife lab videos but your reviews and talking about specific knives are what got me hooked on your channel. Great video. Keep it up!
thanks for watching man! I try hard to ring all the bells!
That classic intro music tho... I would have thought you also had the kapara in those 7. Great video btw!
Pete has a couple of beers and forgets what he wants out of life.
knife that i weirdly really like carrying is the cold steel tuff lite in my back pocket. Great knife and carries great that way
I also like that a-100 design.
I woulda guessed that the Carribean would have made this list 👍
I have a spydiechef on pre/back order, I don't know which, and can't wait for it. Seems to have attained some legendary status.
"simple jack kind of simple"
So good haha
I have a lot of knives, and after watching this video i figured that I better start picking out my favorites. A fun exercise if anything...
Other than the emerson i either own or have had all them on my short list. Love the keen, its probably my favorite out of the 150 or so folders in my collection. Great picks.
Buck Marksman! I thought I was the only one who appreciated this knife format.👍
If anything proves that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then this video is it.
Perhaps perfect picks Peter!
But but but what about the Caribbean 😢, love Pete when he’s buzzed 😂 you’re awesome man I love this channel
On a more serious note, I've been really enjoying the vids of late, certainly got hooked on the cut tests and will remain so, but the more personal side of Pete's knife fetish is equally compelling. Keep up the great content dude and thanks!
thanks to the von banks family singers!
I live in a humid climate and hate sharpening M4, so S30V is more appealing to me. But I hate the recurve on the Mantra 3

Good list of blades. I couldn't part with any of those ever!
20cv Manix 2 Yojimbo2 Ad10 Ad15 and my old school small Voyager that I’ve somehow have kept for years even before I got the obsession for blades
WE Practic in M390. That's the one I can't let go.
The 940 and Massdrop make sense, but I’m with you on the green aluminium as the best version.
I'm drunk too but even I can see that the Emerson wasn't a 'chisel' grind...!!!
paul greenwood chisel edge, not grind 😬😬
@@CedricAda My apologies...
No Caribbean? Being in Florida that one will never leave my collection.
Haaaaaahahaha! The intro was so fuckin' funnnnyyyyyy!!!!
He WAS JUST LAYING THERE HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Left-handed Spydiechef enthusiast here. Don't underestimate flickable in face of thumbable.
if you can dream it, you can do it!
@FlamQ Dbltap Bah, righty compression locks seem to be my downfall. Always afraid that my caribbean will slip from my grip when closing it.
Basil is such a cute little prick
I have seven knives so this is right up my alley hahhaah
My list would be slightly larger but would include several of yours. I would include the Kapara, the Civivi Isham designs, and the Drop Gent. I really like some of the many Isham designs for their weirdness, but the are some that are just too weird...lol.

The way you describe the Keen is the same description for the type of woman I look for.

The only knives I might sell are my Massdrop Falcon & Gent. They’re decent knives, but we just never bonded.

Hey Pete. Does the Buck Marksman strap lock cause Hotspots? It just looks as though it would be uncomfortable after prolonged use.
not particularly, but then again, I havent used it for too many prolonged tasks yet. I’ll be sure to check it in my review
That buck lock reminds me of the French knife , actilam
Solid choices, to be sure-- btw, the haircut looks great.
heheh thank you Frank :)
I don't understand that Buck. How does the lock not chew up your hand? Looks like a cheese grater on top of the handle or something. Also I'm surprised the Atmos and the Al Mar Falcon aren't there. My no sell is the Sage 5.
What is that emerson I love it.
I thought the Al mar falcon?
Do you have the ad-10, it too comes in black and silver, it's way better than the lawman, iv'e never held a lawman but i'm sure it is like holding a large pile of silverware compared to the ad-10
that handle does look very complete
I've been eyeing that Buck for a while. That and the not-tanto version. How is it in hand looks cool but very un-ergonomic-cally-ish
Have you tried the Spyderco Caley 3,5? Never really got the attention it deserves IMO. Kind of a Delica de lux?!
i have briefly reviewed the caly, a noce knife but yes, strangely neglected!
My 5 would be
Delica zdp189
Mini grip with spydy hole
Spyderco Native 4 Discontinued
Emerson mini 7
ZT 052cf
But I have more I wouldn’t sell I have a Buck vantage pro perfect action and Buck 112 I bought when I was 16 in 1974
That Buck looks like a tire 😄
I kind of want one of those m4 Spydercos though
What if the Kapara had LC200N
I have an a-100 mini that I'll never sell. Simple and oddly comfortable (although I took off the clip).
those minis are rare and hard to come by! A real keeper for sure
@@CedricAda I have, however, been slowly reprofiling it. It's now half black, half silver.
I want a spydiechef so bad but they are all gone now.
Brain food? Yeah maybe the equivalent of a 7 pack of chicken nuggets.
I liked "on the display side" followed by nerd chuckle.
That Simple Jack reference tho
you muh-muh-muh make me happy
Relatively new sub, I’ve watched a lot of your fixed blade videos, any of those you will never sell? Or are you more of a folder guy?
All knives are precious except mtech and some buck knifes
You forgot gerber
And frost cutlery
And Smith & Wesson
Tac-Force
And z hunter
I really wish the blade stock of the 940 were taller. Just a bit taller. Ah well.
Do the BM 940-1! I love mine :)
its just sooo pricey here, $450!
@@CedricAda Yeah that is crazy! I understand now... maybe one day!
Fixed blades next please :)))
difficult video, ive just three pretty epic new ones in too. But I’ll work on it!
Your cat omg 😍
Commented before I watched. Well sorta
Native 1 s30v
Is that a recent video of Cedric? Looks like he might have fallen off his diet.
Good review, as always. Thanks.
basil? nah its just that angle, hea down a couple KGs
Basil, right. Glad he’s doing well.
Para 3 lightweight is my no sell. It's all individual taste.
I have a bunch of unsellable knives. But it's because they are unsellable.
“Unsellable” two months later sells all but three of his knives.
this guy gets it!
I haven't owned a knife that i won't sell.
All of them. I don't sell tools.
I have too many knives. How about a chainsaw review?
Wow really amazing knifes reviews video you have!!! (:^D
That intro tho
General Sherman bringing it back for a spin
@@CedricAda your son looks pitiful I pray he doesn't starve 😿
Nice
I guess Basil is less of a pill when he is not being man handled.
Kinda glad I don't agree with your choices 100%, means I can still learn a thing or two.. . or not.
hey man, you should really consider investing in a good mic. A solid one isn't too expensive, and could dramatically increase the quality of a video.
yeah I am working on that, I find the background noise more noticeable too lately
I'm not a fan of cats, but Basil is awesome in his chubby pri**itude.
