With mustard, less is more. The blade will patina where the mustard isn't. It's the vinegar that causes the patina. It may have something to do with the vinegar being exposed to oxygen, but I'm not sure.

There's something special about seeing someone take a knife that is touted as great and left in boxes and instead really put through its paces and giving it an honest review. Excellent.
For the retail price it should have better scale to blade length ratio, internal milling in the scales, a lock bar insert, lock bar over travel stop, milled pocket clip, better backspacer or standoffs, better Spydie Hole access from the lockbar side as it's easier for lefties to Spydie flick. This design is like nearly a decade out of date. Just my opinion though.
I know it's the hyped object of the moment but I do love it. I'd never pay that much for one but I get the charm. It just looks nice, especially the blade with that sweet clip point. Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts and a pattern just works. Also I think the blue anodization will look better over time with some signs of wear and a patina so do keep throwing rocks at it.
450 cuts of that rope is an awesome edge holding . You can use this thing for many years and never even need to sharpen it. Assuming you don't cut abrasive stuff every day. Good test!
Heheheee... love how you treat re-sael value. Got a Shaman in Z-wear, changed the edge profile and dyed the scales blue... it totally weirds me out that people buy knives as investments. Sure, if you don't like it sell it again, but buying for the secundary market is weird.

I'm pretty sure the resale value of that knife increased during every step due to the fact that it was fondled and deflowered by Pete. Knife lab certification is definitely a +$100 value add. Even in the certificate is made in MSpaint
I'm really pleased with mine. Definitely one of the best Spydies but I have, a few more I really like too. The m4 tanto DLC PM2, Maxamet PM2 come to mind. I just wish the PM2s had contoured grips.

I just took a scotchbrite pad to mine and removed the Ano. It left a nice hand rubbed satin look. Love it.
