Just checked the complete Walrus-pedal-line from Thomann because of this Video. They cover everything except the Wah-Wah. Seems like this one fits really well amongst the others. Sounds very interesting.
Their pedals are really good. I own this flanger and their chorus, the Julia. I'd love to try their phaser to complete the set! But I've got the EQD Grand Orbiter which does pretty much everything I need from a phaser.
Exactly! That’s what I meant with the title too. 😄 Everyone was expecting a Flanger last year when they brought out the stereo chorus. Now it is finally here and it’s as good as the Lillian and the Julia.
Really nice. I love walrus. I get this weird warble at the bottom of the wave with the depth past 3 o’clock. Also you can hear a small pop when switching on and off. But the pedals are so nice I keep coming back lol. I don’t have this one yet. Which is why I’m watching this video lol. I have the Julia and the Lillian.
I wanted to like BF-3 Flanger, but this pedal makes me justify spending almost double that of the BF-3. Was it worth it? Heck yes. The blend knob is killer feature and keeps even the weirdest flanger effect under control.
I just bought the pedal the other day and was just about to plug it in. You did a nice job explaining all the features and functions very clearly. Thank you and good job!
I love my tele, but those glassy tones from the strat are making me rethink my life - and they sound amazing with flanger! I wonder if I can get that by putting a strat neck pickup on my tele 🤔
Haha, I know what you mean man, strats are just beautiful sounding guitars. A strat neck pickup instead of the tele neck PU wouldn’t quite do it, you need a strat middle pickup combined with a neck pickup for that „position 4“ sound. That’s essentially a Nashville tele (tele neck and bridge PU + a strat PU in the middle). Best thing to do in my opinion is simply having a normal tele and also a strat. Both play very differently and inspire you in a different way. And that’s the most important thing.
Chorus/flanger pedals are very distinct. I love the sound but as a creator i find if used too much, one starts sounding like the Cocteau Twins or maybe The Cult’s She Sells Sanctuary. I like that Walrus created the momentary feature. If the pedal is bypassed, you can get small splashes of flanger glory without the effect dominating the song. Thorough demo on your part! I’m going to replace my current chorus pedal for this.
Yeah I find it often hard to place chorus and flanger in my music too. But if it fits the moment, it can be magical. I tend to like this kind of modulation effects really subtle OR way over the top. Haha!

Just got mine, yes there is a small bit of volume loss. I lost track of my guitar monitoring a recording along with the full mix when I clicked it on. Not a deal breaker for me personally, I’m not playing live. Other than that, it’s fantastic. They’re back on their modulation game after the way too-subtle Lillian.

Wow! I never thought a flanger could sound as good as my 1978 MXR M117, but this Walrus does!
Superb demo!
Love your playing, production, explanations.
I'm so glad to have recently found your channel.
Thanks so much man, I appreciate that a lot! Enjoy the videos! :)
Just bought the polychrome because of this video. The jams were engaging and informative to the different settings of the pedal.
So glad you like the video man, enjoy the pedal. It’s really good! 😁
Of course flanger can, BF-2 is the one of the best choruses i’ve ever heard.
This
The family lineage with Julia and Lilian is very apparent. An Walrus is just killing it with modulation pedals.

@@KrisBarocsi exactly, its kinda like the debate about Andy Summers. He used a flanger, but sounded like chorus.
That would be an Electric Mistress
@@elmerfudd1047 yep, but sounds more like chorus then flanger.
@@stanislavmigra flanger IS chorus, but with a different delay times

Sounds amazing. Your whole setup sounds great as well as the playing. Good review.
Thanks a lot! 🙌
Thank you for a very informative and well constructed video!
Thanks a lot Alan! 🙌
I wonder how this compares to the Thorpy Camoflange.
Great video 👍 How is the noise on this pedal? I love my deluxe mistress but it’s pretty noisy.
You just made a sale for walrus. What an awesome pedal!

@@KrisBarocsi noooo, I was already happy with my guitars xD don't give me ideas!
@@rahzark okay, sorry. What I was trying to say is that you DON‘T need a strat. They’re bad for you. Haha
Heeeey, thank you so much for the video! How can use this bypass mode?
Gotta admit, I bought it for the lizard. It's one of my better flangers, almost as good as my eqd Pyramids pedal.

I do....always! :-)
Hahaha! Luv ya dudezzzz! :D This one is only for you guys: "Hey Chris and Ami, the name is Kris Barocsi, welcome to Gear Corner!"
@@KrisBarocsi i honestly think this should be your new intro... just saying! hahah
When it's in momentary footswitch mode, is the sweep in a random part of the waveform or does it start at "zero"?
Well, what do s your favorite chorus setting ?
I've got those same socks
Good taste 🙌
Krozz Devices is the best flanger ever!
Wish this had the lag knob of the Julia.
The answer is Strymon DECO
Would be perfect if it had tap tempo like jhs emperor v2
Serious GAS
great and very elegant sounding flanger!
It really is. Thanks for watching Filipe! :)
Made where ?
Walrus Audio is based in Oklahoma, USA. It’s a small company full of music enthusiasts. They make their pedals right there. Cheers

Thanks Boomer! 👍
flanger is a very special pedal...
True! On the other hand EVH loved it so I think I’ll do the same. 😆
?????? Does it have any volume loss like my small stone?????
Nope, I haven’t noticed a volume loss at all. Haven’t gigged it yet though, that would be the real test for that.

Yes, I am returning mine. As you turn the D-F-V knob to the right, the volume drops even more so.
I like it more than Julia.

Did you check it in a blacklight? 😳
I haven't checked that yet. Gotta do now. Haha!
