Hello Noemi, you and Zsolt must be so proud of Cole. He is getting to be just as handy as his father is. My husband is an Engineer but he learned the trade of shoe repair from his father and we own a shoe repair shop. We work our normal jobs but on the weekends we repair shoes. Our two sons are in University studying engineering but they have learned the trade of shoe repair as well because at a very young age we would take them to work with us. It’s so nice to see your sons are learning their father’s trade! I also learned my father’s trade he and mon are chefs so I can cook like them and helped them in their restaurant when I was young. You gave me a great idea to dehydrate the zucchini! I think that’s what I will do with the last of my zucchini. That frozen treat you made looks DELICIOUS!!!! Your videos always make me hungry!!!!!! Noemi, you can buy liners for the dehydrator trays for when you want to dry something thin - I use them for fruit puree to cut into strips for snacks. If you have a silicone baking mat you could try that too, I think it would work the same way.

I put down parchment paper on my metal Excalibur racks. I haven't had any sticking problems since doing this. I also pulverize mixed dehydrated vegetables in my Vitamix to add seasoning to my soups. I keep the labeled mixed pulverized veg. in an empty spice jar.The dehydrated veg. will thicken the soups but will add flavor.

I love my Cosori, but I beat you to the punch and sliced tomatoes paper thin! Oh my what a mess! I guess we have to learn by experimenting! I didn't know you could use oil on your veges in the dryer. I guess if you eat them right away and don't store them it is fine. I love seeing the things you try and how you will use these in future meals. Happy drying!

Hi, they sell silicone type sheets for food dehydrators to use with making fruit leather. They usually will work for thin veggies too. Worth a try next time. I have an excaliber food dehydrator that I love! Betty in Texas

I've never tried it with squash but I do that strip method with zucchini to replace pasta in a lasagna or make lasagna roll ups!
The long strips can be put in a lasagna like dish! My aunt always puts a layer of veggies between her noodles and meat sauce.
I know I say this all the time, but you are a great couple. Your sons picked up a lot of height this summer. Good sons helping their dad.

Basically chopped zucchini garlic onion sautéed with tomato paste and sauce
Makes a great winter snack/side dish
