Lisa, this video just appeared in my feed. My husband is autistic and so is my daughter-in-law and her father. Cassie, my daughter-in-law, is 28 years old. She was fortunate enough to be diagnosed in her childhood -her family was living in Europe at the time and they tend to be ahead of the curve. Cassie advocates for herself and others with autism and has been instrumental in policy changes at the University she attends. I have learned so much from her. I know that my anxiety and depression are not the same thing at all and don’t compare to what you have had to overcome, but I do relate to a lot of what you talked about. If you find yourself in need of support, I am totally here for you and I know that Cassie would love to meet you as well. You take care and keep talking openly and sticking up for yourself. I know since I’ve been outspoken about my anxiety and mental health, I feel so much more in control and more centered. You’re an amazing young woman. Love you.
Hey Lisa! I saw a comment of you under an EXO video and decided to check out the channel of a fellow exo-l. I stumbled upon this video. I knew so little about autism and you just opened the topic for me. I’m so happy you’re showing us an inside view of how you perceive certain things in certain situations. I can see that you’re a really strong woman and I wish you the best to continue a good and healthy life. Greetings from a random 19 y/o old from the Netherlands🙋🏻♂️
I have a math LD too; Dyscalculia. I got diagnosed in 2005/2006 after living my whole life with it. Anyway, great that you made this video! More people need to be open about things because there's no shame.
Hi Lisa, I just had the chance to watch your video. There was a commercial in the 70s that ended, "You've come a long way, baby!" I would rephrase that now to say, Lisa, you have really come a long way!😊👍 I would never had known any of that without you sharing this with us. If you look at people close enough, you'll find we all are "weird". It's been going on since creation, but I'm happy to see you're in a better place......John😎
Ah oh, thank you John sorry it took me some time to reply to this I just noticed it now. Just been resting a bit trying to get over this anxiety / cold. keep the peace.
I have family and friends that deal with autism. I worked in healthcare for most of my working life and have dealt many times with patients that have varying degrees of the disease. I have suffered myself from certain mental issues but have persevered with the help of therapy and my family. You seem to be strong and unafraid to openly talk about your own issues. Kudos. Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas time. Peace on Earth...
Thanks for sharing that Lisa. Love your videos and how your interact with us in the VC. I bet your IQ is off the charts. And for me, be different ROCKS!!!
You said that you can get obsessed about certain subject matters. Apart from record collecting, what are those subject matters that you get obsessed with? Also, you said that people have asked you why you know so much random stuff. What kind of random stuff do you know? I have watched this video a few times now. I find it inspiring. You show so much courage. And there is a bit that I really like from 1:40 to 1:50 where you try twice to steady your eye contact. You look so cute when you hold that contact but I can see how hard it is for you. I have some nervous tics that my body does. Sometimes if I try to stop them happening, they build up and build up until I just can't stop it and they happen anyway.
@@johnbellamy3406 thank you for watching this video a few times John. For me the things that I'm obsessed with a certain subject matters. Like right at this moment I really have been into Amish / health documents. But I go through moments where I really get into certain subject like for a few months I was really into architecture so I watch everything about house building, houses design, and interior design. But that doesn't just stop at certain subject matters. I could really get into certain bands for a long. Of time right now I'm really into Queen so I've been immersing myself with everything Queen. But I've always been a bit weird I'll say because the one subject matter that I'm really into that a lot of people don't really get into is crime shows like Forensic Files, 48 Hours, 48 hours, and Etc. I've always been into those since I was in high school. Now when it comes to knowing a lot about certain subject matters I know a lot of useless information about celebrities and I know a lot about certain subject matters. I remember being little and knowing all of the car models and pointing them out to my dad. And knowing all of the state capitals. So just random stuff that a lot of people wouldn't really care to learn. Sorry about the nervous tics I do not know much about those. I hope everything gets better for you anxiety is not fun. Thank you for the kind words I really try my best it's hard at times but I try.
im also diagnosed with a mental illness but its so bad i dont want to say it in chat :P PM me if you want to know. lets just say syd barrett and me have something in common.

P.S. I wish I could play piano by ear, or any of the instruments I play for that matter. I am totally lost without sheet music 😂🎵🎶🎵
