Jay has admitted in a previous solo video that he is battling mental health issues and depression. He seems much better now, but I expect it took its toll on Amber and on their relationship. I believe they will emerge from all of this even stronger and Amber will remain with him not just for the sake of the kids but because their lover runs long and deep, they've been together more than a decade. They met in college in Oklahoma, he was from Wagoner and she was from Marietta I believe. Jay coached in Hugo for awhile. Both live and teach in Moore, Oklahoma
I follow a lot of reactors on TH-cam as I find reaction videos to be entertaining and affirming that old school music is in fact the best. One thing I've noticed is that several of the reactors I've followed have admitted to mental health problems similar to Jay. I don't know if there is something about this format that attracts people with mental health issues, but it seems to be more than a coincidence. Jay and Amber present as such nice people on their TH-cam channel, and until recently appeared to have a great relationship. But life is far deeper than TH-cam just as marriages are. These folks are all pretty young and as someone with a few more years under my belt, hopefully they will find their way to personal and relationship peace.
This is just speculation, but I wonder in hindsight whether J's mental health problems stemmed from Amber wanting to end things, not the other way around.

That's a shame, I always liked them as a couple we could relate to but after Jay's "Mental Health" announcement and now Amber's announcement and actions (and physical makeover) it seems pretty clear that there are marital problems at hand. I noticed in their movie reaction videos that the really violent films like Texas Chainsaw Massacre really bothered Jay emotionally and were not good for his mental state. Jay has admitted in a previous solo video that he is battling mental health issues and depression. He seems much better now, but I expect it took its toll on Amber and on their relationship. I believe they will emerge from all of this even stronger and Amber will remain with him not just for the sake of the kids but because their lover runs long and deep, they've been together more than a decade. They met in college in Oklahoma, he was from Wagoner and she was from Marietta I believe. Jay coached in Hugo for awhile. Both live and teach in Moore, Oklahoma
I follow a lot of reactors on TH-cam as I find reaction videos to be entertaining and affirming that old school music is in fact the best. One thing I've noticed is that several of the reactors I've followed have admitted to mental health problems similar to Jay. I don't know if there is something about this format that attracts people with mental health issues, but it seems to be more than a coincidence. Jay and Amber present as such nice people on their TH-cam channel, and until recently appeared to have a great relationship. But life is far deeper than TH-cam just as marriages are. These folks are all pretty young and as someone with a few more years under my belt, hopefully they will find their way to personal and relationship peace.
This is just speculation, but I wonder in hindsight whether J's mental health problems stemmed from Amber wanting to end things, not the other way around.

I started watching their channel, and J's channel in particular, (because he was by himself when I first watched it), because I thought it would be quite entertaining to watch young people of his generation reacting to the music that I grew up with when I was only half THEIR age!!
A few videos in Amber joined the mix and I was very entertained by that as well. She brought a new insight and her beautiful soul into the mix which I enjoyed immensely!!! I watched her evolve from someone who according to her was listening to pop music of the 90s and had never really heard much of the music that I grew up with!! I loved their music reactions together, but personal family matters must have their undivided attention. These are real people who go through the trials and tribulations of life like us all. The social media persona they projected made us love them, it was very entertaining and wholesome. But that was all for entertainment and whatever benefit they got from the Rob Squad channel. I don't know if I would like Amber and Jay if I knew them personally, so I would never speculate on who they are when they are not in front of a camera. I just appreciate the warmth and positivity they brought to social media and that is all that matters.
I liked their channel until I started noticing how peeved Jay was with Amber all the time. It was like every time she'd talk, he'll do this "mmm" thing as if he was subtly wanting her to stop talking. Is it just me? I stopped watching them becuase he kept doing that in every video. It always came across as very rude to me and like he didn't respect her. He's always rubbed me the wrong way. I unsubscribed because of that. I don't know their situation of course, I'm just sharing my observation.

Should people know all of their personal business? Nope. If you watched that Amber goodbye video and read between the lines, then she's saying her and J are done. They've probably been done for a while like others are saying. If you want privacy, then you shouldn't put your life on a very public TH-cam channel. Fame changes people and my guess is both of them changed due to their success. So sad. Many popular TH-cam couples end up in splitsville because of their own success.
