- Smash Remix for the Nintendo 64!!
Smash Remix is a gameplay modification of Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64, with the vision of expanding upon the original game with new characters, stages, and features while staying true to its core gameplay. All mechanics and original 12 characters are unchanged. This vision also involves having tournaments where the new characters are pitched against the old ones, all the clones being viable against the originals.

I remember when modders had trouble replacing fox with Falco.
I'm surprised the mod actually fits on a cartridge and can play on an N64
technology is so much better than it was in 1999, I'm not surprised at all. I'm sure the internals for this are like half the size of the original smash bros
i can't imagine a fighting game like smash bros taking up that much space in the first place

I just got whiplash hearing those original hit and stock sounds. So much nostalgia for smash 64.
I own an actual cartridge of this game and it has updated features such as level 10 cpus, stamina battles, home run contest, more stages and more.

Anything past the Melee-size roster is overkill and would fry an N64.

I picked this one up in early 2022 and it's still one of my most played games on the Nintendo 64.
I loved the OG Smash Bros. for the N64! Fun fact; this was actually the first Smash Bros. game ever released, and it came out in 1999!!!!!!

meh, if you know how computers work it's probably not that hard. you just have to know what each of the internal parts does and then download the content into it
The mod is amazing as it stays true to its graphics and gameplay.
Hopefully we see more characters join smash remix. Peach, Zelda, King K Rool, Snake, and any character would be peak and awesome. It's funny seeing Conkers in there too

there's lots of mods for all sorts of games
its a cheaply made clone cartridge that steals the actual work of the modders (the people who put the effort and dedication into modifying the game) and funds chinese factories that underpay their workers

Smash Remix isn't exactly what Smash 64 would look or be like if it had an additional 2 years of development time (in terms of which additional characters & stages are currently available in Smash Remix), but the SmashRemix-size is most certainly how big the amount of actual content would be like for Smash Bros on the N64, that's probably for sure!
(Maybe with a slightly fewer stages, though)

@@LaLunaFrancais It can’t. And when the game boots it shows a disclaimer saying you shouldn’t pay for Smash Remix. Don’t buy the “repros”. Get a flash cart (Everdrive etc.)

I have it on my flash cart on my N64 .It runs 60fps on original hardware with 10x the content. Probably the best smash mos pound-for-pound besides arguably PM. Smash remix has added more than PM by this point anyway tho.
you should have shown some combo footage from online so people can really get a taste of how cracked some of these characters are
After I abandoned ultimate due to having a lackluster roster, I was about to go back to Melee. But then Remix caught my eyes and it’s remarkable. It even has Maria! 😎

Sucks that you have the outdated version as 1.40 update just dropped that adds a ton more stuff and characters. Invest in an Everdrive folks. This cart might look nice, but you'll be unable to update it.
Man once i get the funds im going to buy an n64 and start collecting these. These are treasures.. the people modding these old school games are amazing. Shame nintendo is so bad at preserving their own stuff.

Fan remake? You're just throwing terms. Lol It's a mod adding in a ton of new content. A remake would be starting from the ground up and remaking the game as the name implies. Like Spyro's trilogy. They built a entirely now game, but it's a recreation of those old Spyro games. If you look at the code that makes up the game it's different, yet it plays and looks like the old games with beautiful new graphics because it was made to be that way.

The team making it are still updating and make newer versions, it's massive now. I think they're at update-1.40 now.

Fair warning to anyone wanting to play this on a physical N64, this mod requires the Expansion Pack in order for it to play. It will not work otherwise.
Goemon is AWESOME.
My favorites are still Marina and Conk but Goemon is pretty great.

You buy a flash cart N64 cartridge and put the game onto it yourself with a computer.
It's easy to do, you just need the flash cart.
I play it every week at locals!
It's top tier I don't got a 64 to play it though
You can get an emulator and the rom and probably even play it on your phone

@@crazedlunatic43 It actually turned out to be easier than i thought on PC, i used simple64 to setup banjo kazooie and it ran pretty well, i'd suggest using a real n64 controller though, as xbox and ps4 controllers are difficult to button map, as for mobile, I'll have to get back to you on that
