Aw Puddle is such a cute name for a salamander! Great looking enclosure. I didn't know that axlolotls can go through metamorphosis in certain situations! I thought they were only ever in their larval state. That's really cool. I suppose it's only when it's absolutely necessary for survival though huh?
Where I live in Utah, a permit is required to capture and/or possess a salamander. I have two as pets that I collected myself. I was required to take a training course (that I must retake every three years), pay a $10 fee (that I must pay annually for as long as I have the salamanders), register that I collected the salamanders with the state, and I am limited to how many I can legally collect/own (up to three collected per day, never to exceed 9 in my possession at any given time). It is also illegal to release them into the eild after housing them because they may have gotten a parasite or disease from my home that they would spread to the local population. Additionally, captive breeding of salamanders is so insanely rare that even though owners in Utah are required to report any breeding of their lizards and amphibians, tiger salamanders are not even an option for reporting on the website.
Like their smiley faces. Great job!

Yes they only do it if they are going through other stressors! And from my understanding it drastically shortens their lifespan afterwards.
That's a great look build! Lol they have some silly looking faces
Thank you!
