  • I designed and 3D printed a custom battery holder for my sony A6400 camera so that my batteries stay organized in my camera bag.

I like the idea to have a battery camera holder, to carrier all the battery in once

I printed hits out a few weeks ago. Absolutely loves not having batteries clanking around my bag. Thanks for sharing!

Glad someone else found this useful!

    I'm liking your approach!
    I have an A7S2 and A5100.
I use about four or five batteries in an evening and not all of them are equally charged.
I did something similar for my batteries but have been meaning to add some kind of slider that would lock in place somehow with the specific battery in the slot. I thought of adding a slider that would indicate full, partial or empty; so that I can stop taking out batteries and putting them in my camera just to check their power level.

Yeah that’s definitely missing from this solution. I kinda want to allow the batteries to go in multiple orientations and have green and red tape on either side to signify “charged” and “dead” to quickly identify what batteries I can use. Or buy a label maker and print “charged” and “dead” labels.

I’m working on virtually the exact same thing for three DJI drone batteries. All the same requirements as what you’ve got there except I’m trying to come up with a way that I can put the batteries in upside down or backwards or something to indicate that it is a dead battery.

upside down is not a bad way to think of it! I was thinking of indication of battery state as well. I commented on someone else above. Happy think along with you on this idea.

I was also thinking about this. I was thinking maybe allow the batteries to be put in either orientation and having green tape on one side and red tape on the other to identify “charged” vs “dead”. Or a label maker to print “charged” and “dead” labels.

maybe try doing it with tpu it maybe a lil less brittle

TPU would be less brittle but not what I’m looking for. I like the stiffness provided by PLA.

Cool solution for battery storage but look into getting a dummy battery and use an big power bank to power your camera for hours longer than these puny batteries.

I don’t really want to rig out my camera any further than I already have. I don’t really record for lengths of time that justify that kind of rig. Multiple batteries works for my needs at the moment. But it is a good idea to solve this issue all together.
