    Without a conductor, yet these players show their exceptional caliber in displaying the thrust of the tempo in Mozart's mind. Amazingly Beautiful!

    I just realized: I'm guessing the red worn by many of the musicians is a nod to the portrait of Mozart wearing a red jacket? I love it!!

      Our musicians always wear a flash of red on stage, but not sure it was an intentional nod that famous portrait!

    ..think i heard this symphony for the first time in the early nineties.. and dozens of times since.. and as with top class pieces like this, it doesnt diminish, in fact it gets better and better! Amazing.. such talent.. to be able to write something like this.. and then play it like these guys do..
    thankyou for sharing 🙂 x

    Arguably the most well-crafted symphony of all time. The fourth movement alone is staggeringly perfect counterpoint....

    A small, almost chamber ensemble and great sound… If Mozart ever performed this symphony he would liked it to be played this way.

    • @ViceroyoftheDiptera
      @ViceroyoftheDiptera 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It's not really an interesting touch (nor is it odd), it's just what one would call a historically informed performance. Conducting in Mozart's time was not what it is now (that came around Mendelssohn's time), and it was very common for the orchestra to be led by the first violin.

    Inicio mal como todos menos Karl Böhm. Nunca a go,pe, pero como cortando jamón.
    El último movimiento se luce aunque no dominan el sonido como volumen, entero. Pero como orquesta quasi barroca mucho mejor que las sinfónicas. Simplemente porque lucen la percusión y los bajos. Normalmente éstos mueren en orquestas "clásicas" en un mar de violines.
    En este sentido, muy iteresante.
    Mozart es un desconocido para orquestas de música antigua*. ¿Por qué? Entre tantas, también ésta - 3 movimiento siempre demasiado lento, 4 movimiento dominado por violines, inicio quasi pizzicato... solo orquestas sde sonido de época sabrían darle el volumen rico del que necesita.
