It’s driving me crazy hearing how people are saying 2016-2021 is 5 years, because 21-16 is 5. THAT DOESN’T APPLY HERE!! 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 ARE SIX YEARS. SIX YEARS. NO 21-16 = 5. SIX SEPARATE YEARS!!!! THERE ARE EVEN SIX TIMESTAMPS!!
い ぉヴぇ よう
But it's a span of 5 and a half years according to you.
If I were using your logic, my art from 2019 to now in 2021 would be a span of three years, but I started in I think November of 2019, so that's nowhere near a full year lol
Get trolled 🗿

@Jajsjdmdm Skskkdkdkd aot had the perfect mix of nonrealistic effects that you would love to see be realistic and a good plot for a geek who likes reading about military tragedy.
Imma show this to anyone who claims they can't draw when they really really want to. This is an excellent improvement showcase.
Yes yes yes
@Cento MC it’s important to remember that everyones journey is different but with hard work you’ll get really good one day I believe in u!!!
@Cento MC it's not a race mate. As long as you're improving, no matter how slow, you'll get there.
@Cento MC how often do you analyze what you need to improve and research how to improve it? Then of course actually practice.
I started drawing ever since I was BORN, I still drawing till now and I can't see any improvements despite on how easily I get distracted lol... for example like im doing right now, I'm supposed to practice, but instead im watching and writting this comment reply

I'm 19 and I feel like I am making this guy's middle school art....
I draw anime as well. Been making crazy progress and I've been drawing for I think 9 or so months? I am 20, though I was 19 when starting (like actually starting/practicing)

Man, you’re so hard on yourself. You’ve made so, so much more progress in just five years than I have in the last 15+, lol. Keep it up, I can’t wait to see what you do next!
What I'm getting from this is the best way to practice is to have a girlfriend with a lot of OCs.

How could you persist with drawing? A lot of people I've asked tell me that they just like drawing, so they kept doing it cause they like it and as a result they got better. It's not as if I don't like drawing, but everytime I DO draw these days it's felt more stressful than fun. It makes it difficult for me to stay tenacious. Always nice to hear artists' perspectives
the way I do it, you should work on your studies the parts you wanna improve on first then after that you can put it to the side and draw whatever you like. Maybe even put what you learned into the drawing too !!
Maybe your poses are too repetitive? Maybe all you do is draw people? Maybe your art doesn’t have enough funk? Maybe your art is starting to stop improving and you feel stuck so you need to look for ways on how to improve it by enhancing your skill? Maybe you feel stuck doing only one medium of art? Also, it sounds like you think every drawing needs to be perfect. Even if you do digital art, you can still have a sketchbook by saving art pieces into a file and making it act as a sketchbook. Sketchbooks are your best bet to bring the ugly and the drive out of your art.
Edit: remember you don’t need to draw regularly. Take some time to do other stuff. It’ll ruin how you view art and you’ll eventually feel turned off from it. I hope you can fix this and continue art!
bro just do some fucked up shitpost art
i was in a art block and when i was going to draw bodies it looked like trash
then i just activated shitty mode and i made a drawing about mexicans trying to kill me because i had a taco, it was fuckin fun to draw and the body looked decent again, thanks mexicans
I agree w/ all the people here, because I just got out of that slump you are feeling, and all I did was look up a tutorial of something I wanna try, and then doing it, and it was so fun lmao
I also participated in a competition, which gave me a time limit for me, and weirdly enough, I had more fun than without a time limit. I also had a topic to draw to, so that I guess gave me a clearer and more creative idea of what I wanna draw (I was not exactly prepared for the competition lmao, I actually just participated because I could get points to redeem myself on school, because our school worked that way, you get more points, you have a higher chance of getting up a grade, and suffice to say I was freaked about covid and ended up butchering my studies, so now I'm relying on my art skills and praying to progress lmao (yes, my school is very strict, so slips ups make a lot of difference...))
So just change something, it could be the pose of your character, it could be the medium, the style, anything. You can also whip up a tutorial you have interest in and follow that, or you can give yourself a time limit to just freak everything up because you might be a perfectionist like me, and freakin up the project isn't exactly a comfortable option for you. Giving it a time limit makes you do all the crucial parts first instead of focusing on all the details you think is not good enough, when in reality no one would even notice. By the time your done with the time, you already have a full drawing in your hand.
These are the stuff that worked for me, idk if it'll work for you though, so don't get defeated if my suggestions don't help, it's probably only me anyways lmao XD
🤡
I LOVE looking back at old art and seeing that improvement. I love looking at other peoples old art too, because you realise that they were in your shoes back in the day too
Dude, you’re a great inspiration for me and many others who want to improve at their art. I found your content recently and I’ve watched all of your videos to help with my improvement. My favorite thing about you is how clearly you explain how to do advanced techniques. Keep up the great work! I look forward to your future videos!
The improvement you did over the years have given me the motivation to start drawing again ✨🌱 ty! :D
Boy!! You have improved super fast in A short time it took me years to get decent from drawing As a kid to adult. You got this good in like 7 years which is insane. You are way to hard on your self.
I always watch your tutorial art videos whenever I feel lost at drawing... I feel motivated now after watching this one ^_^ good to see how you made so much progress! I hope you make more tutorials like lighting and simple background ones!
On my way for your Patreon.
Thank you very much for sharing your story with us, it's very inspiring and it motivates me even more! But unfortunately all this made me realize that I am VERY late on my passion compared to you and others artist, it is time for me to wake up.
Whether it is for tutorial videos or your good humor / will that you share with us on daily. Thanks SomeNormalArtist (but not that normal for me
Seeing your art progress is actually amazing. You're an inspiration, dude!
Congratz on finishing High school !!

I like to watch these videos to see how other people's art were when they were 14 and make myself feel better about my own art so i can keep drawing and make better art.
I've seen this man's whole career over all these years, youre great bro keep it up!
Happy graduation dude, wishing u the best of luck! I’m graduating tomorrow as well and I hope to keep grinding to improve this summer and hopefully become a concept artist
Hey man, really cool to see your journey laid out like this! I envy your rendering skills so much.
This is such a good self-roast session lmao
Thanks for the insight on your progress dude, it's great motivation to keep going so I can have a moment like this.
you learned shading really quick its all so nice
I had a bunch of the same inspirations when I was getting into art! Very fun to see how you improved! Great work!
I'm amazed by how much and fast youve improved from 2016 to 2019! I was already drawing digitally at that time, but 2020 was when I really started to take drawing seriously again and now you're way ahead of me!
12:28 Bruh, that looks so much like Yato's costume, wth. Nice.
thanks for showing your progress! I wish I kept all of my old art just to look back on them (I hate keeping old paper because they attract so much damn insects. I only draw traditional ,'C).
55:09 Dude... The hip dips... I love it!
I am glad that you can upload more! I love your videos :D You could be a great teacher
I got inspired by your art journey to start mine. Thanks for your tutorials, they are very helpful (the April Fools one made me laugh). Keep drawing, you can do it! Waiting for the next ones on IG :)
Now I know why I improve so slow, Its because I dont realize and correct my mistakes
I watched the whole video, fun to laugh a long with you at your old artworks. It made me realize that we critique ourselves too much. Some of the things you thought were cheeks i really liked. Others were kind of questionable 😂
Re draws are always super fun, I was actually gonna do one yesterday so it'll be cool to watch this vid
I love this guy, definitely ur art is very inspirational bro.

I can tell by your artstyle during 2017 you were inspired by sassucchi XD I was inspired by her colors and style at one point that my art back then looks pretty similar to yours too ~ Im really happy to see that all the progresses grew to who you are now as an artist :3

Same man, I feel you. I did that as well, I show it to my friends and I feel I did something cool whenever I draw anime 🤣
Youre only in highschool but your art is already really impressive. No doubt u will become one of the art gods.
I'm glad I got recommended this vid because I've seen people get so much better in their art in just 2 years and I have tried to improve for one year and I see some results but not the masterpieces some made, so I was starting to feel down, but now this looks like my kind of pacing. Anyway, love A Silent Voice as well and Sora No Otoshimono was the anime that really made want to start drawing ^^
Loved this video dude! It was really funny and I thought I shared a lot of the same beginner artist problems with you
4:50 imagine if your parents never said that! we would've never seen the somenormalartist we have today. your parents are awesome!

I think you should take this drawing and redraw it! I like the colors so I think it’s be interesting to see what it looks like with everything else improved
Wow, your progress are incredible, this video was very enjoyale to watch, thanks for sharing and congratulations for your talent and determination !
It's cool to see how much you improved in 6 years, but honestly I think my favorite part is just seeing the improvement inside of each year! Even that first year has an ENORMOUS quality increase. Very good.

Honestly my mom was the reason why I continued art I had and still have shitty art but her rooting me on and my art teachers in middle and high school helping.me is why I'm here doing art today...
Congratulations dude!!!
man im super jealous of that tidbit you gave at the eye drawing, my parents don't give a damn about what I draw unless architecture is involved somehow.
I like how he dissed himself lmao
I started drawing in 2012, I really regret letting my mental health lapse and not pushing myself harder on art until this year. It hurts to imagine where I could have been if I hadn't of given up.
I love this video and how you improved! I also didn't know you were so young too. Good work. :)
This really inspired me to draw more!! Thank u so much TvT
It's neat seeing you actually like your second year art. Makes me hope I won't despise my older art too.

I just realized your 2017 art looks a lot like unOrdinary's old shading style
everytime I looked at my old drawing, I would just cringe so hard until I turn into a ball of meat
You looking back at your own art is literally so relatable but the only difference is that you’re *slightly* more tame 😂 your improvement is excellent! Literally Love your art!

Don't give up bro
Please don’t give up he’s been drawing for a long while hard work will definitely get you where he is
4:54 years ago if my parents found out I'm drawing some cartoon or anime characters whatsoever they would do the aggressive shouting at me. they think doing art is just useless and a waste of time that doesn't help me with anything in life
they just dont want you to become r18 artist
I understand you
That's interesting. We seem to have progressed in similar ways - the face shapes, the anatomy, the hair, the clothing folds, the poses! Haha it's quite nostalgic
