Hello Jacque! I cannot believe that it is only one year ago that you started knitting. So many beautiful garnments you have made. I have knitted already for decades, but still have not got the courage to start on a sweater or a cardigan. I only make small things, socks, mittens, scarfs and shawls. You are a brave girl!
@@jacqueismaking The shawls have opposite effects. The pink shawl brings out her hair color and your eyes. It makes a person look up. It draws someone to your face. The Andrea Mowry does the opposite. It draws people to your clothing and what you are wearing.
Lessons were learned, but you made beautiful items. I love your enthusiasm, and that you are not afraid to try things. I think you can call your first year of knitting a success, and looking forward to seeing what you make in 2025. ☺️
Keep going with the socks! I find adding mohair to fingering weight yarn makes the sock a lot warmer and cozier. I wear my thinner socks only when things warm up. I'm also a 2 at a time (mostly toe up) sock knitter. I do not like counting rows if I don't have to! You could fix the pair where one is too long and just rip back and redo the toe. Use the stripes in the pattern to guide you. Some people also knit the socks concurrently, though again, I'm too lazy. I would do that if it was color work, but then I would rejoin them as soon as possible.
Hi Jacqueline next time you try a zipper, add a thicker strip of interfacing or material on either side of the zipper to stiffen or strengthen the sides of the zipper. Hope this helps
Love your video! You are such a fun, positive and bubbly personality! You obviously have become a great knitter in such a short time - it is amazing! With the different beanies that are turned not out exactly right, go ahead and rip'em and make another hat with an other pattern, or the same pattern with adjusted length or width or wharever. I am also " a beginner knitter" and have started all over with several projects - and have finally gotten the desired end result. This is a learning experience for sure! Admiring your honesty! Every failed project is a step forward! Have a wonderful this year!
Loved your sock saga 😅 I went back to knitting specifically for socks, and I’ve made so many pairs in the last year and a half. But I’m still tweaking the sizing and trying to get the perfect fit! I learn something from every sock that I take into consideration when knit the next one.
Your knits are beautiful! When i first started knitting socks I learned how to knit them at the same time so they are both always the same. The other advantage is they are both done at the same time.
Best video ever! I was laughing so much with you. Honestly, so so impressed with your skills. I’m totally here for the sock saga. You’re totally gonna nail the socks in 2025! Loved the lessons you learned, as well. Every time I see your Feel Good Shawl, it makes me want to knit one, but I’m so intimidated by brioche. I always do fisherman’s rib instead 😅. Great video, as always, Jacque! ❤
I am so glad you enjoyed the video, thank you! 😂 I was laughing while editing it haha. You have to try brioche! I feel like Andrea Mowrys tutorials really helped me pick it up quickly.
Try throwing your sabai top in to the washing machine. And not in a delicate wash, throw it in with your sweaters and jeans etc. I did it by accident and noticed that the yarn and fabric got more structure and shape in the wash. Now I wash my Line and Drops Belle tops and t-shirts in the washing machine all the time.

Love all the colours you chose Jacque! The bright blue and white contrast of your Lumme is especially gorgeous!! ❤
It's one of my favorites too! 😊

It is such a journey with socks! I love that you learn something each one too!

That is so so smart!!!
Try a ribbed sock. They fit really well!
I definitely need to do this!!!

You get it, Stephanie! I am so excited to continue to refine through the next year.

I am not a coloring expert, but I find it hard to believe you are actually an Autumn.
I’m probably between an autumn and a spring, but in my color analysis looked best in blue-autumn shades! Definitely warm.
