I love Zac Brown Band and this song may be a bit out of the norm for them but it is a fantastic song. People, lighten up! Just because you play one genre does not mean you cannot step out of it to do a song that speaks to you. Wow, there would never be anything new if all thought along your lines. I've gotta say, my favorite thing about ZB is that he does whatever he wants with his music. This guy really loves music, all genres, all styles. Also, he is one of the few musicians I can think of where all their songs - whether they stick to their roots, or drastically stray from them - are on the charts. Keep doing what you love Zac! We'll keep loving you for it!
Zac Brown Band has some of the best range in the business. They can get as country as the best, and then do a throwback dance/pop song with some funky beats. I like how they experiment like this.
This song is amazing! Blending country with the EDM style... It works great! People hating on it so much. I think it's great to see them try something different and succeed at it! This will get TONS of radio play

Country radio plays the most generic, formulaic, unoriginal of music. I love ZBB and they have been one of the few (and I mean FEW) truly great acts being played on country radio. This song...no this whole album...it completely shreds their credibility of being unique and original because they are chasing trends instead of producing quality music. Country radio has moved the genre so far from country that it doesn't know where to go anymore. Thank god radio has finally started giving Chris Stapleton some airtime. Maybe some quality will start to return. Maybe.

i saw zac brown band in concert last night. i didn't know every song, but i loved all of them. and, for the record, i sobbed during 'my old man'.

when I listened to it: 9/10
there are very VERY few pop songs that I like (one out of every thousand or so) but this one is one of the ones that is actually good. not good like some country songs like homegrown or drinking class, but it's still good.

ZBB has shown that intermingling of genres can be a good thing, Country-House might actually be something I hope to hear in the future.

I find it ironic how people complain about this song sounding pop, I have been a fan of country for over 30 years and it has ALWAYS evolved towards pop/rock. Rarely do you find a number one country hit that sounds more country than the hits of 5 years before. 20 years ago an artist would have been crucified if he recorded a hip hop feeling song like dirt road anthem but nowadays its a hit. If it sounds good, enjoy it, if not listen to something else, just dont whine when genres evolve.

Good music is good music no matter the genre. It's actually a really good thing to blend music genres/styles because it gives a whole new feel and sound that nobody has ever heard before (therefore the song will stand out amongst other songs). The keys to being a good artist is loving all kinds of music and whatever types are your favorite you should bring into your own music. An artist should NEVER feel like they have to "specialize" in a specific genre, if they WANT to then that's a whole different story but doing the same types of songs over and over get veryyy boring. And I think people forget that we can listen to a song whenever we want but singers have no choice but to sing their songs all the time for the studio and shows so an artist that doesn't limit themselves to a specific genre or style is a smart artist because they have a variety of songs to perform without getting bored. And it makes it more fun for fans because that way no matter what kind of music a person likes they will have at least one favorite song from an artist that doesn't box themselves in. Also, that artist has "the element of surprise" and mystery to them and for me, that's one of THE most important thing about an artist. An entertainer should NEVER be predictible.

Ok people, this is going into the pop section of music BUT they still produce authentic country. Most of the artist these days like Sam hunt and Brantley Gilbert ARE pop singers but they classify their selfs as country singers. So before y'all start getting mad at ZBB start thinking and realize that other artist depend on pop to survive in country. So yes this is a bit popish but it still has that country feel. The lyrics and the instruments are country they r making them sound like a pop song. So if u don't like it bc they went into pop a little bit then just go away.

He was tired of songs like "that's my kind of night", where EVERY SONG on country radio was talking about tailgates, beer, and dirt roads, and having it be a essentially a slow rap. Whereas zac, who is not owned by any label and writes his own songs, made an album where literally every song is a different genre, this one happened to be pop/techno but with real instruments and clever lyrics. Country stations are playing it, but zac hasn't tried to pretend it's country or anything like that. It's pop and he owns it, but it's actually well written.

さんトム If you read my comment, then you would see that I acknowledged the guitar, and yes there is also a banjo. There are no "drums" on this track. These are samples programmed on the computer, not played by an actual drummer on an acoustic kit. Same goes for the "keyboard". I'm not here to spread hate on the song, I just left a comment to give some people a little knowledge on what they are actually hearing. They aren't "real" instruments, they are programmed samples just like every other pop/dance song you hear. Point being, there is a lot less musicianship that goes into something like this. 80% of this song was programmed on a computer. Oh, and "lol".
