Have to love how little faith From Soft's writers have in humanity when there are suicide weapons bringing about an extinction event and humans are still busy forming tribes and killing each other for global dominance.
in a way, it's realistic, if humanity gets too much power into their hands, they will use whatever weapon they can use to wipe out other humans just for the sake of global dominance, wars only for ideals, wars for money, wars for territory, wars for controlling one singular country billions of humans cannot cooperate with each other and the remaining few innocents are killed for proposing peacekeeping ideas like protecting mother nature for example.

The original designer for the series mechs, when presenting the idea, called it an "armored core system," wherein the torso unit was the core piece, the center where the most important parts were housed, and it was covered in armor, with other pieces to give it more protection with arms and legs to let it move and fire back. I'll never quite understand why the green quaddie lost.. building it ingame, it's a perfectly-designed quad AC, with a railcannon and all, far more than enough to blast apart the biped if piloted by anyone with even a modicum of experience.
I think honestly the protag AC shown in the intro is better suited to win if for nothing else than having an open space to abuse flight and H+ shenanigans, like it does in the arena match in-game. The chosen map for that fight is limited and close range to prevent it from basically picking shots at you from mid range at high altitude with its hand rail gun.

Pretending the quad AC is the player, it still has a clear advantage over BJ's single pitiful hand-railgun (ingame, the advantage of railguns on quads isn't power, it's mobility on quads) and overall shoddy build. I guess BJ stands more of a chance given that cutscenes always buff the shit out of blades? Even then, it generally lies in the quad's favour.
@@Derpy-qg9hn the opening CG is pretty funny in a way since BJ's combat style is almost completely aerial in-game. Personally I think it's not out of the realm of belief that BJ could dash that fast on the ground (it's using the most powerful boosters IIRC) and if they have H+ like most all of the upper tier opponents in the game, then they'd be able to boost for an extended time as shown in the intro as well. All that to say, while the Ladon 2 is a great rail gun, it has a long charge time for its shots, and its lock box is small. Getting in close very quickly and taking out the arms is a good strategy, if reckless, but BJ had already lost its main form of ranged engagement from the first shot. They're also in a tight urban setting, and the quad's pilot is clearly not as skilled or calm under pressure as BJ's, as they didn't think to boost away from the blade charge. They probably thought the Ladon 2 and machine gun fire would suppress it, but they were wrong. Machine to machine, I still think BJ takes it, because it can fire missiles at range between rail gun shots and has high mobility, with OP-I installed. The quad's main disadvantage is the high energy drain of its legs paired with the Ladon 2. Without OP-I (at least as seen in the intro) it won't have the energy reserves to outmaneuver BJ.
