I know putting out all this extra content is really time consuming for you, just want you to know how much it's appreciated. It's almost like a visit with you personally while you go about the day to day things you do with your greenhouse, fishroom, fish and plants. Thanks for giving us extra time with you and your projects.
It seems like yesterday that you just put all the little critters out. Now you have your hands full, again. LOL It’s been so much fun watching mise grow and following your “ Tubbing” Journey. Have a wonderful evening Rachel
does anyone else get all excited about a fish she finds and calls it by its name and have no idea what that fish looks like but still squeal like a little girl? might be just me LOL
Not gonna lie here, I clicked for the thumbnail, but stayed for the babies. I love gouramis! Thank you for doing what you do. I will be starting an aquaponic system soon and appreciate your content.
Dwarf sparkling gourami's (Trichopsis pumila) were the first 'special' fish I ever bred! I really love those tiny noisemakers! 😁 And to be honest, seeing the videos about emptying the tubs is really enjoyable to watch! Giving me inspiration for the next summer! 😁
what's that awesome water fern looking thing? I have no idea what that is. So cool you have so many fish, bins, tanks, etc... so jealous. you, your fish and plants are all awesome!! saludos desde Costa Rica PS 'look for shiny eyeballs' love the quote. hahaha jajaja
I know labyrinth fish aren't always your cup of tea. But you should def try working with more of them outdoor! At least those small enough to have win some your affection in the past like the honey gourami and maybe even licorice gouramis and wild bettas.
I’d love to see the sensitive plant spread out on the lawn outside. I can’t get over how well your fish bred in the tubs. I’ll be moving a 250ltr tank outside in our summer, can’t wait!
this was my first year putting sparkling gouramis outside this year as well! I put a group of 8 adults and so far I have pulled all 8 (which are massive!!) and 150+ fry!!! needless to say it was a success!!
Yes please!!! Measure the sensitive plant!!! Would love to know!!! Sooo glad you're getting lots of critters this year. Can't wait until you start shipping again!! 💖💖💖
Well put a few pairs of guppies in my pond with 9 goldfish. 5 months later I am swimming in semi-fancy guppies and some of the color morphs are amazing. Yellow bodied female with black tails and a green saddle. Just did a quick dip net 4 times and pulled about 75.
I've really enjoyed this following your greenhouse series and i'm kinda sad that it's coming to an end. It's such an interesting project and it's very cool to see the progress. Plus your bog garden has really inspired me to do a similar project next summer.
So amazing. Breeding like rabbits, must be romantic moonlight by night. It would be interesting to see the length of that plant. Loving these daily vids.
New to watching. I know this video is old but why not keep a bucket or large glass jar for the discard with some of the water because there may be babies stuck in the roots. I'm sure you thought of this by now.
You should try Chocolate Gouramis, sometimes they need live foods like Daphnia and Cyclops, Mosquito larvae. But worth the effort. Dwarf Honey Gouramis would also do well and even Bettas would do well in your tubs. Kuhli Loaches (I know get freaked out by them, but they have such cute little faces) would do so well in the tubs.
Cool video. Have you ever thought about having some compost piles inside your greenhouse. Natural heat and might let you have fun out there for a bit longer.
Congrats on your fry, what's that long vine called? I would love to see how long it is, and maybe get a start. Where did you get that huge net? I can't get endlers here, all I can get are fancy tails. i have to keep a lid on my guppies, bc they jump. Do you sell your fish?
Rachel, I have a quick floating plant question, have you ever used Bacillus Thuricide to treat for pests eating floating plants, lily pads water lettuce etc? What do you recommend that is fish and snail safe for combating these pests?
So exciting when you get baby fish. My 3 sparkling gourami recently died though :( Actually got them b/c of your species spotlight video. Saw them for sale at a LFS and snatched them up :) Great little fish
Sparkling Gourami were the original nano fish. I kept them 35 years ago! Don't mix them with emperor tetras! I once found an emperor with a sparkling in his mouth! One eye in the top jaw and the other in the bottom. It didn't end well for the sparkling ;-( Great vid!
Rachel, ... Great Video as usual. :-) However, ... I think it's time you get a couple more specimen containers for video and photographs. Those look like they have been used for testing sandpaper.
I just can't figure out why: I have no luck with CPD's or Angel fish,.. They'll live about a week or two at most then die off!! I have Discus( many claim to be difficult to keep) no problems at all. Also a variety: endlers, guppy, molly, tequilas, platy,. cherry, rosy, odessa barbs,. Red jewel, fire-mouth cichlids,. Australian Rainbows,. Golden Killifish,. Kribensis,. Otocinclus,. Cory catsI can't name them all(take all day)This was just for general idea of fish types i currently house in 30+ tanks varying in size. It's just those types mentioned. My PH lvls, temp, hardness, Ammonia, Nitrates/Nitrites,etc,..are normal. I can't figure it out. Any suggestions i'd appreciate.
I have wisteria as a floating plant and the male liked to make his bubble nest under a curved leaf. I must have magic well water because they were spawning only a week after adding a male to the tank. The croaking is louder than I expected too. 😁
So, I know this is a pretty old vid now, but about that bladderwort... Those eat aquatic worms. So, if you have an annelid issue, I wouldn't pull the plant that actively cuts back their population?
Hey you should get a "tiny computer" (a RasPi !!! A Rasberry Pi) , and , a waterproof webcam ???? Then you can toss that bad boy camera right into your tanks? .... :-D
Greatest vid you've ever done!..I just can't say why- wink. Ah,Rachel you are not going to heat the greenhouse in winter? No economical way? You should get the greenhouse business to sponsor or fund you for that. Sounds like a nice trade off.
I know you have loads of experience, but I could not help but wince a little at the fact that you said labyrinth fish do not require filtration. I think I know what you meant but to say that knowing so many people will go and do that to their bettas makes me feel a little worried. Other than that great video as always.
I have a video about beta care where I stress space and filtration. Outdoors is very different then in a small glass box but I appreciate you pointing out the poor wording.
My first few videos, & Im having trouble figuring out what exactly she does. Im not trying to be rude, seems interesting that shes getting these fish from plants, but then she takes them into fish room, i dont have great volume but I swear Ive heard her say "I eat them" a few times in other videos, one I know was in that blue and cherry shrimp video, but that doesnt make sense cuz clearly these are species we wouldnt eat, so it couldve been they are fed to others or feeding the shrimp themselves, idk like I said it didnt make much sense to me. I cant figure out what exactly she is doing with the entirety of the plants and fish room. If anyone could explain, that would be great cuz I'd really like to know exactly what it is shes doing with the plants and the fish in the tubs and then moving them to fish room. I could eventually figure it out by watching a lot more videos, but it be hard to find where info is in so many videos, I'd like to understand a bit more of what I'm watching, thx.
+Getthat Cornouttamyface oh, ok, thank you but do you know what she's doing with the plants and why she is using them instead of just breading the fish directly from her fish room?
Moving the fish outside allows them more space, and endless supply of water bugs and unicellular algae to graze on, and the natural shifts of the seasons which makes for a great breeding season and exceptional coloring as well as fast growth.
The plants are overwintered each year to be reused. They have long and unique root structures that are perfect spawning mops for the fish, and hides for baby fish

Rachel O'leary had me playing with my Earphones there for a minute (thought a broke ANOTHER pair!!!)
I must have accidentally clicked on some setting. I am not very savvy
Still a good video. Content was good and that is what really matters.
The sensitive plant look like the same species as the one we always eat here in Borneo. ☺️
I know putting out all this extra content is really time consuming for you, just want you to know how much it's appreciated. +1
Yes, very curious about the sensitive
had to look it up lol Mimosa pudica, touch-me-not, soon as i saw the pics i was like o yea >_

I have these gourami’s they are so underrated, catch them in the right light they are absolutely beautiful.
Your thumbnail is WHOA =)
I think these are my favorite videos you do. Its like going into the wild and dipnetting lol.
I've wanted sparkling gourami ever since I saw your spotlight video! Glad they did so well outside.
I love these bin videos!! I never thought it was possible to keep fish, let alone shrimp, in a tub outside. Very interesting! 😊
great to see the big boys doing well
Love the thumbnail 👍

Rachel. May I ask where you bought your green house kit?

@@RachelOLeary thanks so much! Happy New you to you and family!!
Wow!!!!!!! Those calico fishies are gorgeous!
Your bio lab skills are impressive, and for us aquarists thrilling.
Thank you for your passion for this hobby.

That sensitive plant is absolutely incredible!
Nice find! Lucky you :)..I just could not breed my Pearls whatever I tried...
Awesome!! Great surprise!
Love your shows
I am loving the daily videos, and seeing the collecting process from the tubs! These are super informative and interesting :)
New to watching. I know this video is old but why not keep a bucket or large glass jar for the discard with some of the water because there may be babies stuck in the roots. I'm sure you thought of this by now.
Love your videos Rachel! Keep up the good work! Cheers and beers from Romania! ;)
How crazy is this? I just came to read info on sparkling gourami fry because I just found 100s of nose up fry! Grats on yours!
What sort of ambient and water temp fluctuations are you seeing? Are you only heating tubs via ambient temps?
I love your setups!
Great video. Much enjoyed, thank you!
Does the high colour remain on the fish if they are removed to indoor tanks, or does it die down?
Love the baby fish!

Love your videos
how many galons are your tanks?
Rachel where did you get your greenhouse? I need that in my life.
I got it from this website: www.littlegreenhouse.com/growmore.shtml
Ok thank you
paint the ceiling white.. local zoo did this for a fish show we had and it dropped the temp substantially in just a few hours. still had all the light
i have to worry about runoff because i collect all the water to feed my bog.
Paint the inside...
Yes! Please measure the sensitive plant. My guess is 18-20ft
Yeah, measure it. My guess is 15'. Coo, I think I'll move my sparkling gouramis out in a tub to try it out now. Thanks for the tip.
Awesome!! You inspired me to move some white clouds outside this year. I live in Arizona so it will be awhile before I collect.
Congrats on your fry, what's that long vine called? I would love to see how long it is, and maybe get a start. Where did you get that huge net? I can't get endlers here, all I can get are fancy tails. i have to keep a lid on my guppies, bc they jump. Do you sell your fish?
Love all the content you are putting out !!
I love your videos!! Must be a lot of hard work for you ^.^
Everytime you talk about the sensitive plant, your eyes light up, lol. I feel that way about chickweed, LOL.
I am a huge fan of the Sparkling Gourami!! The babies are so frickin cute! I have 3 surviving babies which is so nice since Pappa fish died 😞
I did really good with my paradise fish so I’ll focus on different gourami species next year. They leave eggs under the plant leaves
I would love to see how long the sensitive plant is!
Rachel, I have a quick floating plant question, have you ever used Bacillus Thuricide to treat for pests eating floating plants, lily pads water lettuce etc? What do you recommend that is fish and snail safe for combating these pests?
i haven't, i usually just dunk them to get rid of surface pests
So exciting when you get baby fish.
My 3 sparkling gourami recently died though :( Actually got them b/c of your species spotlight video. Saw them for sale at a LFS and snatched them up :) Great little fish
What a nice surprise

What do you feed your Sparkling Gourami Fry? Mine had 10 within the first week of getting them in my community! Like your videos thanks a ton
Baby brine
Every time I watch these videos I'm ready to set up a nano tank😆😆😆
Where did you buy the bins?
Hey Dee, try Uline, they have tons of stuff.
Off topic completely, I love your jumper 😍
Rachel, ... Great Video as usual. :-)
However, ... I think it's time you get a couple more specimen containers for video and photographs. Those look like they have been used for testing sandpaper.
Can you do a full fish room tour one everything is in the fish room. Good video

Were the fish you were trying to think of "paradise fish"? Love to see how the tubs are doing. :)
yea, my brain just wasn't having it today hahah
Yes, please measure the sensitive plant!!
Why not try and hatch the mystery eggs in a small aquarium to see what they are
Measure the sensitive plant, very cool.
GOURAMU... Sounds like Godzilla enemy
What kind of endlers are those? Have the same! A lot of females and babies! Couple of males. Thank you for sharing your day with us!
they look like orchid endlers
Thank you!
She said at the end, wild class N not mixed with guppies. Most aquarium shop endlers are mixed with guppies
Nice thumbnail
Freaking awesome 👍👍👍👍👍
Yes please, measure the sensitivity plant!
Should hatch out the mystery eggs. If they turn out to be beetles, feed them to your pitcher plants
pitcher plants will be going dormant soon
don't be sure about the heater haha .... October heat waves are all the rage
What do you think is the key to getting sparkling gourami to breed? I've been trying in my home aquarium without success
I have wisteria as a floating plant and the male liked to make his bubble nest under a curved leaf. I must have magic well water because they were spawning only a week after adding a male to the tank. The croaking is louder than I expected too. 😁
Wow goals! I'm not entirely sure I even have a mix of males and females. Think I'm going to have to buy from Rachel to get a healthy group
Awesome me too!
Tub collection rules!!!
Yeah wanna see the plant size please!
For some reason the sound was very quiet in this episode. with fluctuations at the beginning.
Try paradise fish the are beautiful I use to raise them many many years ago.
Oh yea, measure that sensitive plant before you cut it up and sell it on your website! I want some!
Cheers,
Chris
Do you have guppies
Just wild guppies
So, I know this is a pretty old vid now, but about that bladderwort... Those eat aquatic worms. So, if you have an annelid issue, I wouldn't pull the plant that actively cuts back their population?
I would think most annelids are too big to be eaten by this species of bladderwort
Do you know the full scientific name for the sensitive plant?
Mimosa pudica, 20 seconds on google made me a botanist...
@@ScarletAssasin But Mimosa pudica isn't a aquatic plant...?
I did a species spotlight on it th-cam.com/video/94yHzYQ0vPA/w-d-xo.html
Yeah measure but let us add our guestimates for fun 😊
Da numnums be at @13:39.
Maybe turn your greenhouse into a small winter garden.

The thickness is real. Quite hot.

Ah,Rachel you are not going to heat the greenhouse in winter? No economical way? You should get the greenhouse business to sponsor or fund you for that. Sounds like a nice trade off.
Ha. Sponsorship. Dont think that really happens in this part of youtube. Or at least not in a way that would sit well with me
I know you have loads of experience, but I could not help but wince a little at the fact that you said labyrinth fish do not require filtration.
