Have you thought about piping it into your amall like frosting? You would probably save time and be ALOT less messy as well. Just a thought. Thank you for your video I really enjoyed it.

    • @ArianeArsenault

Jessika Urena I think hundreds of people have given me this advice. But, I cannot pipe the whipped body butters with the amount I made. I make too many and my batches don’t fit even in my largest piping bags. Plus when the bag is empty and needs refill, it makes the worst sticky buttery mess ever! Then cleaning the bag multiple times can clog the sink because these are solid butters.

Makes total sense. Thanks for taking the time to to explain, appreciate it.

Wonderful to see the process from beginning explanation of ingredients, master batch, to single whip batch, the color, scent and starch added, to preparation of jars, filling jars, filling, labeling, sealing the lids. I have made a similar body butter with shea and can't imagine not using it because it is so healing. What I realized in watching is how much love and attention is put into the products that no mass commercial production can provide for additional quality. Great job and you do a wonderful job with editing your video's and adding music. Very enjoyable to watch! Thank you.

90% of your hard oils/butters can be shea. Any of the oils and butters I used can be substituted with an other equivalent oil/butter. Also take in consideration the weather where you live! I live in a cold winter and cool summer zone. So I can incorporate more liquid oils than someone in South America, for example! Coconut oil will melt at room temp in summer!

I use shea, coconut, olive cocoa butter, and sweet almond oil in the recipe I use. I also add 1 measure of cornstarch to it when melted to combat the greasy feel. I chill to almost solid and then beat with a hand mixer and beat at the highest speed. I add the fragrance oils when putting it into the jars. I stir it in with a sterilized bamboo stick. Every one I have given it to loves it .

@@GboladeGold There's information on the internet about different butters and the properties they offer. Some are hard butter, medium, and soft butters. You can customize your butter blend how you like it. Also, oils have different properties also. Study the differences and experiment. I am about to do the same thing. Over several months I have acquired many different butters and oils. And I have been getting my equipment together. Now it's time for me to start experimenting in small batches. When creating try to measure your ingredients so if you make something that you really like then you can calculate how much of each ingredient you will need to make a larger batch. Hope this helps.

I agree with the piping bags, it's messy and refilling is frustrating. It does finish pretty. I dump it into 1 gallon ziploc bags and snip one of the lower corners to squeeze into the jars. It doesn't have the finish of the piping doodad, but it smooths out when I'm tamping it down and it's much less wiping for me. I have been using hot water in the sink with dawn and washing my equipment in the dishwasher. I noticed in a previous comment you advise against this. What do you do to save your plumbing from the butters and oil? Love your channel Ariane! Thank you for sharing = )

Ashley Walden I took me a few trial and error to achieve the texture I wanted to have. Keep trying, that is the way to go. :-)

Please, how do you clean your bowls and mixer efficiently? The oils are so difficult to clean. I was hoping you'd have tips.

So I've tried both piping and spooning and spooning it in works the best with less mess. I use a totally different formula though I like mine a bit stiffer and denser I use bees wax at 5-15% concentrations. Maybe I'll try jojoba, it a wax. I can offer a vegan version. Mine is very fluffy and creamy but I get 99.9 grams 3.5 ounces. Very similar jars they fill 4oz by volume .

do you store your base in the fridge until you're ready to use it? How long can it be stored?

    • @valenciajalil5652

I have the same exact question. I would love to make large batches of a base butter, and then add to it as needed, but not sure how to store and for how long.

    Hi
I understand that not having water I don't need a preservative. I just have a question regarding adding the tapioca, wouldn't that spoil? I always have doubt adding food grade powders on formulations and I'm not familiar with tapioca. I live in a very warm climate and spoilage is a big thing since it is hot and humid.
Thanks in advance for any reassurance!
    Teresa

if put the body butter in a piping bag as if you were going to ice a cake it may save you time cleaning off the jars since there is no spoon touching the edges

@@anjabest9591 I was thinking the same thing- but I wonder if you would lose product in the piping bag- excess butter may be left behind? Maybe

Would you ever want to pipe it into jar? Seems less messy and faster…you could even use a plastic bag and clip the tip…🤷🏻‍♀️ I saw another video where she heated butters half way through and the butters and oil mixed well when whipped and took half the time to get the final product… would you do that? I will use arrowroot but looking forward to making some body butter for friends❣️ 🙏🏽👍🏽🙋🏻‍♀️

I wonder have you considered using a large piping bag to fill the jars? Then you're just spooning once (into the bag). So long as your hands aren't very hot I wouldn't think it would melt down the body butter too much as you're piping it? Just a thought.

Hey Ariane I am a fan of your channel and I had a suggestion about how to fill your body butter jars. Instead of using a spoon you could use a piping bag and that way it would be efficient and cute when opened, just a suggestion. I love this channel

Master Of None even for selling? I know for personal use I would not even bother due to the fact there is no water involved but even as a safety precaution for you brand would you not use one ? lol maybe im being overly cautious but I figure better that than I be careless :D

hi! i know this is an older video of yours so this might not get answered and that's ok! I was just wondering, as someone who has watched the first video you made with the old technique, for what reason did you switch from only melting some of the butter/oils to melting all of them together? is about consistency?

    • @ArianeArsenault
      @ArianeArsenault  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It's more convenient and the texture is smoother ;-)
