Bout Time' First video out of 7 that showed how to release the Tension to get the belt off! Thank you very much. It's hard for to believe 7 maybe more videos didn't show this part. Most already had the belt off// Kudoes to you man //
You video is amazing I am a 54 year old female and I just changed the serpentine belt in my 1994 Laberon convertible I can't thank you enough your amazing. 😁
Thank you so much! You just saved me a bunch of dough. I can't believe the $$$ quotes people gave me for such a quick fix. Excellent video and your tips worked great. Keep this video uploaded so others can benefit!
You don't need to loosen anything. Just move the tensioner (by putting a wrench on the 15mm bolt) and hold it there until you have the belt seated on the all the components in the belt path. Then return the tensioner to the original position.
Hey great video! The serpentine belt has come loose on my dodge from driving over heavy snow.. if I was to mount it back on, would I need to remove the air con belt ? Or just pull back the 15mm bolt below the alternator and mount the belt back on? Thanks :)
When I attempted to put my serpentine belt back on (Not a new one, just put the original that had somehow come off) it was very slack. Is there a chance that the alternator bracket came loose, let the belt slip off, and now is creating slack in it when I put it back on? Thanks.
Thank you for the reply. Turns out it in fact wasn't the alt. bracket as I had wrongly suspected. The belt just wasn't around the drive pulley correctly. Once that was on right it took all the of slack out and went on as it should. Someone tried to convince me I had to jack the car up to change it. I need to show them this video.
I am so glad I own the same vehicle as you because your videos are great. It makes working on my van enjoyable when I know what I am doing!
Sweet! Love the third hand for the tensioner. See, after all these years, 61 of them, I'm still learning something new.
Great vid!! 😎
I'm learning too. Just fixed an AC leak for the first time. Thanks for the feedback!

Answered my question! Thanks
Tom Shevlin You're welcome.
Bro, do you need to loosen the 15mm bolt ? If I’m just putting in a belt, can I just loosen the adjuster bolt ?
You don't need to loosen anything. Just move the tensioner (by putting a wrench on the 15mm bolt) and hold it there until you have the belt seated on the all the components in the belt path. Then return the tensioner to the original position.
@@TheOriginalMechanic hey bro, I mean in the AC pulley
@@jazzs7480 Oh haha. Yeah sure you can.

You should be able to just pull back the tensioner and slip it back on. Of course make sure everything is dried off or it might slip off again!

Seems unlikely that the bracket came loose. Maybe the tensioner is sticking.

You're welcome and thanks for watching.
When this belt tends to fall off its a sign the tensioner is going bad.
