    I own a Chevy Colorado LT Crew cab 2016. I love it, I have the 2 wheel drive and it is my daily driver. I have driven it 3 hour road trips and no complaints. It is very comfortable, and does have enough room for my 6"1 son to sit in the back seat comfortably. I have the small bed and it big enough for what I carry. The only issue I have is with the computer interface. It does have issues with voice recognition for making the right selection on who to call and selecting songs. Besides that it is a great midsize truck.

    I have a 2017 Chevy Colorado WT, V-6, double-cab, short bed with about 22,600 miles. So far no issues. I do baby it, and I hope it lasts a good while. I am planning a road trip to Vegas very soon.

    I had the 2016 Colorado Z71, trading in my full-size F150 V8. It drove great and had good power but after about a year and a half I began having sensor issues. My ABS and Air Bags kept coding to the point where On-Star would call me and ask if I had been in an accident. GM service could not figure out the problem and it kept getting worse as little by little other sensors started coding. So I decided to trade it in and go back to a full-size V8, getting a Sierra 6.2 litre and never looked back.

      Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The GMC Canyon and the Chevy Colorado are great choices for someone who wants a truck, but not something as big as the full size trucks. While I would much rather prefer the GMC Sierra all the way, the Canyon and Colorado are definitely the best choices to pick from for having a daily driver. Therefore, I have a soft spot for these.

    Gotta have 4 wheel drive for iowa winters, and this being a midsized truck really helps as well, I've noticed full size trucks often have a lot more issues and see plenty in ditches as people forget you cant drive it like it's summer time even with trucks, but the midsize gives you much better weight balance.

      Horsepower and torque on take off and top end. And do an acceleration to show this and hear engine as the 306 Hp V6 is a big selling point over the Tacoma's 270 or so V6.

    Great review, thank you. What are your thoughts on short vs long bed? And also, getting a truck cap for the bed vs not having a cap.

    • @benlyisflying
      @benlyisflying  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem. As far as a short and a long bed, I would say go with the long bed if you're constantly hauling material in the bed unless if you use your truck like me where I daily drive it and don't haul alot, the short bed is fine to stick with even if it holds less items/weight than the long bed. And for the cap on the bed, I would say if you want your bed to be covered and do not want to go through the trouble of taking off the Toneau Cover to hold taller items on special occasions, get the cap. Or if you want the bed covered and do not want it to be eposed, get the toneau cover because the cap can still allow people to see inside the bed if you get one with windows on it. I like the idea of pap caps a long time ago, but when I found out they make trucks alot more heavier I kind of backed away from them and started favoriting over toneau covers. In my opinion, I think the toneau cover looks better in general. Hope this helps!

      If you want the crew cab, the long bed requires a longer wheelbase. Most crew cabs have the short bed. Extended cabs have a long bec, but the back seats are only good for small children.

    I'm 3 months in with my '16 Rado LT Ext Cab with the 3.6L. Prior to this, I drove an '04 Rado for 9 years until the rust and the cost of repairs forced my hand. For the most part, I'm very happy with this upgrade. The features and ride of this vehicle are a huge improvement from the original model. Gas mileage is better even though the 3.6L has considerably more HP than my old 3.5L. In a few years, I'm looking forward to buying a modest sized travel trailer which I will be able to tow easily with the 7,000# towing capacity. My only complaint so far is the 6 speed transmission. It is not very responsive at low RPM. Downshifting from 6th gear at low RPM (~1,000) is, at times, far from smooth. Often, I drive in M5 around town to keep the RPMs closer to 1,500 for better responsiveness. With that being said, I'm looking forward to adding accessories now that weather is warming up. A Linux spray in bed liner and running boards are in this Rado's future thanks to my Stimulus check!

    • @Z71X4
      @Z71X4 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was debating between both of those but I decided to go with the Colorado. There is more room, it feels more spacious than the Tacoma, is better looking in my opinion, BUTT, literally, the Tacomas butt is a lot nicer again, in my opinion. Tacoma isn't a bad truck my friend has had 3 of them as his dad has had 2 of them and I've ridden in the front and back and even driven it before and it was acceptable, however, when I test drove the Color I felt like I had more space around me, not to cramped. Keep in mind, I only test drove two of them (ZR2 & Z71) I am 5ft 9in. I also do know that the Tacoma doesn't have much head room for those tall people are those that adjust their seat higher than others. The software on the Chevy feels outdated when I was swiping around. I am getting my truck tomorrow and am quite excited. I did all my research on the Colorado before thinking about buying one and I ended up WANTING to get one. Now here I am a couple hours into getting the keys handed to me. You can't go wrong with either or, get which one you like better, but do your research first. Which specific models were you looking at?

    Don't forget to ask him about the shuttering problem with their transmission which the most of their models have on it basically causes you a big problem and that's what I have was mine don't forget to ask about that and basically make sure before you're buying it take it for a neat long test drive and ask him what are they going to do if the shutter problem has on your vehicle that you might be interested in buying but if they don't know what to sell you or don't know what to say will you guarantee that you're not going to have the problem and then watch them trip over their words because they don't know what to tell you because the majority of the cars for the trucks have this problem and it's not an easy one to get rid of matter of fact they don't know how to get rid of it I have a 2017 purchase in December of 2020 and basically the first day I had it the transmission went they had to rebuild it and we're still in discussions what they're going to do about it which they give you a lot of yes people when you call them up I agree with you everything you say but they do nothing about it show me Raptor showroom asked him point-blank if you do get that problem what is the dealer going to do about it make sure you get it in writing
