2016 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon - Review and Road Test

- Following a two-year hiatus, GM's midsize pickups are back and ready to give the segment-dominating Toyota Tacoma a run for its money. Do the latest Colorado and Canyon have what it takes to dethrone the undisputed champ? KBB's Zach Vlasuk has the answer.

I'm so glad GM re-entered this segment. I was getting sick and tired of the old Tacoma. Prices are way overpriced for those things used because they had no competition. These look way better.
Whatever producer came in and refreshed KBB's youtube product line is a genius. Best youtube reviews out there.
I am tired of hearing everybody complain about not having a push button start. It is a truck, not a SUV or a minivan for soccer moms. A truck should be designed different from a SUV and doesn't need all the same useless technology. For years all vehicles have had lane departure systems, it is called a steering wheel. Collision avoidance technology, was previously known as a brake pedal. When you review a truck it is not about the luxuries, it is about towing and carrying cargo. If you buy a truck you want a interior that will not be ruined when you sit in it with dirty work clothes.
I'm glad the GM twins came back to the segment. Forced Toyota to refresh the Tacoma, which was way overdue.
+Mr. Tbag Toyota has been raping their customers by overcharging for old, outdated technology for over 10 years. I am just stunned that so many fanboys aren't pissed at Toyota for literally offering them NOTHING for a decade, but when the twins come out they throw new toys and say "Look what we just realized we could put in the Taco!" If I had been duped into spending so much for a Taco, I'd be a bit upset that they totally ignored all of their customers until they were forced to give something back due to competition.
Yeah well what can you do. I agree, yet at least the truck was solid. Sure it was definitely outdated, but it was solid nonetheless. I'm just glad GM came back and forced them to give us something much more fresh.
Yes, and everyone wins now. Finally. hahah
Solid lol the Old Colorado was a Lemon
and this new one is off to a poor start, it already has 6 recalls under its belt.
6 recalls? Not true. Maybe 3. But which new vehicle has less than that? Toyota has more. Ford has more. Your argument is invalid. And the old Colorado wasn't a lemon. There are still hundreds of thousands of them on the road. Do you have any clue about anything you post or are you just trolling? Toyotas have stuck accelerators but I don't think they're all lemons.
I hated it at first, but it grew on me. I don't usually like the new looks of pickups, I usually like the straight boxy pickups like ford and chevy but something about it makes me like it.
? This is a Chevy
I just picked up a '16 ext cab LT several months ago. I'm pretty happy with it. My only complaint so far is the 6 speed auto transmission. It dumps the truck into 6th gear during normal city driving taking the RPMs down to around 1000. A gradual acceleration can cause a less than smooth downshift to 5th gear. Sometimes I just drive it in M5 to avoid it.
I like the canyon and colorado design
That was actually an honest review. Its the least bias review of the Tacoma name being brought up yet, likely due to the fact that Tacoma continues to outsell GM in this segment, which is starting to raise eyebrows and forcing reviews to come up with reasons for that; such as reliability, re-sale, and I will add leading off road capability and the popularity badge that brings, plus company profile and 2 suspension packages that dominate the Z71 and TRD options such as superchargers that allow you to keep your full factory warranty under 334LB-FT of torque.
Were not there yet but the reviewers will get there, give it time.
I'm the owner of a previous generatiom (06) Canyon. I love it and I'm sure I'll love these new models.
For all you GM haters, the Colorado has won Motor Trend's TOTY for the second year in a row, this time with a Duramax inline 4cyl diesel. The diesel Canyon was 2nd and the Tacoma 3rd. If you want the particulars buy the issue(Jan 2016).
+Everett Cox i love the GM twins so much i ordered a reliable Tacoma
+guy proulx Well pin a rose on your nose pal.
+guy proulx --In other words you spent money on a foreign truck and deprived Americans of a pay check. Smart.
Glen W. Ford actually it was assembled by Americans in the U.S of A, do you think those American workers are spending their paychecks in Japan, you're not the brightest bulb in the pack are you lol
+guy proulx ---The key word is "assembled." If you think Japan doesn get a dime you`re sadly mistaken. You`re not the sharpest card in the deck are you????
the thing I hate about toyota's is that their interiors are cheap and contain a lot of rough cheap plastic even the higher up models but I will not deny that toyota's do last forever I just think as a brand they need to put a little bit more quality into their interiors because even the new upcoming next gen tacoma has a cheap looking interior I'm just saying if I'm spending money on a truck I want a nice exterior and interior and I've gotten a chance to drive the new colorado and my personal opinion is its a great mid sized truck its got a vary comfortable and user friendly interior and it has vary little road noise and it has no blind spots I think every mid sized truck on the market has its ups and downs but every one offers something a little different then the next so it honestly depends on the person
Saw a Colorado the other day. Was surprised at the size -it's bigger than you might expect it to be. The mid-size truck segment is def. going to be exciting for the next couple years. Everyone can fanboy/hate as they want, but we'll have to wait till they've been out on the roads for a few years to really see where each model stands. My bet is they're all pretty good trucks.
I have a '17 Canyon SLT diesel. It is an amazing vehicle, pulls like a little moose, gets 30 mpg on the highway, rides nice, very comfy. GM hit this one out of the park.
I'd be surprised if this even made a dent in the Tacoma sales. But I'm sure some people will like the option.
Its selling like hotcakes wouldn't be surprised if it became class leader in few years
@@Xenios9nope 😂
I don't know which Colorado you were using when you had issues hauling 4500lbs. Seriously, the V6 can handle 7000 pounds all day long with ease. I have never driven a 4-cylinder, but I can't think it would have a problem with 4500lbs. Considering how the V6 can handle 7000lbs and actually still be quick to accelerate and it still wants to keeping going, how could the 4-banger have a problem? Is there that much of a difference between the two?
That`s funny,,, you found towing inadequate in over 4500 pounds ? TFL Trucks tested the Colorado Z71 4 by 4- 3.6 liter and posted the video on TH-cam,,,towing 5000 pounds up the Ike Gauntlet in Denver Colorado. It beat all the other mid-sized trucks, and had no problems pulling the load what so ever. They did a start to finish time, a sound decibel measurement, and a MPG rating. The truck did awesome.
I know it's dated, but everyone seems to always ignore the Nissan Frontier. I know it might not be the top of its class, but there's not really a lot of choices in the class of midsize truck and the Frontier is a very reliable and well built truck
it's definitely better than any domestic
***** can you explain to me why we never see any domestics in wildlife documentaries filmed in the middle of nowhere in Africa or Australia but always see Toyota Hilux, Landcruisers and once in a while a Nissan or Mitsubishi
+Stompbox99 I drive one, sold my 06 Tacoma to buy a 2012 Nissan frontier pro-4x. Why? More power better ride and better seating position. The taco was nice but the Frontier pulls my trailer way better, doesn't hunt for gears as much and is every bit as capable if not a bit lower than the taco. Glad someone brought it up. NEw Frontier is coming.
+guy proulx Answer. Protectionism like here in America that kept out diesels, the same goes for Domestic abroad. Diesels rank number one over there, as well as reliability. Gm tried but ppl didn't buy. Only North america has grown fat off Fullsize trucks, Consumerism ads hard at work shaping minds and forming your opinions.
+guy proulx Dude, you must be a complete tool if you actually believe the Frontier can compete with either of the twins. Even Nissan has admitted that it has neglected that vehicle fior years, which is why it's $5000 cheaper. And just so you can understand what I'm trying to say here, I'll help you with the answer: If the Frontier is $5000 cheaper than a Colorado/Canyon, why are people buying Colorado/Canyon instead of the Frontier? Why is no one buying the Frontier? I'll give you some time to think of a good answer. Take your time.
If you want some help, just watch some Frontier reviews right here on TH-cam. It's not cheating, we'll let you watch as many of them as you need to....
nope do not add keyless start it's stupid I prefer key
+LoneWolf214 It's personal preference but I do wish they offered keyless start. I guess when you blow away the competition in so many categories there's less reason to add little extras to make the vehicle perfect. Besides, now they have another feature to add in 2017 to make people want to buy another Colorado. lol
Keyless start is great and easy.
Just bought one today love it .
cant go wrong with with a toyota but gm has again become the leading car manufacturer in the world since the bail out in a time when everyone is making good quality cars. i love my gmc canyon. i did my research and gm trucks have the most rigid chasis. imo the canyon is by far the most beautiful mid size truck period right now.
+Danny Moreno GM is not the leading car manufacturer, Toyota has been number 1 since 2008, GM and Volkswagon keep sharing 2nd place
beauty is in the eye of the beholder, imo the Tacoma looks more like a truck, rugged and tough looking, Tacoma comes with the best reputation for reliabilty along with the best resale in the business
a rigid chassis is not the best for towing, there's a reason HD trucks use a c-channel frame like big rigs do
Newsflash Danny! Tacoma has been the leading car manufacturer in the world since 2008. And btw, sales of the new Colorado and Canyon have tanked..........they're way down while sales of the new Tacoma are up 46%.
+Binder Dundat 46% you say. im gonna need a source
Danny Moreno Hi Danny. I'm just heading out in the boat fishing, but here is one of the articles.........there are lots more. I'll try and find you the one I referenced, I believe it might have been from good car bad car. Anywhere here is one to give you a flavour of what is going on..
www.torquenews.com/1083/2016-toyota-tacoma-sales-colorado-down-diesel-doesn-t-help
If Toyota is number 1, then why did the Colorado/Canyon with 2015 and 2016 Truck of The Year? What makes you think the Tacoma is any better? I assure you that it is not. Ride quality, performance, amenities, luxury options, frame strength, component quality. GM outperforms Toyota in ALL of these categories. Trust me, I own a Colorado and a good friend of mine owns a 2017 Tacoma. I have driven both and I am happy to say I made the right decision.
The Ecoboost engine has certain problems. It's great on the flats. Driving it west out of Denver on I 70 leaves you with certain problems. The turbo boost will over heat, shutting off the turbo. You are left with a very underpowered truck. If you live in Kansas, the Ecoboost is great. If you live near or in the mountains, be careful.
Where Chevy dropped the ball with the Colorado could be stated at 4:04
Can confirm. Traded my 2018 F-150 with the 2.7l /10 speed for a 2019 Colorado with the 3.6/8 speed and the F-150 gets better mpg.
But I can park the Colorado.
I’ve got a 2016 Laser Blue example with the 2.5L I4. I regularly get better MPG than most of my friends with small, compact cars. I’ve gotten my truck up to 35mpg highway without a bed cover, and I wouldn’t get another truck. The Colorado always has my vote
Ford isn't getting anywhere near that good of fuel mileage on those ecoboost engines. I don't think Ford knows how to build a truck engine that gets decent mileage.
graycloud057 mine got great mpg. Better than my Colorado, in fact. But the Chevy has got a lot more going for it which makes losing 3-5 mpg worth it. To me.
GMCs look nice because of the grill.
I want one of these trucks soooo bad. I'm only 14 tho so I still have 2 years
Then 2 more from 16-18 to work a job and buy one, if that.
when i saw both online i noticed the interior of the canyon looked better quality
excellent reviewer! very very thorough. very much appreciated! i think i'm going with the canyon.
My 2010 5.3 v8 Colorado is twice the truck the crappy overpriced Tacoma ever was with the wheezey v6. It also has a locking rear diff standard with that trim and much better suspension with the z71 package. That's probably the reason why the 5.3 holds its value way better than the Tacoma or any truck in the segment.
The tacoma is the 2nd highest resale vehicle...out of all vehicles. The FJ Cruise is number 1. You truck in no way holds its value better than a tacoma.
Go look on auto trader and tell me that
www.kbb.com/new-cars/best-resale-value-awards/best-resale-top-10-cars/
Excuse me I was wrong, the Tacoma is the number one resale value vehicle of 2015.
I always hear that from you Colorado guys, throwing that V8. Thinking that a V8 in a midsize is automatically better, Lol. That v8 has horrible fuel Economy. If I wanted a V8 in a truck, I would of bought a Fullsize. You buy a midsize for the fuel economy, when you don't want a big truck but still have a bed to haul stuff around. Plus, if you don't want the V8 and want good MPGs the I5 and 4cylinder are trash motors that are under powered. I'd take a Ranger over that POS any day. You're just hyping your truck to make you feel better about wasting your money on a bad truck. The ride is god awful, the interior is cheap. There's a reason why the Tacoma is #1, it's a good truck. I have 100k miles on my 2009 with ZERO issues since I bought it new in 2009. Never had to bring it to the shop to get it repaired, only maintenance work. The Tacoma holds better resale value, mmmm gee I wonder why...?
Parker Faulk buddy..yes it's number one..but not a lot of difference..only 2.1% while colorado gives you more hp torque mpg..some people think toyota is the best of the best..but the best of the best of America is jeep..way better than toyota..
"reliability and build quality" my past 3 GM trucks had those problems 15+ years ago sounds like little has changed ;(
the diesel blows the doors off the ecoboost 2.7 lol
Its the Colorado and Tacoma were women.. The Tacoma is gonna remember your birthday, know what you want for dinner, have your beverage of choice ready for you whenever but won't go down on you because she's not comfortable.
The Colorado will let you have your way with it in the back of the office building and will garner stares or envy and hate wherever she goes.. She will do the the nasty with you the Tacoma won't, maybe forget your birthday but won't cheat on you, but you'll have to wait in the mall as she shops, and you'll have deal with outings with her G/F's in public settings but you can get her off your mind..
+armst012 The problem is that the woman who is like the Tacoma has severe osteoporosis and her soft frame with rust and begin deteriorating within the first year you use her. But yeah, she might remember your birthday!
Hi I bought a v6 2015 Colorado but wanted to know if the diesel engine gonna fit my truck am thinking of doing a swap in the future when it comes out . An would it be possible can anyone help.
Nice review
The new Tacoma has the same side profile as it did previously. Nothing like a cheap refresh after 10+ years. The Colorado/Canyon will be far better in terms of ride handling just far less reliable unfortunately.
far less reliable and don't forget to take that stupid airdam off before going over the speedbumps at Home Depot, if you're interested in buying a GM twin i suggest waiting a couple years, they will be a dime a dozen
guy proulx What good is Tacoma's reliability when its frame is rotten after a couple winters. Even the Tacoma frames that Toyota wasn't forced to recall are known for serious rust. Or how about leaf springs that fail due to stress or corrosion. It wasn't until October 2014 did Toyota finally recall 2005-11 models for the leaf springs .www.tacomahq.com/508/toyota-tacoma-leaf-springs-break/ You might think it's not fair that I'm generalizing, but you're guilty of the same when you claim "far less reliable" for a totally new truck. Having driven several recent GM trucks and cars, your claim has no factual basis.
hochhaul wasn't the RECALLARADO recalled before it hit the showroom floors LMAO, truck of the year my ass
Interesting enough however the recent Toyota pickup trucks are not endorsed buy consumer reports for their reliability issues.
Who cares about price and reliability. It's all manmade and therefore subject for a breakdown. Bottomline is customer's preference and suitability. I own 2015 Z71 Colorado, and I am totally amazed with the ride quality and comfort, fuel economy is excellent( 500 km for an 80 liters tank city driving is easy) and it drives solid. Both exterior and interior design are not as boring as those other trucks. The matter of reliability depends on what kind of driver you are. If you drive like hell, then expect your stock whatever truck you are driving to breakdown easily.
i want one of these bad
You're in the minority for sure. Sales of these GM twins have slumped awfully while the new Tacoma sales are up like 46%.
+Binder Dundat i like yotamay get one instead when i get a new rig but really want to go american
Tacoma is designed and built in America....
+Binder Dundat doesent the money go back to japan
The money goes to the share holders NavyGunFreak and to the employees and back into the plants for updates, etc. Do you think the share holders just Asian? Who do you think pays the salaries of the thousands of North American workers? Some Toyotas like the Camry have more American content than comparable Chev or Ford products. The real benefit is the boost to the economy for all of these North American Toyota plants and to the hundreds of supplier companies.
I need something to haul 700 lbs worth of motorcycles AND be my daily driver. I'm torn between the Colorado/Canyon with 6-speed manual, and a Ford Transit Connect LWB van...
I'm starting to see a ton of these on the road. But it's hard to justify the cost when comparing to a full size. 15% less truck should you would think, have 15% less cost..... Chevrolet/GMC missed the mark on pricing IMO.
+C Steele I'm not sure why you think this is 15% less truck (whatever that means), but a Colorado is about $7,000 cheaper than a Silverado with the exact same features.
Does anybody know where they took it off road?
I drive all kinds of rentals , Honda, BMW, ford , Chevy, dodge, Kia etc., I prefer the keyed entry.
The air damn on the front was staring into my soul...
That shitty spoiler in the front. Garbage truck for having it standard
Looks really nice.
Can someone explain to me why the crew box is more expensive than the long box? :o
+Eric Rodriguez Because it is attached only to the crew cab, which is the expensive option. The long bed is attached to the extended cab (which has small suicide doors in the rear), which is the cheaper model. I bought an extended cab for many reasons. Cheaper, lighter, shorter, sportier looks, and longer bed. I would never own anything with 4 doors!
I guess they got the pricing all wrong. For 38k you are in range for very nicely specced half ton trucks (which have tons of cash on the hood usually).
What happens when the tow button is engaged?
Clifford Java The shift points change to optimize torque and fuel economy.
+mattjack4x4 and if you flick the turn signals they flash 6 times instead of 3 haha
Trying to find a Colorado in that silver color is like almost rare.
I'm in a 2014 Ford F1 50 right now and I'm looking to downsize to a midsize truck . I've looked around and there's no way I would buy a GM product over a Toyota . You can get a better deal on the Tacoma right now anyway I wouldn't even bother looking at the GM again
+dill doe Then fuck off?
***** Oh, you are one angry child.
+dill doe No one is telling you to buy anything. But if you'd prefer a Tacoma, be aware that you're getting a truck with outdated technology, a louder interior, worse fuel economy, fewer features, less horsepower, worse ergonomics, and a lot of other things that make the Tacoma inferior. And the price of the Taco is right in line with the Colorado. I'm not sure why you think you can get a better price on a Tacoma. Have you actually priced them? Anyway, if you'd prefer to buy an inferior Taco for the same amount of money, that's great news for Colorado fans. GM can't even keep the twins on the lots and they are selling very fast, so you not buying one will help put a Colorado/Canyon in the hands of people who want to buy one.
***** Good job liking your own comment you tool.
James Wisrik You're a fucking tool James. There have been about 30 reviews saying that the Colorado/Canyon are better than the Tacoma. But you find one review where they say the Taco is a little better in a couple areas but the Colorado still has much more to offer. So, MY bitch, enjoy your decade-old technology, uncomfortable ride, inferior seat and interior materials, and loud ride. Whole everyone else is saying the GM twins are better, keep swinging on the dick of that one review while you ignore EVERYONE ELSE'S REVIEWS. hahahah
what's the big deal with the damped tail gate?! If you can't put it down slowly under your own force then you've got issues
I made the right decision buying a Tacoma.
The new Tacoma is coming. I much rather choose a Taco with proven reliability (worldwide) over this as a midsizer.
nice but I'm sticking with the Colorado
still an amazing choice.
+supremewhip Oh yeah, the tens of thousands of documented catastrophic frame rust Tacoma's is proven worldwide too. Don't confuse the Tacoma for the Hilux. This isn't 1985 and Toyota doesn't build a bulletproof truck anymore. Do some research and you'll learn that there's been nothing special about the Taco since 1990.
+Auxillian Warghost i wonder why all underground mines here in Canada only buys Toyota trucks and why we only see Toyota Landcruisers in wildlife documentaries filmed in the middle of nowhere around the world
Sure, Tacoma is king. Except when it comes to reviews, fuel economy, payload, horsepower, options, ride comfort, and awards. In all of those categories, the GM twins are superior. And that resale value Tacoma owners have always bragged about is a skewed fallacy. The reason Tacomas have retained higher resale is because there were no other options. If you wanted a midsize truck, you could either buy a Nissan Frontier (NOPE), overpay for a new Tacoma since their was no real competition (NOPE), or buy a used Tacoma for less than MSRP of a new one. Which would YOU pick? That is why the resale strayed high, but guess what....that's changing now because there are finally better trucks available. Do you understand these points? lol
38 k is chevy nuts that is crazy might as well get an f150 if ur spending 38 k
Nice truck. I didn`t get the MPG.
Where was the Canyon?
This comment is for the the end of the video - are GM's cars / trucks really that unreliable or have they gotten better?
I just bought a 2016 Canyon ... been a Ford guy all my life but Ford refuses to bring their mid-size in and I just don't like driving and parking the full-size truck any more. . Traded in a 2011 Canyon with 70,000 mile. Never one single trip to the shop for anything. Perfect. Oil changes and a set of tires at 50,000. That is it. Great truck. The new one is so nice it is almost embarrassing, so well laid out and equipped. Other than they forgot to design in a tray for the console (huh?) it is virtually perfect. Love it.
+cpthemonstergamer They are no more less reliable or reliable than other brands. it's amazing how false information floats around. Go to the lemonade book and other sources. The domestics have come a long way next to their "imported" and I use that term loosely now brethren.
***** I don't think i said most reliable anywhere. I'd never say that. lol
+cpthemonstergamer GM has always been great
Douglas Gardner Don't forget their monumental rust problems. Frames...... in particular. toyota, not perfect either....
Unless they fixed the ABS computer error that happens around 50,000-75,000 miles this vehicle is not worth the price.
can kbb do more jeeps please?
***** That was fast! Thanks, I will.
what really pisses me off is how the canyon barely makes an appearance
Get over it.
I love the new GM twins you've done well. Better than that piece of crap known as the Tacoma.
What is wrong with normal keys
I thought that was a fair and well done vid. Thanks
5:50 says it all. Bad resale value, questionable reliability and build quality will keep a lot of people away.
+misamisatv but yet it still won "truck of the year" lol
guy proulx You know what "Truck of The Year Awards" actually are, right? To be eligible for the award, a car must be an "all-new" or "substantially upgraded" vehicle that has been on sale within twelve months from the previous November, vehicles that have been on sale for over five years are ineligible for the award. It's not a comparison test. In other words, it really doesn't mean anything.
misamisatv yeah i know, i was just being sarcastic, i guess they had no choice to choose it because no others met these rules, it was on it's own to win the award
Go chevy!!!!
HEY THAT'S A TOYOTA TACOMA !!!
Nice truck
push button start sucks.. they should make it an option, I hate the dam push start on cars
American trucks. Nuff said
Softly sprung trucks are no good period
especially off road
Tacoma and Frontier are both better off road
At the Texas truck Rodeo it was clear the Tacoma was the best mid sized truck
especially off road.
+David Stanley You almost made me spit my soda out when I read that bullshit. What makes you think that the GM twins have softer suspension settings? The only negative complain about the Gm trucks is that stupid air dam lip on the front fascia, and that can be removed easily to gain a comparable approach angle on the front.
GM/Chevy are the strongest frames true boxed chassis
True
Frontier uses the full boxed frame from the titan
it makes the
Colorado frame look like tooth picks
David, are you smoking Crack? The Frontier doesn't share the chassis and frame from the Titan. Hahahah
always hear about Toyota and Honda reliability but in my family Toyotas and Hondas and fords have been much worse than the chevys we have owned
huh that doesn't make sense
Air dam. How can you 4x4 or go through a snow drift with 6 inches of clearance? This is a good city truck maybe.
You can remove it if you prefer. Some owners have shortened it.
Big bulky jus like the frontier. I'll get a Tacoma
it's a truck you geniuses of course fuel is down compared to cars
Had a 2.7, don’t let ford fool you... put real truck tires on the f150... instead of car tires and mpg is gone.. and the engine was horrible, got rid off it! Beware!
The hydraulic tailgate seen as a innovation , lie expectations and poor design that Detroit is offering.
What is new innovative or interesting on these trucks. Simply more of the same offered by Detroit for a lot of of money.
You build a truck to carry things but you have very few accessories to do that. You have an entire bed frame box and you have no storage containers , no under-bed storage, no tie-downs for a truck which is presumably made to move things in the back.
My God a bed light which is accessible from the outside is a new feature or an innovation.
I'm just not impressed .
zr2 has interior just like gmc
This is pointless until the Diesel shows up in 2016.
My 2016 Toyota Tacoma sucked and my 2016 Colorado with the Diesel engine is very far superior
under $22,000 for a crew cab? I don't know what info you've been getting.. 2wd crew cab is pushing 30.
+BoscoVapes he said extended cab
david Buchanon david buchanon both standard features ;)
Dude not cool copy of ford ranger 2015 but released in oct. Of 2014
The old Tacoma was a better option before the refresh! These GM twin were so overhyped, look at the stance of the Colorado, the front is about 5 inches off the ground and the rear is like 2 foot lol The only thing they have to claim over the old Taco was driving nanny tech and a damped tailgate!? Seriously! These will be a dime a dozen in 5 years when they are discontinued
Wrong
I see this truck being a huge fail, and the Tacoma will still outsell both, combined.
***** You're having such a bad day, I got two replies from you. I must have made you pretty mad.
The front valence is just as high off the ground as any other truck on the market - including the 2016 Tacoma.
***** the new generation twins also have a bad rating for safety
👍👍👍
Welp, fast forward to 2019 and wat a piece of shit this turned out to be. Wish i never bought the colorado. Fucking truck started breaking down at 3 years/50,953 miles.
Just wait until the redesigned 2016 Tacoma comes out. It will be so much better than these trucks.
True, however when I want to see the Colorado I was surprised by the great value and build quality. For 31k, you get a very well equipped Z71 4 door with the 3.6 v6. One thing for sure, the new Tacoma will be expensive. After owning my Toyotas in the past, my experience with the new ones have been disappointing. If the quality of the new Tacoma goes up, toyota should have a winner. If not, GM will make some ground
Carlos Guevara build quality?, what about the recall on the seats that could come loose or the recall on leaking front calipers lol
please do not buy this pice of Shit truck, I have one it is the worst truck ever made.
+Alexander Perez mine is a 2004 what year is yours
+christianblackmtlrlz 2016 chevy colorado.
+Alexander Perez You do realize your old truck is NOTHING like the new Colorado, right? I mean, you could also say the new Malibu sucks because the Malibu's from the 90's were shitty.
+Auxillian Warghost no, the Colorado I have is a 2016... 2016. only 2000 miles.
Mine is the best vehicle I've ever owned. I have no idea how anyone could think it's a piece of shit. That really makes no sense considering how nice this truck is. And you're begging people not to buy them? I wonder why. can you clarify why you're begging people please not to buy them?
Man what an ugly and awkward looking car
Do not buy this junk, Toyota Tacoma baby all the way.
+Yve_e You're kidding, right?
+Yve_e you got that right
What an unattractive vehicle... especially the interior. Good luck, Chevrolet.
I'll take the reliability of the Toyota over this crap. The reviewer nailed it when he mentioned questionable build quality.
Ok stick with your outdated truck while everyone else gets better driving, better looking, faster, better interior trucks :)
reliability ftw
You miss heard what he said, he said that it was due to a questionable history of reliability and build quality, that being the older previous generation. Before anyone can honestly say this is better than the toyota tacoma, go drive it and see!
way to remove my comment.
as i said before if you want old cheap interior, lack of power, lack of new tech, better looking / styled truck and want to stick with the old outdated tundra go ahead while everyone else will enjoy a better truck :)
I really think the "reliability" of Toyota is really overrated. I'm a Toyota fan myself but I have also drove some of their newer vehicles. The new Corolla is pure junk...
