I just had my third surgery in six months recently and I'm in pain and stuck on the couch or in bed and Jordans Vlogs always cheer me up. Makes me so happy to see someone experiencing so much of life, even if I'm just watching it from my sofa. Thanks for all you do Jordan. This was great.

Thank you both for showing us queen Mary. What a wonderful memory you have both created. ❤️🙏🏻 We took the queen Mary tour once and during the tour we heard the knocking on the pipes in an area that the tour guide said it was haunted and she says that you don’t hear that all the time; she looked a little scared. And yes it was a little chillier than usual. Hopefully they will never get rid of the Queen Mary like other landmarks. We used to go to a ship called the SS princess Louise and they decided to sell its wood to Mexico. It used to be our favorite place to celebrate our wedding anniversaries and take special friends to eat there. ❤️🙏🏻 So hopefully the Queen Mary won’t have the same fate.
I stayed on the Queen Mary my first trip to California for all reasons haunted. As soon as I walked in I could just feel the energy changing. I enjoyed every second of my stay. I did the audio tour and loved it and there was also a display of Princess Diana’s gowns that was amazing. Thank you for making my day...again!
So much history attached to this ship. I have a friend who came back from WWII in Europe on this ship. Hope that they are able to keep it preserved for the public. I've heard that there have been some financial problems that they've encountered.
They could probably increase their income by half by just emphasizing to the staff how important the experience of the ship is to the guests. Amy and I commented numerous times how unfriendly most of the staff was, nobody smiled, the service was pretty slow and bad everywhere we went.. From the front desk to the restaurants.. Like she said "this should be fun, and an honor to work on this ship. They should see how cool it is to work on something with that history, and try to make the guests aboard feel the old ship experience.." Especially for the prices they charge.. We literally saw the manager of the Observatory bar standing by the bar in front of everyone repeatedly yawning over and over while stretching his arms out like he just woke up.. Just really unprofessional atmosphere overall.

My mum came over from England on the Queen Mary after the 2nd World War as a war bride. Happy Birthday dear sweet Amy and hello to the nicest tour guide in the world Mister J!
Colin Stewart My husband‘s mother was a war bride, too. When he was six months old they came to the United States on the Queen Mary. My son has now had the opportunity to tour the Queen Mary and see how his dad and grandma came to the United States. Of course, they landed in New York.

In 2003 my husband and I went on the Queen Mary for the Marine Corp ball and we stayed that night and I loved it!!!! The next morning we had a breakfast buffet in the ball room and it was to die for.....the nite of the ball we walked around the whole ship looking for ghosts and we had an awesome time but it's not easy climbing those stair cases in high heels and a ball gown!!!!That Marine Corp ball was the greatest of my life....it was my first time in California.....I will never forget that trip!!!!! Thanks for the memory - my husband and I stayed on the Queen Mary and it does take you back in time. Our room was very 30s-40s - absolutely perfect. Totally recommend it. Loved seeing it again, so special.
In the 1990’s Disney was running the ship and had a haunted tour, where actors would appear as the ghosts in the stories. It creeped me out so much, I highly doubt that I’ll ever set foot on that boat again. The ship is the most haunted place I’ve ever been. You can feel it. Also my mom’s friend had a ghost experience in their hotel room there. That ship is beautiful though.

This was a great treat Jordan! Thank you so much for sharing this. Way back in early 1972 I couldn't decide if I wanted to go on with my chosen profession or start over again on something else (before I got too old!). Anyway, I got some extended leave approved at work and took about 6 weeks off and flew out to visit different relatives in Southern Cal. I stayed with one Aunt and Uncle in Long Beach for a week and on my last day we went to visit the Queen Mary. She hadn't been open to the public for long and it wasn't a hotel yet, so the tour was literally the ship as she was in her natural state. That night I moved over to visit with another Aunt and Uncle in Thousand Oaks and we decided to go see the new hit movie "The Poseidon Adventure". You can't imagine the effect that movie had on me after spending the day on the QM. All I can say is that we ended up spending most of the evening in a convenient neighborhood bar right next to the theatre! I haven't been there since and wondered what she looked like now. I'd like to go back and stay there sometime! I do remember the tour guide talking about stories of the ghost of a crewman (they thought) in the engine room. Other stories said there were ghosts of some of the soldiers who came back from the war when she was used as a troop ship. Good stuff!

Hi Jordan, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY! What a great birthday treat. I loved all the Art Deco items, especially the panelling. I liked the little ghost stories in the frames aswell. You can just imagine all the old Hollywood stars like Gloria Swanson, dining in the fancy Art Deco restaurants of the time, oh, the sheer glamour of it all. I think you would need a few days to take in all the things that there are to see and read. What beautiful views aswell. Great vlog Jordan.

Hi Jordan, my husband and I lived in Long Beach in the early 80's. We rented a house and could climb on top of the flat roof, it had a ladder. We could see the Queen Mary from our house. It was so cool. Also part of the history of the QM was it was used to bring the war brides to America after WWII. Thanks for your vlogs. I really appreciate them.

My father came home from Europe after serving in France and Italy during WWII on the Queen Mary when she was a troop ship. It was an amazing day when I was able to walk the same hallways!

Long before trans-continental flights, this beautiful ship and others similar to her were “the” way to cross the ocean. The Queen Mary was the ultimate in luxury but eventually became obsolete as more modern cruise ships took her place. When the city of Long Beach saved her from being scrapped many people scoffed that it would end up being a losing venture but after all these years the elegant Queen has become a major tourist attraction. The credit goes to the city of Long Beach, CA and those far sighted people who believed in the potential of converting the Queen Mary into an attraction that no longer sails but can still draw people to her.

Hi Jordan! Since Amy is interested in the Titanic, there is a neat video here on TH-cam on the Titanic Honor & Glory channel where the team tours the Queen Mary looking for White Star Line connections to the ship, (since Conard Line and White Star Line merged after WW II.) That Titanic Cutaway model is also featured as well. A priest actually did that cutaway, I believe he is still working on it little by little. Ken Marshall who does the famous Titanic paintings tours it with them too.
I was adopted at birth but had the good fortune to meet my birth mum in 1992 and know her intimately for the last 25 years of her life in CA. She and her 2 year older sister emigrated from England on the QM in 1947. Every year my auntie would visit her in Thousand Oaks from Boise and they'd go for lunch on the QM and visit their old stateroom B347, just down the hall from the haunted one. I've never visited the ship so this was a treat for me seeing how half of my genes arrived in the USA.

My wife was in San Diego and took a tour of the Queen Mary. When I was a kid I lived across from Southampton and we used to watch her while she was under way on her voyages.
That sounds like so much fun to spend the night or two on the Queen Mary. It's supposed to be super haunted and it sounds like it is. I agree that propeller is humongous. What a beautiful ship. Hope Amy enjoyed her birthday.
