Thanks for the trip down memory lane...I enjoyed seeing this. A few corrections. You mentioned Rosanna as my sister's name, it's actually Rosanne. We never had cats or snakes (my father was terrified of snakes!) but we did have a monkey, a bull, a dog, a goat and a parrot (which you mentioned). My parents moved all four of us girls to Casitas Springs, not just three. (The photo you have of my parents and their three children are of my three older sisters, the photo taken in our prior home in Encino.) I was born three weeks before we moved from Havenhurst in Encino to Casitas Springs. The Purple Wagon shopping center was called Purple Wagon Square and had a big purple covered wagon at the entrance, about 12 feet up, to mark the square. The purple wagon was a nod to Sheb Wooley's 'Purple People Eater'. All of the other facts are correct, just thought I'd make a few slight corrections and adjustments. Thanks! ~ Tara Cash, youngest of four girls to Viv and Johnny
One of my friends met Johnny and June in an airport waiting to board a plane. They were in their senior years at the time, but they were sitting together, holding hands like two high school sweethearts. I never realized he was married before he met her. The man sure led an interesting life! Thanks for sharing it with us, Jordan!!!
The Man in Black. He'd been there, and done that. Good times, bad times. I love the man, his music, and is so deeply missed. Thank you Jordan! RIP Johnny 🕊
I saw him in the mid 70's. Both him and June in a concert in Yuma. I was in high school and they needed ushers for the concert, so I got to see him and June for free. What a concert, I couldn't stop singing their songs after that.
As a teenager in the mid 70s my friend and I used climb that steep hill that you see in the background and roll boulders into Johnny Cash’s swimming pool. My family used to own the Casitas market back in the day. I think Johnny Cash had long since moved from the house, And I never seen Johnny cash in person. True story. Fun times back then.
Thank you! It was nice to see where their house was! I read Vivian Cash’s book I Walked the Line, what an eye opener to her and Johnny Cash’s love affair. I have a very different opinion about June Carter now. She broke up that marriage and family.
There’s a new documentary out about his wife Vivian called My Darling Vivian that covers a lot about his time and the house in Casitas Springs. Worth checking out. He also had an office that’s still standing in nearby downtown Ventura.
My mum met Johnny Cash and June once, while he lived in Australia, in a small town near Stanthorpe, for a few months. She has this amazing story where she ran into him at the music shop. Great vlog Jordan 😁
I loved this vlog. I grew up with Johnny Cash music being played in my house daily. My mom and dad loved him. I can still sing Ring of Fire and a Boy Named Sue by memory.❤ Thanks for bringing back a great memory for me!
This was fascinating to learn about Johnny Cash’s time in Casita Springs, California from 1961-66. I’m glad you took us to see all the different properties: home on the hill, trailer park, shopping center and the stories! WOW. Johnny was in need of help, but there were some good stories from this time period. Thank You, Jordan.
Johnny is one of my favorite country singers. I wish I would have went to see him live, which is saying a lot for me. I've only been to 2 concerts, George Jones and Jimmie Buffet.
This part of Johnny Cash life is so interesting. I had no idea he once lived right there in Ojai with his first wife and family let alone in Encino! It's nice to hear something about Vivian since she was there from his start of his career before he and June were together She certainly put up with a lot. Great vlog and your hard work is definitely appreciated, Jordan.
As a Johnny Cash fan, I loved this vlog! Definitely a welcomed way to start the day. Something pleasant and fun to watch is certainly a breath of fresh air, especially considering all of the nonsense going on in the nation these days! Thank you! You rock, buddy!
Even before/after the death of Johnny Cash ,it took a lot of courage to appreciate great legends like him ,John Wayne , plus many more . I truly appreciate your blog. STAY SAFE .
We went to visit Ojai and had no idea Johnny Cash lived in Casitas. Thank you for the vlog. Ojai was very quaint and picturesque when we went with our chihuahua mix when she was 9 months old in 2008. We almost moved there but glad we didn’t due to the heat and fires & flooding around there. They’re pizza was just as tasty as the Reuben sandwich you had in your hand. Jah’s expressions are priceless ❣️❤️🙏🏻🐕🦺
That was another awesome vlog Jordan. Gonna have the hubby take me on a drive up there. Love Johnny Cash...Ring of Fire a great tune. Im glad Vivian lived a good life. Sometimes the second time around is the best! Sandwich looks good!
That's so cool !! I never knew Jonny Cash had all of this in California with his 1st wife . Roseanne Cash looks a lot like her mother . I always thought she looked just like her dad until I seen her mother . Great Vlog Jordan !! Love it !!
Love it! No wonder why he choose to live there it's absolutely stunning! I met Rosanne at Disney World in the early 90's she was very nice & down to earth. Thanks Jordan!
I just watched the documentary called My darling Vivian on Amazon Prime. It was really good. It showed them building this house. I love watching these videos from Jordan. He’s the absolute best!
Its so beautiful up there and my Dad would always take us fishing at the lake, we would always take the scenic route like you did and my dad would tell us stories, he was a great fan of Johnny and so am I. great vlog
Knew nothing about his life before June Carter. Didn’t know anything about his first wife and children or anything about his parents. That part of his life was between before I was born and was too young to know about him. Learned so much from you. Thank you for sharing this with us. He tried to take care of his family. Glad to know what happened to his first wife. Happy that she got her life back and was happy. Good for her. Really enjoy learning about people and the places they have been. Great job. Appreciate all your hard work. Love you and Jah. Y’all be safe out there with everything that is going on right now.
Hey Jordan, you did it once again! Johnny Cash has always been one of my favorite traditional country artists and you showed me a side of him I did not know. Never knew he lived in California. Always learn something watching your Vlogs!
That was interesting!!! I recently read Vivian’s book and it gave me a different perspective of her/John/June!!! June wasn’t so innocent in the entire affair. They were all flawed people. Vivian had 4 girls to raise through out the affair and she did splendid. She also outlived her ex and wife. She was a beautiful woman, especially as she matured. Merry Christmas!!🎄🎁🙏❤️🤗
Very wonderful vlog my friend. You always explain everything so neat just love to hear you talk because I know that it's going to be a very interesting vlog... stay safe buddy 🙏 for you. Tell Jah I said hello..
Great video big Jonny cash fan . Got to see him and his wife perform at knott's berryfarm . Back in the early 90s.was a great concert . Thanks for a another great video Jordan. I will have to take ride out there.
There was a special about vivan the kids did on Amazon prime. They said he loved animals and were always bringing them home. They even once had a monkey.
Awesome Jordan! I love Johnny Cash. He had a life of ups and downs. When you were describing his house, animals ect. I thought about Elvis as well. All the animals at home. Thanks again!
Hi Jordan such an informative vlog I just loved it not really a Johnny Cash fan but you put such a great spin on it makes me get interested in ! Superb work !!
Gosh Jordan that was awesome, so informative! I didn't know all that. All the great details, really made me feel like I knew Johnny more. Thank you. It really made us feel like we were there with you. . . even driving there. Cheering us up with those two rocks. It was a wonderful sentiment. I appreciate that so much. Oh and now I want one of those sandwiches! 😁 Your the best. Bless you for all your hard work you do.
Hi Jordan, nice views on you're drive out and what a lovely quiet place. It sure does look out in the sticks though. I didn't realize that Johnny gor into so much trouble. Great vlog Jordan.
Wow thank you so much Jordan. Your story telling and vlog is outstanding. I loved the little town and of course Johnny Cash l really appreciate your hard work. That lake looks like a great fishing spot. And I got to see the Jahster.
I've lived in the Ojai Valley all my life and didn't know half the stories ,and my mom was friends of sheb Wooleys wife.also the mosby's who owed a western bar in Ventura , called wait for it the Ban-Dar where Johnny Cash would hang out.
Thankyou for the vlog Jordan, I'm not a reader so i really appreciate seeing the places and hearing the stories, very well told, don't blame Vivienne as talented as he was, can't of been any fun being married to a drinker, great vlog, learnt a lot i never knew about the life behind the performer x
Jordan, I really appreciate your vlogs. The sight seeing is so interesting because I've never been to California and probably never will. Jah is just beyond adorable! 👍😊
I was born in nearby Oxnard, I remember when the Cash family lived in that squalid little slum burg. Yeah, it was bad. (Cocaine Springs) next to Coke View (Oak View) , when I turned 22 in 1979 I moved to Oak View. But we would see the Cash family now and then. Everybody had stories about Johnny.
Ive lived in Arkansas and can see why Johnny would live here! This is the only way I could live in CA again! Grew up in SD. Moved away years ago to the country!
Great vlog as always Jordan love watching your channel. Really enjoyed this vlog. Johnny Cash's music was what made me pick up a guitar myself. I knew that he lived there but I wasn't sure when he moved out there. So glad for your vlogs right now, helps me to forget about all the unpleasantness as Carpetbagger calls it that is going on right now. You and Jah take care.
How interesting was that! Very interesting. How was your little doggie’s day; did he play date ok? I recall when Ring Of Fire was released. Johnny Cash was super well known even far north of Canada where I hail from. I’m glad he got to design the house and do so many things - although it was problematic for those around him. Restless and defiant he had a lot of fun. Thank you for sharing this amazing tour of his home in Casitas Springs. Seeing the trailer park, property, mall and the home was amazing - as was seeing the lake. He truly was a legend. No one will forget him.
The only good thing my dad did for me was to introduce me to Johnny cashs music.every Sunday he'd play his records on our radiogram before our roast dinner
Thanks for this video on The Man In Black Jordan I wish Mum and Dad could of been here to watch it with me. They like myself would of found it informative.

Tara Cash so cool listening about your dad. Your dad and family were very inspirational. God bless to you.

Johnny literally summed up his life in the song & video " Hurt " Trent Reznor wrote it , Johnny owned it. A remarkable way to close out his life.

Enjoy traveling with you , I’m depressed watching all the awful stuff I cannot fix🤯this is medicine for my brain👍👍👍
Very interesting. I didn’t know any of this history of Johnny Cash.
was around there a week ago, and i wondered if youd ever do this spot.. and BAM you do it a week later.
A band member of Johnny 's Gordon Terry and his family lived in that house after Vivianne left. Spent many hours there when I was a youngster.
