I'm really looking forward to the snow basing, and if you do end up doing an ice basing that would be great! I've been looking for good winter base tutorials for my Malifaux Rasputina Crew.
Good stuff Jeff. It's really cool to see how you can transform a piece of cork into something great. One suggestion - show the final product in the front of the video, as that will help provide context on why things are being done. Again, thanks!
Hey, Just finished watching my this video (the first one of yours). Just recently got into painting miniatures myself and found this video for creating bases extremely helpful. Love the step by step process and explanations along with linking material. Easy like and subscribe, looking forward to seeing more from you.
Hey man. There's a bunch of these kind of vids on TH-cam, but I really enjoy your style and aesthetic. I would love to see you do more of these! Thanks for the vid. peace.
Great tutorial! I've seen you use that primer a few times now & it looks good. Do you apply it with an airbrush? Does it work as well if you apply it with a brush? As a newbie painter, I'm not ready to make the jump to airbrushing just yet. Thanks!
What is your suggestion, using this technique as a person without an airbrush? I have only brush-on primer but otherwise think this is a great tutorial.
Still one of my favorite videos to come back to. I hope you are well and enjoying yourself, wherever you are.
22:20 - "If I am a little patch of plants, where do I wanna grow?" That is my favorite part, Boss Ross!
Thanks Ryan! Ross was an amazing talent.
a trick : you can watch series at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching loads of movies lately.
@Emerson Konnor Yup, have been using flixzone for since december myself :)
This was a fantastic break down of the cork base. I appreciate this and your work is inspiration for what will be an Imperial Fists company champion.
Thanks for watching Erik! I've got a series of basing tutorials on deck that I hope inspire like this one did.
Finally a tutorial that shows how the mini sticks in the base. Thank you. And my soon to be built Ogre Tyrant thanks you.
Great result and I always like a winter base with a subtle level of snow on, which looks great.
Excellent tutorial, like the way the base is turning out so far.

Just wanted to drop a thank you for this demo, I just created a killer base for a Bones dragon using this method and it worked like a charm, cheers!

I love it when I find a new great channel! !!
I followed this guide to make a base for the same Reaper mini, it came out so good! Thanks for the video.
Sweet! Did you post it on Instagram? I think I saw it! Nice work!
Yep that was me. Thanks!
I've enjoyed your video's I'm getting back into the hobby and I like your down to earth approach.
Here in Scotland we have loads of Granite with some really cool hues, so just to give you the heads up, I dig this ideas you have.
I like making bases as much as painting the miniatures. I use tree bark (from a dead fallen tree in my backyard)instead of cork, works and looks great.
Ditto! I have what is left of an old dead tree that I use for basing. I also use it's wood for plinths.
I love the look of that base! You just taught me some cool techniques, thank you :)

Hobby people are usually soft-spoken, calming people.
That means something. Having something to go to thats not drugs, is a big advantage for humans.
Thanks Raul. I'm Engineer Jeff, and I'm a hobby person. :)
awesome video ! can't wait to see the rest
Awesome base!
Great piece, thanks for sharing this video.....helped me a lot.

Great Job Old Man! :)

For easy ice and snow effects try applying superglue to a base and dipping it in water until it sets.
Yea Jeff!!!! Nice one buddy!
Thx Coach! We gonna collab soon?
That would be sweet.
Just what I need. Thank you!
thankyou sir. this was extremely helpful!
You're the Bob Ross of miniature making. "Happy little flock..."
Its funny you mentioned that... :) I have to have fun while I create.
howbdo you keep them from chipping? I use cork for mine but they eventually get chipped away slowly
sometimes I'll drip some zap-a-gap on the edges prior to priming, but mostly I just deal with the chipping as it occurs and fix it.
What is your suggestion, using this technique as a person without an airbrush? I have only brush-on primer but otherwise think this is a great tutorial.
You can use brush on primer as well. Just get a deep bodied brush that can hold some paint and go at it!
Nice techniques.
Very nicely done!
Thanks Kirk!
***** I really like those colours, too - it looks quite realistic, something I've been strugglign with on my bases :(
You are boootiful sir. Thanks for the video as always sir.
