    One of the best marble bases I’ve seen. Thanks for the tip on sealing in the pigments, I’ve never seen this before, going to give this a try.

      Thank you! Just make sure to go light on the thinner when sealing them too much and it can wash away the effect

    I was planning to do green marble bases for a custodies army, glad I found this!

    Love it, I’m working up the courage to attempt my first forgeworld model, Roboute Guilliman, and that huge marble base is super intimidating.

      The marble aspect is pretty hard to mess up. the only way I’ve ever done it was by going on too thick with coats or removing the baby wipe too early. If you don’t do those things you should be golden

    Huggies baby wipe doesn't work at all, breaks at even the gentlest of stretches, for those going through brands to find one that works.

      @@theminiaturemen40k I just found some swiffer sweeper dry sweeping cloths lying around, they stretch pretty good.

    That's really cool. I love the green color. Always wondered how to pull off marble. Hopefully not too many hairs stuck to the base when you pulled the wipe off!

      Any hairs that stick easily come off with tweezers

    if you add ardcoat over the marble you can even give off the illusion of it being ... well ... marble ;)

    well, i remove the stencil directly, so the color is still wet and reving the haires is way cleaner and easier.

  • @skippen
    @skippen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great tutorial. I have tried it with varying levels of success. I feel I may not be putting down enough paint during the first phase or my "stencil" is not tight enough (that seems unlikely). More misses than hits right now.

    • @theminiaturemen40k
      @theminiaturemen40k  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I found that in my few misses I wasn’t putting down enough of the gray paint. The key for me was to do more thin coats. I’m sure the stencil is plenty tight

    • @skippen
      @skippen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theminiaturemen40k I think that's it too. I just haven't found a way to to see if my inital coat is "enough."

      @theminiaturemen40k  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, it seems to be more of a feel thing since you can’t see it. I should start counting how many thin coats I do

    have wet wipes changed in last 2 years?
    Ive tried 3 different brands and they all tear now. I used to be able to use them for this many years ago. Dryer sheets still sheer...will try it tonight once dry...
