I have one for two years now and i must say that i am quite pleased with it. It's easy to drive , reliable , with smooth ride and high seat position that makes it very good for trips and i must say a very fuel efficient vehicle. The power for mine 1.8 litter engine is 150 hp and keeps it with dignity on the highway ...thats about all.
I just bought a used one that only had 56,700ish miles on it! I absolutely love love love it. The CVT is great, AC, decent stock stereo, love the 4 bottle glove box, all those bells and whistles (well most of them lol) for $5600 :)
Excellent car. I got the AWD because I sometimes have to drive in snow. The chill zone is kind of useless, but the electric outlet is great. I charge my cell phone while I drive.
my 08 SE caliber is awesome. i also own a 2011 challenger R/T classic. MOPAR OR NO CAR. this is my get to work and back/ road trip car, and my challenger is my date / toy car. and this car looks intimidateing, look at it from the front and you wont think its a hatchback. add some limo tint to all windows and it looks sexy. great gas mileage, crappy power but WHO CARES its a eco car. i love both of my dodge's dearly, good job dodge.
I have owned a lot of cars, such as an Audi, BMW, and a Porsche 911, I've own some American made cars too, by far my 08 Caliber is not a Porsche, but I think it is a neat little car, I think Dodge could have refined it a little more, I Traded in a Chrysler PT Cruiser For The Caliber, I am sure you have some negative remarks about the PT Cruiser as well
You're right meltdown. The constant noise is tiring, even on a short journey. Having rented one of these for a week I was tempted to ask for another car. The Caliber is cheap and just not up to modern car standards. The Corolla gets about 10 mpg MORE than the Caliber. In one week, you can go about 100 miles further per tankful.
I dont like any current Dodge's, but this Caliber I wouldnt mind having. My friends mom had one (until she was divorced and it was taken from her) but it was comfortable, and despite having noisy tires, it was nice. It never broke down in the 65,000 miles it had (thats a feat for dodge on its own). But I like its Bold, kinda Ram inspired styling. And because its a Dodge and doesnt hold its value, In 2 years I could get an 07 for 4 grand!
This is really starting to seem like the vehicle to get. Being 20 years old, I'm looking for something that won't guzzle gas and something I can carry friends in. I haven't seen anything that comes close to this for its price range.
What do you drive? I saw your picture was a Saturn so I was just wondering. I'm considering a few different things, one of them being a 2007 Saturn Aura XR with 6 speed shiftable auto.
Most of these are either repurposed already or sitting in a scrap yard. I see more neons than calibers. I don’t see how it’s a competitor to the matrix or vibe(same thing as the matrix) and it’s the exact same thing as a pt cruiser just shaped better and looks better. I would go with a HHR if I absolutely needed a car right now and I had only the caliber pt cruiser and hhr to choose from
Dodge wants to be clear: None of their vehicles are meant to be cute! They don't care about being cute! They care about providing real vehicles that do the job! DODGE.
lol i am renting one right now. it sucks! the steering is already out of alignment, the CVT is jerky, and visibility is horrible from inside. this caliber makes me miss my civic sooo much, and I'm not getting it back for close to a month!
They also fail to mention the jerky CVT and poor visibility (it feels like you are sitting in a bathtub). It was a good idea, but poorly executed. I am renting one right now while my 04 civic is getting fixed. my civic (which, mind you, has almost 140000 miles on it) drives MUCH better than this caliber rental. if i was in the market for a hatchback, i would def. go for the honda fit or toyota matrix
I have had the RT Front wheel drive for about 12 months, I think its a great little car for the price , I mean the others in the class all look the same ie,corolla, lancer and astra wagon all look the same and are as boring as bat s__t
my dude got one at a action for 2k. I wouldnt waste 10000 on this car lool get a 2008 accord v6 or something. If i didnt need the space i would get a 350z and use the remaining 2-3 thousand to make it way faster.
it's steaming piles of doodoo like this vehicle that caused chrysler to file for bk. Instead of focusing on producing a legit vehicle they decided to put development funds into worthless fluff like the a/c glovebox.

LOL it's trash mine broke down in 90 degree weather driving down the freeway overheating
Air conditioned glove box sounds great for those of us in phoenix AZ actually

All these other comments trying to say it's good lol
I Love My Caliber. I Have A 07 SXT Sport w/The Blue Color Keyed Interior & Only 78K Miles..! #Dodge..!
My daughter is looking at this model now but an 09 with 108,000 how much do you think she should pay their asking $3400

Hi Am looking out for a Dodge caliber- SXT ..or above
I am 17 years old and thinking about to buy one
wait what, theres no air conditioning? ..........
Everything's a muscle car now, huh Chrysler? No more contrasts, just GRRRRRRR ANGRY HEADLIGHTS.
"But they don't want anything scary."
can you make a normal car Chrysler?
😂

And? Did you get this? How was the experience?

"Replace the neon" that's all we need to know
it would be nice if they cancelled out some of the road noise that enters the cabin. it is quite loud.

@imnotaverage There is, but its not standard at low level trims for that model year

Blade Edge i love my Dodge Caliber best car I ever owned a 2011
everyone i know who has one loves it.
Is this supposed to be a Golf rival???

@21forever21 no way. I paid 16k originally. Four years later I had thirty thousand miles on it and managed to sell it for 11,500.
notice 2:56 “while you drive”
😂 few yrs later it’s illegal

Well I own A Claiber and I am enjoying the Car, and I do not go by these so called car expert reviews,
Классный автомобиль владею таким рекомендую.но один минус маленький багажник.
this review is decidedly more vague than other reviews
you sound like my brother;)
I have had the RT Front wheel drive for about 12 months, I think its a great little car for the price , I mean the others in the class all look the same ie,corolla, lancer and astra wagon all look the same and are as boring as bat s__t
You can pick one of these up for $10,000.
I picked up a 2011 Caliber with 7,900 miles on it for that price.
my dude got one at a action for 2k. I wouldnt waste 10000 on this car lool get a 2008 accord v6 or something. If i didnt need the space i would get a 350z and use the remaining 2-3 thousand to make it way faster.
@bbenally88 done.

Opinions are like ass holes, everybody has one
