Hi Kim, This is such a great tutorial and so easy to follow. Your tutorials have been so helpful as I learn valuable tips on my new Scan 'n Cut. Thanks so much!
I bought a Cricut Expressions 2 a number of years ago but have to admit I have hardly used it. What I have always wanted was a quick and easy way to cut out stamped images and downloaded paper pieces. There is such a big learning curve with the Cricut that I felt I could fussy cut the items faster than figuring it out on the Cricut. I have been watching your videos and love how easy the Scan N Cut is to use. I enjoy Bible journaling and like to use kit downloads. This machine we be perfect for that. I literally just took the plunge and ordered one. It will be here on Thursday. I can't wait to get started. In the meantime I plan to continue to watch more of your videos so that when it comes I will be ready to get started. Thank you for your detailed tutorials. They are packed with so much information!
Thank you, thank you. I just purchased a Scan n Cut based on your wonderful tutorials. They are so detailed and easy to follow. Your tutorials are the best by far! I own tons of SU products, and so anxious to try your tips & tricks. I also make junk journals, and do lots of fussy cutting by hand (no more). Keep up your great work!
I’ve just bought a Scan and Cut DX 900 and just love your tutorials. New to cutting this way, you make your instructions so clear and easy to understand. You’re entertaining style keeps me glued. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. On to the next topic. 😊 x
I know this is an older video, but I just got a scan and cut sdx for Christmas so laying here late night watching videos on it so I will be ready to go. If you have any of the wood grain specialty paper that was part of the butterfly bajou suite, its real close to a Popsicle stick color. Thank you so much for sharing.
I never realized I could do so much with the scan and cut. I’ve been spending so much money on the dies. Lol it’s been sitting in my closet for a few years. Time to get down. Thank you for your tutorials!!
Oh no, your poor little ScanNCut. Please let it out of the closet and put it to work. It is amazing and can do so much more than dies. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Melissa. I'm so glad! Thanks for your comment and I hope you subscribed to my channel and that you will hit the bell to be notified of new content.
Thanks for doing these Scan N Cut tutorials. I'm new to Scan N Cut, having used a Cricut previously. Since getting my Scan N Cut for Christmas 2020, I have been playing with it and watching every TH-cam tutorial I can find!! I appreciate that you stamp and then scan and cut, as do I. I have gotten a lot of great tips from you. Keep 'em coming!!
I have thought about a Scan and Cut machine for two years. I am ready to buy just not sure which model. I am not tech savvy at all. And watching your videos gives me such hope! Would this reduce the need for buying so many dies? I know not all can be cut on the machines. i make multiples and this would help me cut time and save on my arthritic hands and decreased finger dexterity. I learn a great deal from your videos. Your style of teaching is easy to understand and like the visual aid as you are instructing. thank you so much.
Susan, you definitely will benefit from a ScanNCut and I'm so glad you like watching my videos. I have to say that it really doesn't matter which machine you like because the older and in my opinion - BETTER machines are not really easily attainable. I still like the CM350 better for cutting stamped images but the SDX has so many more features. I love my CM350 or ScanNCut2 because of its consitency and reliability over the years. If you are going to be cutting fabric, vinyl and all kinds of other materials, then you are better off with the SDX125 because of the Autoblade. You don't have to set the blade depth with the SDX models, they are not as noisy and you have so many features including a lot more editing that can be done right from the machine. The SDX models have MORE features. Please use my links to purchase one even if you don't get the exact one in my link. The links only work for a certain about of time so if you put something in your Wish List and go back, my link is no longer active so please click on it again before you purchase something. It helps support my channel. Brother ScanNCut SDX125E: amzn.to/2LEDLOV ScanNCut2 CM350E: amzn.to/3aPELdh
Great tutorial. I have been learning how to watercolor and haven't used my SNC lately. Need to get back at it. Love your projects and the last one is magnificent. Hugs. Sue
Thanks Jerilee. I think that when you have great products to work with and passion, you can teach about it. My love for these products paired with my ScanNCut crafting buddy makes for some really "COOL" crafts. Glad you are watching.
Randi, I didn't get that stamp set. I showed a sample from my SWAPS when I did my SAB walkthrough video and in my next set of swaps, maybe there will be cards made with that set. I am not going to order that one so I can't demo it.
I had brothers sdx85 and had nothing but problems with it cutting my stamped images. I sent it back within the 30 day return limit. I would stamp images and then scan them sometimes it cut beautifully sometimes it would just go all over and shred my stuff. Is a different scan n cut better at cutting out stamped images than sdx85?
HI, as always very informative. You talk about not having the light shine on the machine while scanning. Very interesting. How far should we take this advice. I have it in a sunny location, would that effect the scan? Should I keep the light (at night) aimed above the machine?
The sun will not matter because it is not direct light. I just noticed a BIG difference when I turned off my Ott light which was pointed sideways at my machine. Thanks for watching.
Here you are. Thanks for asking. The current code is always on the home page of my Stampin' Up! web page listed below. Enter the following host code W3NPA9E3 on any orders placed before February 14th, 2021 paperedchef.stampinup.net/
I was watching myself through the camera a lot but must have slipped up. Sorry about that. I will keep on trying. I have gone through so many different set-ups with my camera and tripod combinations that it is bound to keep improving. Thanks Melissa.
Great Tips as always, one question , Have you ever changed your blade or purchased a new blade , how do you maintain your blade so it keep on cutting good ????
Thanks for watching. You can sharpen your blades. Be careful. I do this all of the time and rarely purchase blades. th-cam.com/video/tjuhKAsURIc/w-d-xo.html
Hi Crystal, I used Two-Way glue. Here is one of my many videos on resticking mats. I have a couple of other products I've tried too but the one linked here is my "Go-To" Glue. th-cam.com/video/Y9wdsgFL0fY/w-d-xo.html
Its an all in one machine. No internet needed but is an add on to do what the cricut does. Depends on your needs. I bought the maker 1st and found out I really needed the scan n cut. I watched Kim's videos before purchasing, she's a great instructor
Oh yes, absolutely Teresa. I have had many Cricuts too. Still do. They are different and both have advantages. The best part about the ScanNCut is how much you can do as a standalone machine - right out of the box. I love it for cutting stamped images. Here is a popular model. I am new to scan and cut DX I have stamped and colored on a Will that be able to be cut in my machine that be in a hole big piece of paper
How big of a workspace do you need for the machine with the mat? Also, what is the difference between the sdx125e and the sdx125egy?

Great information as usual. Will the scan/cut accept svg and pdf files. If so will you do a tutorial? Thanks

What kind of glue did you use on the Matt?
Linda, here is the glue I use for resticking my mats. I like the jumbo tip.

Great tutorial but when assembling the popsicle on the card, you were off camera.
Thanks for letting me know. I thought I was on camera but it is hard to see what you see while crafting.
