This was really helpful! I am new to bow hunting and my outfitter has Fury, Razor & Viper binos. I loved the Razor & Fury, but not the Viper. The Vipers caused more eye fatigue, yet the Fury did not.
I ended up buying the Razor binos and Razor rangefinder because of the quick, light and easy deployment for ranging targets.
Now a Razor glass rangefinding bino w/ AB would be a game changer!

Love your talks! Getting back in to shooting and hunting and starting to get in to longer ranges. Maybe I missed it, but have you done one on the Kestrel or similar products? When to use them, when not, how necessary, options, etc. Thanks!

Looking at picking up a rangefinder currently only long range shooting. Prospective western elk hunt colorado or montana in 2 years where should I start likely be shooting targets at roughly 1000 yds.

For just long range shooting, it's almost impossible to beat the Fury HD 5000 and if you can get the new one with AB functionality on board then that's really sweet. Monoculars are cool, but they're main advantages don't really apply to someone who is just shooting long range.

I own the vortex fury and the distances aren't showing up I have a new battery that I put in but I get nothing. Can anyone trouble shoot this and help me

If you need the optical edge of a standard bino just to spot an animal, how are you ever going to range it with a monocular after you have spotted it?

I guess you would note a rock or tree near the animal to remember it's location when you switch to rangefinder and go off where you remember the animal being even if you can't spot it with the rangefinder.

binos are to identify the size and gender not just seeing its there.. and especially smaller long shot animals like sheep etc.

Any recommendation for primarily bow hunting and 3D, but also using for some shooting out to 400 yards?

Monocular style should do you just fine. The Ranger 1800 would be perfect!

Are the rangefinder binoculars good normal binoculars? Can you turn off the rangefinder display completely? I don’t always want to know range

Absolutely! They would be very comparable to the Viper HD line of binoculars in terms of optics. If you didn't wish to have any display, simply don't press any buttons and it will operate just as a normal binocular would.

Could call shot adjustment better if you had a MOA or mrand scale in the display to measure how for your off

I still don't understand why someone who bow hunts needs a rangefinder? Just spend some time at a football field, you will be able to read distance very accurate.
