This is ridiculous. These are trained military personnel in uniform performing their duty. Warriors. They deserve honor and respect. This is not Disneyworld and the soldiers are not actors. These tourists wouldn't try that in less friendly counties because it wouldn't be tolerated and they'd never be allowed that close. Give these soldiers their personal space. Take your picture and move on.

I am USA born and raised and the way the King's Guards and King's Horses are treated by cretin idiots bothers me. Very disturbing to see so many people who have no respect for anything.
I'm a Kiwi and I've been to Arlington and to the tomb of the unknown soldier and I never saw the guards there treated with the lack of respect that is shown to the King's Guards. When I've travelled I've always respected the culture and customs of those Countries.

I’m beginning to think British have no respect for themselves. Why do you allow clueless tourists to get near your king’s guard? My son is 15 and going to afc Harrogate in the Britain army next year, he always wanted to go coldstream guards and perform ceremonial duties, he changed his mind after watching all the videos on TH-cam of them being disrespected, being seen as objects from tourists, he's now going parachute regiment

Although never at this level, I have worked in security. So I appreciate what these guards do, which is why I would treat them with respect if I were to ever visit England.

The royal guards are not there for decoration, nor for the entertainment of the public. They are real soldiers on full alert. And they demand absolute respect from the public. The fact that in several phases they show great tolerance does not negate the fact that they can capture if necessary.

I'd like to suggest that this tradition of guard is no longer relevant in any way in 2024, especially the mounted guard who sits for hours on top his horse who is expected to stand all those hours taking all the b.s. tourists throw at them. Much less pomp and circumstance, much less visibility would still get whatever their actual job is accomplished, really. And it'd be cheaper. Hello, Charles?
