Justin are your side skirts holding up without drilling/bolting in? Any noticeable movement at high speeds? I really don’t want to drill mine too. I will still use the double sided tape and ribits underneath. Thanks for great videos!

My set should be arriving this week. I'm not drilling into the side of the car either. What size holes do you drill into the underside for the rivets? 3/16"? I assume the front splitter is the same holes?

lol I knew someone was going to point that out. To clarify, I didn't want the holes to be visible if the side skirts ever had to come off. The hole on the side would be huge and quite visible where the ones under the rockers can't be seen regardless.

The Grill i am talking about DOESN'T Drill into anything it is help by miracle tape. The Grill is placed on to protect your C8 from road crap. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.
Buy a Clecko tool and some of the fasteners in 1/8 and 3/16. It will make this type of work so much easier and you will avoid misalignment issues and get a better result every time!
Did you drill the hole install into the side fender or not worry about it

Its awesome as usual for your channe, but the original GM products for aero are wind tunnel tested for downforce. Are these only aesthetic? Side skirts provide a sucking into the pavement downforce while breaking up turbulent air at high speed when configured that way.
These are modeled exactly after the oem skirts. Same shape and size so I would imagine they'd be good for aero as well.

I'm curious. How are the side skirts holding up with out bolting on the side to the vette (i.e did not drill a hole) 6 months later. I'm installing soon, and do not want to drill a hole, but heard they eventually come off if you do not drill the hole. Thank You.
I haven't had any issues so far. I will be switching to the ACS Composite side skirts soon and drilling the hole soon, though!

The side-skirts appeared to be mounted too far back. There was visible red in front of each side, and then it appeared to "hang off" into the rear wheel well. Did this come with a template for positioning?
I read your comments prior, and you commented the factory ones are plastic... I was under the impression they were carbon fiber, then left visible carbon, or carbon flash black painted?
They are not mounted too far back or hanging off. Not sure what you are seeing unless you were talking about before they were actually mounted. The red part of the tape is removed once they are mounted to the car, before then they were just being mocked up to the car. They can only mount in one place, no room for movement. The factory lip is plastic, this one is fiberglass as are the side skirts.
Justin, is there any advantage to putting the expel on the splitter before the install?
Just not having to drive with it on the car unprotected but usually this makes the installation harder when it isn't attached to the car.

Looks great, like the 1 piece splitter way better than the 3 pc version. Side skirts look great too. Our C8 3LT Torch red in transit now. Should be soon.
And can get a very good working air rivet gun at Harbor freight for about $60.00. We have used one in our shop for years popped off thousands of steel rivets. FYI

Watching you operate the drill was pretty freighting. You should have put a bit stop or at least tape on the bit to stop you from possibly running the bit too far and punching a hole in something. The C7 had some lines running under the car that you don’t want to drill thru. Looks nice.

What do u do after u pop the rivet in? U skipped that part. Do u dremel off the piece hanging down ?
Part of the rivet gun snaps off the stick part after it's tight.

Looks fantastic, congrats and have a great trip. Just wondering if it would be better to use install rivnuts and screws instead of rivets for the side skirts. It would take longer but makes its easier to remove/reinstall if needed. Oh well enjoy.

XPEL is a paint protection film that does exactly that. Stops rock chips, scratches, etc. You can get it in 2 major different variants. Clear and in this case, stealth which leaves a satin finish to the paint.

Yeah you just need the collars from Cicio or Paragon to do it. Lots of videos and forums on that. Think the paragon ones are only 100 bucks. Do it and it will look sooo much better!
I already have them, buying them is not the hard part... I get asked on a daily basis if my car is already lowered so it must not look that bad. 🤷♂️

What does expelled mean?
XPEL is a paint protection that makes sure your paint stays in great condition regardless of rocks, scratches, etc.

I don't really see how the Cleco would have helped other than just holding it in place which I had a person do for me anyway. Once they are installed they sit way too low to leave them in there.

For the C8? I got it for MSRP which was 82k. Contact Klick Lewis in Palmyra, PA to get on the list for one. They sell them at MSRP with no markup if you get an allocation from them.

Not sure how the blue tape came into play on this. In a future vlog could you please take a minute to explain that area on the car.
I did explain it in the video. I marked the areas where the double sided tape on the sideskirts contacted the car so I knew where to wipe the adhesion promoter.

I think it is the way both pieces terminate with the "flare". With-out that part of the design i really like the shadow lines and detail it adds.
Great content. In my opinion the add on just looks okay. But looks alittle better on a black c8.
I have seen them on a c8 in person( you just know its not an original part, something looks off).
I prefer the ones from Chevy, they just looks better in my opinion especially on bright colors c8s.
And the c8 is already a super car in my opinion. it does everything you expect from a base super car like the mclaren 570s easily with more tech.
