    Sheri Dew's last words struck me, "follow the prophets, it will be the smartest thing you ever do, because the prophets will be the last safe voices on earth."
    I do trust president Nelson, and I do trust in Christ, that He will lead us in His church through His chosen prophet.

    Question #2 is the perfect antidote to a concern about infallibility. Loved the insider stories! I’m moved 3 fold by the insider testimony. “We are the most blessed of all people to be led by prophets. There are no other leaders like them in all the world…prophets will be the last safe voices on earth.” 🎯 I studied political science and these are my conclusions as well.

    Thank you Sister Dew. What a powerful testimony of prophets, ancient and modern. Learning “the rest of the story” about our prophet is testimony building as we come to trust and revere him. He, along with the other 14 prophets are our standard bearers and we need them now more than ever before. Our eyes and ears are trained on them to guide us through the maze of worldly untruths and confusing interpretations of what is right.
    Thank you again, sister Dew.

    Absolutely love the concept of prophets seeing around the corner, but it a that correct? They enable us to do so, but for prophets there are no corners. I know this is semantics. Maybe it’s because (at first) I found this woman a little annoying, on a personal level, that I make this distinction. But, as time went on, I found her words to be true and my opinion to be judgmental.

      😂 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was literally the only religion on Earth prepared in advanced to worship during the pandemic, because we were already doing so for an hour after each ward meeting with Come Follow Me and the 2-hour block.
      Thus we see God prepares his people and the wicked still rage, lie, and whore after other gods.

    • @MamaJLW
      @MamaJLW ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@clarkherlin1198 Exactly. You mentioned the spiritual preparation we did for the pandemic. I would like to also mention the physical preparation side we are counseled to do, and have been for the last at least 40 years. I cannot remember food storage and emergency supplies ever NOT being a part of Church life.
      This counsel has literally fed my family many times over the years. We used it to stretch our meager money during a loss of employment and while my brother served a mission, as well as providing basic necessities during the panic created by lockdown.
      I opened my last package of toilet paper before it became available again. The morning I went to buy a replacement, I prayed mightily that there would be some at the store, there was. I had a backup plan in place that I did not need to employ. 😅
      This was not a life threatening situation but a quality of life thing. We could have used the tshirt squares and had the need taken care of. It would have been stressful for me to wash them sufficiently but it would have been ok.
      The same thing happened with bar soap, shampoo, feminine hygiene, etc. Our family did not have any panic about food or supplies during that time. I knew going to the store that the Lord would provide. I had made the sacrifice to have those things in the closet for just this purpose.
      As far as I’m concerned, this shows me- unnecessarily- that Prophets see around corners. They open their mouths to tell us what Heavenly Father instructs and leave us to act accordingly. The perfect way to lead.

  • @laurimuse1390
    @laurimuse1390 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Think of the prejudice that Brigham Young had and acted upon. All men have limited views that impact decisions. Prophets are not exempt. We put them on some pedestal with Godlike tendencies and character. Why? Why do we do this? Thsts a question to ask? Why are we afraid to see a prophets humanity? Why are we afraid to say their words are not always Gods words or inspired by God?

      @@clarkherlin1198 Not worried about offending alleged middlemen, they often screw things up with their biases, racism, bigotry, greed and personal views. Go to the source yourself, it is what was intended in the first place. If you read the New Testament with any sense of exegesis or hermeneutics it is clear.

    She is allowing 📚📚📚📚 books that do not align with church Doctrines! I don't believe this is, a wise move to the Lord 🙏🏻 just to have a separate entinty to make money 💰 there are surely other ways then this! I don't think she should allow this to happy ❗ We need to stick to church Doctrine , if Sherrie was following God she wouldn't have had to worry about saving jobs ❗

    Mormon "prophets" cannot see past the end of their nose. Russell can prophesy on length of p.r. videos, but fails on LGTBQ issues, and things of greatest importance to humanity.

    To your question who do I trust to give me personal advice?
    I think depends on what type of advice you are referring to?
    If you are referring to how to educate my child, I’d seek educational scholars of successful times and who have taught educated scholars. I would research educational leaders and pray for personal direction. If you are talking about finances, I’d research highly successful people who are gifted with money management and research sound financial principles and I would pray for personal direction. If you are talking about nutrition, I’d research the best nutritionists we have, study their findings, look at the healthiest people and groups, plus notice how I feel when I eat a certain way, and I pray for personal direction. If you talking about career advice, I’d seek for mentors in my field and I’d pray for personal direction. If you are talking about relationship help, I’d research loving principles of intimate connection and I’d seek therapists to guide me in understanding myself and others, and I would pray for personal direction. If you are talking about health care and what therapies and medicines to use or not use for my particular health needs or my child’s, I would seek out the best heakth care mentors and teachers, read the most scientific and sound books, I would seek those who honor the body as a temple as well, I would compare several ideas and choose the best advice after I prayed for personal direction.
    We must understand that we are lumping the prophets into experts of all kinds. They are to point us to Christ and a personal relationship with Him, they are not our therapists, educational guides, sports coaches, dietitians, financial advisors, or health providers.
    They have a role to guide the Church to prepare for the Second Coming and to lead us to repent, believe, serve, and receive ordinances. We are forgetting their purpose and our own.

      You might want to refresh yourself with Ezra Taft Benson’s “Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet” talk. It disagrees with pretty much everything you're saying.
      All fourteen points were reconfirmed at the October 2010 general conference, twice. Those talks are are titled "Obedience to the Prophets" and "Our Very Survival."
