Julia to get rid of that gap in your tent just lower down the trekking poles a few centimeters. It works every time. Great video by the way. I have been busy lately and have not seen many of your videos. Hope you had fun on the camino with all the other "Peregrinos". That is on my bucket list to go do one of these years. Stay safe but have fun. Keep on hiking!!!!!
I've been contemplating this tent for awhile and just ordered it a few weeks ago. Waiting patiently for it to arrive. Nice to see a fellow lady using one. Looks like loads of room. Looking forward to enjoying it when it arrives!! Heather
Thanks for your comment. This tent has now stood the test of time in the cold British weather and it is excellent. The quality is really good (although I would recommend a ground sheet). Have fun in yours :-)
Thank you for the video! One humble suggestion I have is to adjust the linelock on the guy lines to be as far away from the tent as possible, i.e. make the lines as long as possible. It makes for a more horizontal load on the peg and pulls the tentside more out as opposed to down. Also longer lines gives a more secure setup in strong winds.
A great review of a tent I'm considering getting. I won't comment about the fly clearance & poles/pegs as others have done that and you've seen them, but it IS interesting for me as I'll be buying some lightweight tent poles and want to know what sort of sizes will give what sort of clearance. I already have a winter tent, this would be my warmer weather tent so I'd actually want a bit of a gap. Thanks again for the review.
I've just ordered some poles (rather than using my walking poles) so I will see what they are like when they arrive. I've had the tent over a year now and it has some mileage on it, so I will produce another video explaining all the things I have learned about the tent in the next few weeks. Thanks for your comments - Julia xx
@@atapuma5756 I stayed in it a few weeks ago on a wild camp and the wind was horrendous. The tent held up really well (now that I know to add the tent pegs at an angle!). So yep, it's good in high winds.

Hey just back from a 4 day walk in the woods. I learned one more trick and thought you might like it. Where the inner tent is attached to the exterior fly, right on the inside of the tie-outs on both sides, I was able to shorten that attachment by about an inch, and was surprised at the additional head room that achieved! It really tightens up the whole section of screen on each side. I'm guessing you were packing this weekend as well!
100 Acres hey, thank you so much for this. I’m leaving this Friday for my week long trek in Spain so this is great timing. I will pitch it tonight in the garden and shorten that inside attachment. I see exactly where you mean. Thanks for taking the time to share that tip.
a little :) but the east coast of the US is often hot and humid so I appreciate the cross breeze it can offer without rolling the doors back, especially if you are expecting rain. If particularly stormy or windy I think you could lower the poles and tighren down the points
I set my poles at 125cm for a nice cross breeze. 120cm for normal height & so nobody can see in. 115cm if there is a cold wind, at this height the flysheet is close to the ground on my tent. Hope that helps.
@@TheAdventureGeek Hi Adventure Geek :-) I've just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for your comment Mick95 - I will certainly look at the 4 season inner tent, especially now that we have bad weather rolling in. I'm curious to see how much heavier it will be. ATB - Julia
Thank you for your reply. To my surprise 4 season inner tent seems to come in at slightly less weight than 3 season inner tent! Trail Medic who is a TH-camr comments on it in detail . Special sales will be held next week at Ariexpress. I maybe buy a 4 season one.(^^)
Thanks for the feedback and noted. I now use a much lower setting (I have no idea why I didn't think of that before!), and I will start angling my tent pegs. All feedback is appreciated.
Hi I have got the tent but have only had chance to use it once for 2 nights on a regular site rather than wild camping. It's good. You can lower the height of the trekking poles in bad weather. For the Camino I bivvied using my poncho as a tarp rather than using a tent. More discreet.
Bivvy with a poncho, now that sounds like good fun! I finished the Frances Route in July (hosteling) but now have the Camino bug. I’m a bit nervous as it’s my first time backpacking/camping.
Great job and nice review! I have this tent, you're going to love it! One thing, be sure to seamseal the side tie-outs because they are sewn through. Other than that you're all set with an awesome tent! Keep the vids coming!
If you want to lower the vestibule and protect your privacy, you can put a rock or other weight on the vestibule guyline to pull it closer to the ground.
I think that if you lower the heigh of the two main poles then the fly should fit closer to the ground at the doors. Something to try. Oops, sorry, I see a few other folks have already mentioned that :).
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I am still practising with the videos :-). I love this tent. The speed from China was not as long as I thought it would be and the quality is excellent. The weight and the price was what attracted me to this tent.

Hey, I'm thinking about ordering the tent from China and was wondering just how much you could minimise that gap by shortening the poles? Could you lower it to the same level as the top end/foot end sides of the tent without compromising the shape/integrity? Thank you very much in advance!
bergal hi. Thanks for your comment. I took the poles down to 110 and had a teeny gap at the bottom (so it was nearly on the ground) and the structure was absolutely fine. I use that height all the time now as it’s chilly in the UK and I’m not very tall. I hope that helps.
