I recently got this tent. I'm 6'2" (74 inches) which is 188cm. I can lie down inside and not touch the inner tent by my head or my feet, although it's very close. So I could fit in here with a second person. If I lie diagonally and use it as a solo tent, I have plenty of room. Even if I do brush up against the inner tent, the gap between the inner tent and fly is a few inches, so it isn't a problem. I would guess that I'm about the tallest person that could fit in this tent without sleeping diagonally. It would be snug to have a second person in here with me, and I plan to use it as a solo.
The advantage with this style of tent is that if it is raining you can pitch the outer fly first and then sit under it and clip in the inner tent, and keep it dry (ish), and do the reverse in the morning if the fly is wet. I would love to see some reviews of the tent after someone has actually used it on a hike.
$125 for this tent is incredible price for a UL tent weighing just 1000g, similar tents go for $300-$400, ordered one just hope the quality is good, from the video looks impressive, thanks for putting me on to this.
I'm 5 feet 7 inches. I just set it up in my backyard. There is plenty of room for me inside the tent, sitting up and laying down. There's also room above my head while laying down and my feet close to the edge.
I am 183cm hight and using klimit insulated static v lux mat, and it fits perfectly. Quality of this tent its great, especialy for this price tag. Not leaking even in a heavy rain. Still didn't test it in a strong winds.
This tent is fabulous I recently went winter camping in the Caucus mountains. My partner died during the trjp. The lanshen made a fantastic body. He's still out there near Erabus. I'll go back and get him in the thaw.
I'm pretty sure this is the only Lanshan 2 tent video showing its setup and also close-ups of its seams. Thanks, Packraft Sverige. I've been eyeing this tent for a month now on a few sites such as Aliexpress, Ebay, and I've even seen one on Amazon marketed under the name Crehouse. The price is usually around $100 USD although the Amazon one is around $180 USD. I figure I'll buy one and seal the seams using silicone/mineral spirits mix.
Nice vid thanks. I note that you staked her out in a way that looked wrong but turned out to be right when you put in the poles and additional guy lines. Nice work...
Recently used lakeside and mountain top on a two man hike in the Lakes, rain and wind,no problems, room for gear to keep dry between dry inner and outer shell.
Im way to tall for this... however, what a nice looking tent...the dude that set it up didn't miss a beat...really well done!!! best tent set up video I've ever seen...what a price...wonder where it is made ???
Looks a great lightweight tent wanted to know how does it cope with heavy rain and high wind, I have a Luxe Hexpeak which performs rely well in adverse weather but I may consider the Lanshan 2 tent as an alternative, Thanks for sharing.
Hi. Personally I have not used it in heavy rain yet. But another review of the Lanshan 1 tent tested it in heavy rain and after seam sealing a few spots it became 100% safe.
I just got this but I'm keen to replace the stuff suck with something a bit higher quality and that will compress it more. what size of the sea to summit ultra sil compression sacks do you think would fit it whilst also compressing the size?
Is it possible to pack down this tent with the inner- and outertent attached to one another? This seems like a great UL option for those not wanting to spend their big bucks on a first UL.
Nice tent. I read it is 15D outer and 20D floor nylon. Has anyone experience what that means in regards to durability? Would you need an extra ground sheet? At what denier count is a ground sheet not needed anymore? The tent needs poles. Where do i buy them? (I want it for bike-packing)
Hi, thanks. I bought the poles from bearbonesbikepacking, but they are custom made for another tent. Fits fine for this tent too though. Just a bit too long. Mine are 125 cm but I think 120 cm would be a better fit.
I have seperated the guys for the poles and guys and use two different stakes for them, that way I can use longer guy lines on the poles and therefore get a less steep angle which seems to make the whole set up much more secure in the wind. I cut the door section length (with the door hooks on it) off the original joined guys and tied a loop in the chopped off section to stake it to use for the doors. Means that you need 10 stakes total instead of the standard 8, but well worth it for the wind stability that staking the poles and the doors offers. Great video by the way, thanks for taking the time to film it.
PackraftS, what poles you using in this vid to set it up? Also whats the length of the poles, minus the tip that sinks into the ground? Mine comes in at 1090g (inner and fly w tie outs only).
Length of the poles 125 cm, carbon poles from www.bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/shop/. They are a bit too long if you ask me, 120 cm would've been better or even 115 if bad weather. goo.gl/JxTYk1 will probably be ok if you need some cheap ones.
Rain will not be a problem even with 125 cm. But it can be windy. If it's warm/wet I would go with 125 cm but if its cold and windy, I would rather use 115 cm. 120 cm seems like a good choice in between the two.
Great vid, have you slept in the tent with another person yet? Just wondering if it would make a suitable thru-hiking tent for 2 or feel a bit claustrophobic during long rainy evenings?! Also do you have the dimensions of the vestibules, they look a good size? Thanks again
isn't IT kinda bad that there's such a big opening into the tent? I mean if there's frost at night or somewhat cold it might give a bad expirience if the sleeping bag isnt insulated enough. Or is it possible to get the outer fabric to lay all the way down to the ground?
It's both good and bad. It gives better airflow but at the same time it gets a little bit colder. You can pitch the tent lower if you want a smaller opening to the ground.
Perun you should be relying on your bag to keep you warm and your tent to keep you dry. Warm tent -> condensation -> wet bag -> dangerous in cold weather. If you want a tent that helps keep you warm with less condensation problems, look into 4 season tents. But fair warning, they’re heavy and very expensive.
Unfortunately not. But it would really surprise me if it can not handle rain. Seamsealed and made out of standard silnylon which is tested over and over in rain.
Hey great video!! I've been looking for a "how-to" video to help my customers visualize set-up and this would be perfect! Would you mind if I link/show your video?
Awesome! Yeah, I just wanted to know if there's a possible alternative other than a trekking pole hehe. But you know, the height of your pole seems to be the perfect height. The fly is pretty high off the ground, meaning more ventilation, meaning less moist :D Thanks for sharing!
It is giving me headache to build this. I have never build tent like this and there are no instructions on cords. And mine came witch some blue ropes witch plastic hooks and 2 red ropes....I am lost since the ropes looks different to yours
I just got mine. The two red guylines thread through the lineloc 3 fittings in the the side panels, the sides without the doors. I haven't tried them but my guess is that the two blue lines with hooks are to pitch the fly without the inner tent. They should constrain the proportions of the tent when the inner isn't fitted. Hope this helps.
Could the 2 pieces of blue cordage (~282cm/111") w figure 8 clips either end be to set the distance between side fly pegs out?? Might tie something to the tie outs to do this anyway to take the guess work out of pitching
You can get the 4 season inner tent as an individual purchase. It's about $70 from AliExpress. It might take 2 or 3 weeks to get it, but it's free shipping. You just unclip the mesh, 3 season inner, and clip in the new 4 season, more solid inner and Boom: 4 season tent.
Well, besides the materials, the design is similar, but the duplex doesn't have venting at the top like this tent does and the vestibule closure system is different as Zpacks doesn't use a zipper or velcro. Not sure how durable it is as compared to the Duplex, but with the price difference, you could replace it several times and still break even. It's also slightly heavier than the Duplex. I wouldn't mind seeing these guys put out a cuben fiber version of this and see how much it costs compared to the Duplex.
This tent is double-wall. The Duplex is single-wall. I do have some Z-Packs cuben fibre gear (mostly stuff sacks) and the build quality is not great. So the build quality of this tent is probably better than the Duplex.
Great! How do think this tent will hold up in high winds? The distance from the ground to the outer tent (as you showed in the video) is quite high. I am planning to take it into the mountains and would not like to lose it in the middle of the night, haha.
Yes, but that is because of my (too long) poles. If you pitch it lower to the ground it should hold up pretty good to wind I think. Obviously not as good as tunnel tents or mids, but good enough for most normal windy conditions...
WATCH OUT. 1º-in places with high humidity condensation a lot. The ones in the vid are 125 cm as stated in the description (~49 inches). 45 to 49 would be ok... 45 for more wind protection... Bought from bear bones backpacking. However hiking poles would be better.
I recently got this tent. I'm 6'2" (74 inches) which is 188cm. I can lie down inside and not touch the inner tent by my head or my feet, although it's very close. im exact same height, thanks for your input.
Good Info, always worried because Asian items seem to run small.
hey im 6ft 4 (193cm) do you think i would fit int diagonally?
Daniel Ruff have you used it in rain ☔ & windy conditions
would you still not touch the inner with your head if you lie on a sleeping mat (4-7cm) and a pillow (7-10cm)???
The advantage with this style of tent is that if it is raining you can pitch the outer fly first and then sit under it and clip in the inner tent, and keep it dry (ish), and do the reverse in the morning if the fly is wet.
I would love to see some reviews of the tent after someone has actually used it on a hike.

I bought mine for $88, since then they've raised the price a bit. But still a great price.
Get the tent yet? Thoughts on it?
Where did you buy it from? The listing on amazon looks a bit shady, because it doesn't have any review yet.
Bought it direct from web site , it took a few weeks to arrive, but well worth it, excellent quality, for the price can't go wrong
Hey as of today, Oct 27, 2017, it's listing at $83 USD including delivery. Not bad!
You beat me to it!! I just got mine too. Looks like a fantastic UL tent.
Nice video in showing the set up and attachment points.
Happy Trails.
Would like to ask you the same question as I asked above.
How tall are you and how well do you fit inside?
I'm 5 feet 7 inches. I just set it up in my backyard. There is plenty of room for me inside the tent, sitting up and laying down. There's also room above my head while laying down and my feet close to the edge.
Good video of this tent, I never thought to leave the tent clipped into the fly I always unclipped it and removed it.
Thanks! Btw you don't have to do anything with the seams, they are taped.
Nice! will certainly buy one. Thanks for the review.
Just found out, according to th-cam.com/video/dOjs-rRDztk/w-d-xo.html you will need to seam seal on a few spots.
just scooped it for $100 w/ shipping
Nice vid thanks. I note that you staked her out in a way that looked wrong but turned out to be right when you put in the poles and additional guy lines. Nice work...
Recently used lakeside and mountain top on a two man hike in the Lakes, rain and wind,no problems, room for gear to keep dry between dry inner and outer shell.
Very nice video.
I'll be grateful if you could tell how it holds up in rain.
Thank you.
Unfortunately I have not tried the tent in rain yet. But the seams are taped, I think it will just fine.
Im way to tall for this... however, what a nice looking tent...the dude that set it up didn't miss a beat...really well done!!! best tent set up video I've ever seen...what a price...wonder where it is made ???
Thanks! Made somewhere in China as most other tents.
Close to a year later, can anyone comment on longer term durability? How much use?
My dad spent about 50 nights in this tent last year. It is still going strong.
I looked for the name of this song in the description but couldn't find it. Could anyone tell me what song this is? Thanks.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. I have one on the way. Can not wait to try it out.
Thanks for the reply, Take care Les.
I am planning on making a 1 person one of these for my own personal use
How do you get the vestibule tight? My guideline won’t get tight - too much slack
I just got this but I'm keen to replace the stuff suck with something a bit higher quality and that will compress it more. what size of the sea to summit ultra sil compression sacks do you think would fit it whilst also compressing the size?
Has anyone used this tent for more then a week at a time...? Would like to know...
Thanks! I had some trouble putting it up. Your video helped.
Is it possible to pack down this tent with the inner- and outertent attached to one another? This seems like a great UL option for those not wanting to spend their big bucks on a first UL.
Yes. It came in the mail like that.
Great demo of the tent. I'm seriously considering ordering based on it!
What's the second song?
Thanks :) The song is Joel Alme - A Young Summer's Youth
Nice tent.
I read it is 15D outer and 20D floor nylon. Has anyone experience what that means in regards to durability?
Would you need an extra ground sheet? At what denier count is a ground sheet not needed anymore?
The tent needs poles. Where do i buy them? (I want it for bike-packing)
I would never use a footprint on any tent. If you for some reason ever manage to damage the floor, better just patch it.
Awesome video! Where do u get those pole?
Would you please give me the link of those stakes?
Google Bear bones bikepacking
Love the music in the first bit of this video. I liked it just for that! (Good video too though)
Bro...untuk pemasangan tenda, baiknya outer nempel dengan tanah? Atau memang dikasih jarak untuk sirkulasi udara masuk?, terima kasih
Awesome review. Does pitching with the fly on helps during rain?
Thanks. Yes, the inner is protected during pitching.
Hi, nice detail on the tent. Where did you get the poles? how long are they? thanks.
Hi, thanks. I bought the poles from bearbonesbikepacking, but they are custom made for another tent. Fits fine for this tent too though. Just a bit too long. Mine are 125 cm but I think 120 cm would be a better fit.
Ok great, thanks. Are they light?
90 grams each.
that´s great , thanks
Can u use trekkingpoles?
just ordered one of these bad boys. I was thinking about getting the 1, but the design of the 2 drew me.
As far as i know, this tent didn't comes with poles. What kind of poles that you use there?
I used some custom poles from bearbones bikepacking. But I would recommend normal, adjustable trekking poles set at 120 cm.
Excellent detailed review on this tent..tell me.how has it working for you in all weather conditions?
It needs seam sealing on a few spots, when that is done it is a great tent in rain. Not the best tent in very windy conditions though.
Packraft Sverige the wind: thought of the same thing and i wonder how messy it would look onece the sealer is applied.thanks
I have seperated the guys for the poles and guys and use two different stakes for them, that way I can use longer guy lines on the poles and therefore get a less steep angle which seems to make the whole set up much more secure in the wind.

Packraft Sverige you’re suggesting the shorter pole lengths to bring the fly lower to the ground so less wind/rain can blow in?
Rain will not be a problem even with 125 cm. But it can be windy. If it's warm/wet I would go with 125 cm but if its cold and windy, I would rather use 115 cm. 120 cm seems like a good choice in between the two.
Can you please tell me how high you set you Trekking Poles for this shelter?
125 cm
But I think 115-120 is better.
Great video, am considering getting this at well also. May i know the last song you used?
It's "Halo" by Ane Brun
Can you use trekking poles on this? Also how wide is the inner tent? Thanks.
Yes, actually trekking poles is a lot better than the poles I use. It's built for trekking poles. Width of inner tent is 110 cm (43.3 inches).
Packraft Sverige thanks!
nice tent, only problem is with color white
M H MOHAN there is a green version same exact tent made by the same place. I just bought one on Alieexpress
Hey I just got this tent. And I really like how you pitched the vestibules. Could you share how you did that? I can't figure it out. Thanks
Can you explain your problem in detail? The whole pitch is shown in the video.
Packraft Sverige I see what you did there. Did you tie that knot for the stake in the vestibule guidelines ? Looks convenient
Yes, I made the knot myself, I think it is a better solution.
Love the Lemolo track in the background! Are you from Washington?
It's great! No I'm actually from Sweden. But I heard this song in another youtube vid and liked it alot.
can you set it up with two parts of an paddle too? :)
Yes, you can. But the pitch will be low.
nice, think im going to order one :)
Great vid, have you slept in the tent with another person yet? Just wondering if it would make a suitable thru-hiking tent for 2 or feel a bit claustrophobic during long rainy evenings?! Also do you have the dimensions of the vestibules, they look a good size?
Thanks again
No, only alone. I think it would be a bit tight for 2 people thru hiking. Depends on how big your are aswell. 2 smaller persons would be fine I guess.
Could you post a link to the poles or make recommendations for length
I realize it's pretty randomly asking but do anyone know a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Riley Korbin i watch on FlixZone. Just search on google for it =)
@Augustine Marcos Definitely, have been using FlixZone for since april myself =)
@Augustine Marcos Thanks, I went there and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it!!
@Riley Korbin You are welcome =)
Hey there was a female singer before Joel Alme on this vid anyone know who she is?
Lemolo (song is called open air).
Where can you buy it? Aliexpress site says unavailable, also not available on Amazon.
Search aliexpress for 3f gear lanshan 2. First result.
Thanks, found it.
What type poles did you buy
I just ordered the Lanshan 2 as well! How much did you speed up the video when pitching the tent? It looks quite easy :)
200% :) This was the second time pitching it so yes, its pretty easy...
After have this tent for awhile how is the durability of the tent holding up.
I havent used it that much tbh. I use it only when I need to sleep 2 in the same tent. Hopefully someone else can answer you.
isn't IT kinda bad that there's such a big opening into the tent?
How much does the fly weigh by itself?
556g
Sander Kristensen Thanks
is it stable in windy condition?thanks
It's ok. But I wouldnt use it above tree line.
Did you buy/build those tent poles! Do you know the pole diameter?
I bought them custom made from bearbonesbikepacking (UK)
very helpful video. thank you.
Any updates on how it holds up to rain?
Unfortunately not. But it would really surprise me if it can not handle rain. Seamsealed and made out of standard silnylon which is tested over and over in rain.
Just ordered one. Excited to see how it holds up in Swedish conditions
Let us know.
According to th-cam.com/video/dOjs-rRDztk/w-d-xo.html you will need to seam seal on a few spots.
Nice soundtrack, very nice tent!
Nice one thanks for sharing this tent set-up!! Cheers
Hey great video!! I've been looking for a "how-to" video to help my customers visualize set-up and this would be perfect! Would you mind if I link/show your video?
Thanks :) You can share/link/show as much as you want.
Very nice tent. Where did you get the poles? since it's built for trekking poles. Thanks :D
Custom carbon poles from www.bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk . Trekking poles are better for this tent though.
Awesome! Yeah, I just wanted to know if there's a possible alternative other than a trekking pole hehe. But you know, the height of your pole seems to be the perfect height. The fly is pretty high off the ground, meaning more ventilation, meaning less moist :D Thanks for sharing!
Btw, you can separate the fly and the netting right?
Yes
Thank you! You've just won an award of the fastest youtube comment response time lol
All those lines look like tripping hazards. I trip on lines that are only 1 foot out!
Heya which poles are those?
Custom made. Ordered them from Bear bones bike packing.
@@PackraftSverige Cheers, mate.
Do u recommend the tent after having it awhile
Yes, it's a good tent for the money.
It is giving me headache to build this. I have never build tent like this and there are no instructions on cords. And mine came witch some blue ropes witch plastic hooks and 2 red ropes....I am lost since the ropes looks different to yours
Just figured it out...your video was very helpful thanks
I am struggling with it too. Could you share the knowledge? :)
I think the blue lines are for pitching the tent without the fly... am i right?
looks like the ESVO Sleedoorn
What's the first song?
Lemolo - open air
Never mind, it's Lemolo....sounded familiar
Is this a 4 season tent?
Nah, it's more of a 3 season tent.
Who sings that song?
Lemolo - Open Air
Packraft Sverige Thanks! great song.
Thank you!
Looks like they copied Zpacks Duplex to me. What am I missing?
They probably did, yes. This tent is $88, Duplex is $599.
Lock McKinnon it’s what won’t be missing from your wallet. Sure not as “high quality” or as reputable as a Zpacks, but if it does the trick...
That's very interesting. I will continue to follow. Thanks Scott.
For the life of me i cannot get mine as taut as you do.
Where can I get one?
On aliexpress. Search for 3f ul gear lanshan 2.
Thanks a lot for this video!
How tall are you? I am thinking about buying this tent but I am afraid it might be too small (I'm 185 cm.)
I'm 182 cm. I think you will be fine.
Thanks! Did you sleep in this tent already? 😀
Actually, I did tonight. It was comfortable.
Obviously not as good as tunnel tents or mids, but good enough for most normal windy conditions...
simple and beautiful

Since the inner can be pitched without the fly yes there is separation. You have about 2 inches of separation from inner to fly when properly pitched as a complete 2 wall tent.
Nice Pitch!
Massive gap from the fly to the ground.
Yeah, it's really nice to have this option.
David Stefanovic airflow is why the gap.
It is nice to have the option, but when you want to stop the airflow it is nice to be able to remove the gap.
You can! Just pitch it lower. This tent is made for hiking poles, most are adjustable in length.
Neat. So I can get rid of the gap between the edges and the ground to reduce the amount of airflow when it is cold. Good to know. I want the fly to basically touch the ground when the weather is colder so there is reduced airflow.
According to th-cam.com/video/dOjs-rRDztk/w-d-xo.html you will need to seam seal on a few spots.
If only you could pitch this with the tent coming down closer to the ground.
Stephen Marsh if you use your hiking poles, you can pitch it lower to the ground.

Why does every single review of this tent always in someone's backyard? Has anyone taken this tent on a real backpacking trip?
Probably because no one wants to make tent reviews while on backpacking trips.
Nice video, nice tent. ..... but I'm still a "free-standing" kind of guy.
Mike Neri free standing is nice but leaving the poles behind is a huge weight savings if you already bring trekking poles
Can any one say how many inches the poles need to be?
The ones in the vid are 125 cm as stated in the description (~49 inches). 45 to 49 would be ok... 45 for more wind protection... Bought from bear bones backpacking. However hiking poles would be better.
Packraft Sverige Thanks, how much was it?
I payed 72 GBP for a pair. Carbon.
