Hi I’m from Temecula. Two of my children were baptized at St Catherine’s.
We also went to St Martha’s before there was even a church building. We moved out of CA in 1996. I went back to visit in 2012. I was so surprised at how much the area had grown.
Thank you for sharing your conversion story with us Josh.

Blessed are you sir because flesh and blood did not reveal your conversion to you,it’s because it’s definitely the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit that helped you with your decision I’m so certain about that ☝️🐑🕊️✨🌈

First, there is not a generic term called ''protestantism'' covering everything under the sun. There is ''protestantism'' and confessional lutheranism and nothing else in this context. Second, I 'm sorry to say this, but the roman catholic soteriology (and the most of ''protestant'' also) is indeed pelagian and semi-pelagian. We are saved by grace, through the gift of faith (trust to Jesus' holiness, not ours) in word and sacraments. I 'm sorry to telly you this, I 'm so sorry, but it is amazing how wrong your soteriology is, how much ''deeds-centered''. I 'm happy he left evangelicalism, but I 'm not at all sure he studied in depth confessional lutheranism.

Hey brother, it was the Catholic Church that condemned the Pelagian heresy in the first place. The Confessional Lutheran church was not started by Jesus Christ of Nazareth, so why would your denomination’s interpretation of Scripture be accurate? I am writing a book about the Reformation and have read much of Luther’s commentary on Galatians. He conflated certain Catholic practices with those of the Judaizers, which undeniably connected to what he saw as Pelagian. This issue was amplified by what he saw in Wittenberg. What he failed to acknowledge was official Catholic teaching (and various Ecumenical Councils), and instead he used local (and, to be fair, regional) abuses to represent the whole Church and its Tradition.
With this logic, if at any time in history the Lutheran denomination suffered from abuse or corruption of any kind, even if they do not formally teach such things, then their entire system is open for rejection. Which, no doubt, has happened exponentially. Not to mention Sola Scriptura as a so-called “objective”approach.
Thus, this is the pattern we see to this day. Everyone is their own authority as a result, awaiting the next sin (or apparent misinterpretation) to pridefully propel them into yet another denomination-many of which claiming they’re the long, lost remnant of “true” Christianity.
Just so we’re clear, we cannot do ANYTHING apart from God’s grace. Those that believe otherwise, see the Councils of Ephesus and Trent (Sixth Session Canon 1).

All who claim to be Christian and openly reject Catholicism are “protestants”. The is literally what the term “protestant” means. All “Christian” beliefs that are not in line with the Catholic Church doctrine are modernest traditions of men, yes every single one. Please take time to consider that this may be true, and then conduct unbiased research. As long as you approach the Church with a protestant bias, you will not see the truth of the faith. Put your preconceived ideas aside and seek the truth.
