Why Was Matthew Perry Taking Ketamine? Heart Doctor Analyses Actor’s Autopsy

  • The recent autopsy report on the death of actor Matthew Perry revealed that he died of acute effects of ketamine. Ketamine is a dissociative drug that can provide relief from pain and depression, but it is also commonly used as a recreational drug. In the case of Perry, it seems that he was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy, a controlled way of treating chronic pain and depression. However, the report indicated that high levels of ketamine were found in his system, suggesting that he may have been recreationally taking the drug on top of his therapy.
Cardiologist and heart specialist Dr Sanjay Gupta analyses Matthew Perry's ketamine use in the lead up to his death.
One of the significant findings in the autopsy report was that Perry had coronary artery disease, which contributed to his death. Ketamine has cardiostimulatory effects, meaning it increases heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen demand. In individuals with significant coronary disease, this can be dangerous as it places additional strain on the heart. It is unclear whether Perry's death was solely due to a heart attack that led to drowning or if other factors, such as delirium caused by high doses of ketamine, played a role.
The use of ketamine can have detrimental effects on the heart, especially when combined with other substances or underlying health conditions. Ketamine increases heart rate and blood pressure, which is generally not good for the heart. In the case of Matthew Perry, his decades-long struggle with addiction, including alcohol and drug abuse, likely contributed to his eventual death. The combination of mental health issues, lifestyle choices, and the use of substances like ketamine can lead to the development of heart disease and other health complications.

Even when you're trusting your doctor who was prescribing ketamine for his severe depression. There are so many people out there who think they know more than the doctors. When you are at your end of rope, you're hoping that the trusting doctor you have is doing and prescribing the right thing for you. Unfortunately the outcome was catastrophic.

My dad was a loving father, always worked, never missed giving our mom his paycheck every week for the 30 years he worked. Everyone assumed that matthew was using ketamine as recreation. According to his doctor he was being treated for severe depression and they were giving him ketamimean. According to 1 person who experienced using this drug, It can cause a sense of detachment and body heaviness. If matthew, as stated was in his hot tub, it would have been very easy for him to fall forward and drowned. I would like to see the autopsy report stating was death caused by OD of ketamine or by drowning brought on by using ketamine, then drowning in his hot tub. So many people jump on his addiction when he actually had been clean for some time and according to his family kept other drugs under lock and key. But as always the media always has to sensationalize instead of looking at the facts and causing more pain where there is enough pain already.

Anxiety/depression/pain also leads to early death due to heart attack and stroke, I'm in my late 40s. Depression/pain is linked to inflammation eg heart/stroke/cancer/dementia. I don't like when they use the term "recreationally" for people with addiction problems. Coming from an addiction prone family myself I know must of us haven't been able to take drugs just "for fun". It's not that simple. I can't stand people who can take drugs for fun and then continue their life as if nothing happened. These people often encourage others to take drugs as well because it's "no big deal" for them. They are the worst

Also, I recently had some dental work done where they numbed the whole left side of my mouth and my tongue was also numb. It didn’t affect my speech at all, making me slur. I even went out to dinner afterwards.
