I had to get up 4am (SA show)to get to studio before 7am to write camera cues from scripts that was only fine tuned a few hrs earlier also Continuity and shot caller also cue on cutter. I loved it but totally totally true on how much work goes in. Home time- only 8pm resulting- A takeaway burger and i just plonk on bed (sometimes with that days clothes on)when i got home. I slept so hard I sometimes woke up with drool marks on pillow. I didn't even notice one night when I plonked on my bed that I was robbed earlier that day while at work.😂 I don't know how the writers do it, they never sleep especially on live shows with a studio audience. Crew is totally under celebrated in the 'real' world.
@angelthman if it wasn't for the people behind the scenes the show wouldn't have been as successful as it was. They come up with the characters storyline props and etc.

The dude was a comedic genius when it came to writing, timing and delivery of lines!! I remember clearly when he started talking openly about his struggles during Friends and I was just in shock! I would never have guessed how someone who was apparently in the top of his game was dealing with addiction and sometimes recording while still hangover. When I have a hangover I can barely function… Matthew Perry really was one of a kind. Not just a genius comedic actor but also a brave human being who helped more people than he will ever know just by being vulnerable and honest about his disease. RIP Matthew❤

It's interesting to see how different the process is to UK comedy show writing. Most of our most successful comedic series are written by a single writer or maybe a duo. I loved Friends and it was such a big part of my 20's ❤

Yes, and the part of this where they showed the making of Sound effects, intro/outro scene music playing, or even the many different Laugh tracks that they used. It really is amazing, and maybe the next time i hear FOOT STEPS in a scene i'll remember how they made it.

The level of details in the making of an episode; from things that we likely didn't notice (e.g. coffee display window) to how faint the marking is on Ross's forehead, is spectacular! I tell you thing I've watched Friends over and over again, over the years. It plays in the background, I turned it on when I want something fun to watch, and I've never noticed the coffee display but now, I will go and pay attentions. The stars are wonderful but this crew of people behind the camera deserve all the applause. The long hours, the back & forth of questions/thoughts & creative genius was well well worth. Hope they got paid the pretty pennies.- they deserved it

The great thing about friends is that it feels like meeting up with friends, you have seen them loads of times ,we know what they are like ,yet we still enjoy their company, we laugh we cry, we have fun with them. Never had I been able to watch a show millions of times, knew what was coming, still laugh at every scene, and want to see more of it because it brings back wholesome heart warming memories of my childhood. He will be so missed :/ I’m actually sad, I’ve never been so attached to any characters on tv or movies but friends was different
It really is amazing how much goes into a show that needs to be cut down to 22 minutes. So happy Matthew Perry was part of this amazing team of people. He was everyone’s favorite. We are all blessed to have known him thru friends.

Makes you look at the show so differently when you watch this. So much behind scenes. When watching show it just seems real and you forget sometimes it’s a show and all acting. Etc. They couldn’t have casted better.
NOT to be contrarian , BUT they had I Love Lucy, Beverly Hill Billies, MASH, Cheers, Kramer. I am sure others have their own list. I was just going by witty wholesomeness and humor. I love Outer limits , Night Stalker and Twilight Zone but not same genre. But still good. and lets not forget odd couple. Let us hope there is and will always be more to come.
I'm 50, my nieces are in their 20's and their early teens and we all still watch and rewatch Friends. It's positively timeless. They were funny without cell phones and computers incorporated into the show...imagine that?

A lot of shows in this genre, even when great, show their age over time. Friends, however, seemed to really capture a timeless feeling. It doesn't seem dated. I think that has everything to do with the fact that we see ourselves, or people we may know, in those characters that were brought to life in this great show.
There is so much joy and fun and professionalism captured in this documentary. I even wonder where those people in the audience are now. This is a perfect little thing frozen in time.
This show helped me get through 2020. I grew up loving these people and watching them. When I was 39-40 it was so different but just as enlightening and entertaining❤

I'm so devastated. It's difficult to watch anything with Matty in it. He did so many great things in his life. Friends was just a small part of his ENORMOUS personality. And, even though it was small, it had such a huge impact on all of us. RIP Matthew Perry. We'll always be here for you.
It’s crazy to get this insight into the production of the series. I wonder how many different ways the show could have gone with different jokes and different storylines that were changed during production. I truly love the show - I have probably seen it over 10 times and would not even hesitate to start over again. It gives you joy, laughter and nostalgia and is so heartwarming. For that I am forever thankful of all the people involved - especially Matthew, who made the Character of Chandler so funny, relatable and lovable. May he rest in peace.

Watching this during lock-down 2020 was the initial thing that got me interested in screenwriting. Three years later, I have written at least 6 scripts, and just finalized my first one. Re-watching this was definitely worth my time, and a bit like a full-circle moment. Thank you for uploading.
@@butchieblock9118 it was what happened during the initial very virulent phase of Covid , to try to stop it spreading too much/ quickly. Most of us were all locked in, working from home, etc. (In England ).
The show was genius with Thanks to the script writers & chemistry between the cast. I have been watching Friends since I was 25 & turned to it for comfort ,laughter viewing. Got me through darker times. So sad to realise that Matthew Perry was struggling & suffering behind the scenes. I loved Chandler's sarcasm & related it to our Bristish humour. He was relateable & im glad he was chosen for that part. RIP Matthew Perry 💔😢

I'm really Thankful too! I put Friends ahead of......... Seinfeld, Frasier, Two and a Half men, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Golden Girls, Reba, Mike and Molly.
I find it much easier to go Back and watch reruns of Friends, than say Two and a Half men. To me it's about the comaroderie and positivity that makes it all So great!

I've always loved the props in the show. It was so interesting to me to pay attention to every detail in their apartments. This prop stylist was fantastic!! 💗
I was lucky enough to attend eight tapings over the years, talked with Matthew three times (hugged by him once) and had David Schwimmer dance for me with his leather pants around his ankles (TOW All the Resolutions). I was sitting 10 feet away in a wheelchair (I had sprained my ankle the day before). During the taping, the script supervisor hit my ankle with her podium on wheels (I yelped). A week later, I received a box of FRIENDS goodies (FRIENDS t-shirts, a watch, a lunch box, pens, frisbees, pins, a book, and a pair of sunglasses).
I’ve never seen anything like this. Thank you so much for showing me all the behind-the-scenes work that’s so many people put into my favorite show of all time. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I didn't really discover Friends until Thanksgiving of 2020 when my husband and I split, and I moved out. He used to watch Disney every night. But wow. I was hooked immediately and watch reruns and fall asleep to Friends every night. This show wouldn't have been such a success without all six of them. I can't even pick a favorite. They all were perfect. Would've loved to have been in the audience. Would love to have the entire series on DVD. My only complaint is that I feel the final season was too rushed with everybody settling down with their soul mate, with the exception of Joey, of course. I know their contract was about to run out, but I would've loved to have seen that build up a bit longer. I sooo miss Matthew Perry though. So sad what happened there. He's sooo loved and always will be. RIP Chandler Bing.
Best show ever. I have seen every episode a million times, except the last one. I watched an episode yesterday but I had to turn it off, it hurts too much knowing he is gone💔
I always wanted to be a writer for a sitcom. I think it would be an amazing job. Now that I am watching the set designers, I would love that, too! So much work went into this show, and it paid off. Best show ever. I binge it every year!
The great thing about friends is that you can watch it multiple times and know what's coming next but it still makes you laugh.

Can we just take a moment that the people who got to watch the show live were the luckiest cause you see its one in the life time opportunity ..... And now I'm soo jealous 😅😅
A lot of shows in this genre, even when great, show their age over time. Friends, however, seemed to really capture a timeless feeling. It doesn't seem dated. I think that has everything to do with the fact that we see ourselves, or people we may know, in those characters that were brought to life in this great show.
No agendas, just friends lives.
There is so much joy and fun and professionalism captured in this documentary. I even wonder where those people in the audience are now. This is a perfect little thing frozen in time.
This show helped me get through 2020. I grew up loving these people and watching them. When I was 39-40 it was so different but just as enlightening and entertaining❤
Thank you Mathew perry, my childhood is not what it was without catching you and the others on channel 4 in the UK at 9pm on a Friday to see what you guys were up to next, turns out I ended up being more like you than i could of imagined, thank you for the book, the laughs and for being a friend Amen 🙏🏻

It's a show you can watch every episode again and again and still laugh your butt off even though you know what's coming ! I'm still watching it at 67 !
I don't think I'll be able to watch this show again... It's not even my favorite show but Chandler was my favorite character. Good bye Mathew Perry, and thank you very much. I don't believe in such things but, wherever you are, I truly hope you are at peace.

Each episode becomes a work of art. If only they did not have to be edited to a time slot. Behind the scenes is always fascinating to watch.

I'm so devastated. It's difficult to watch anything with Matty in it. He did so many great things in his life. Friends was just a small part of his ENORMOUS personality. And, even though it was small, it had such a huge impact on all of us. RIP Matthew Perry. We'll always be here for you.
I could watch friends all day everyday. That's since about 96 I started watching and I still find it funny

It’s crazy to get this insight into the production of the series. I wonder how many different ways the show could have gone with different jokes and different storylines that were changed during production.
I truly love the show - I have probably seen it over 10 times and would not even hesitate to start over again. It gives you joy, laughter and nostalgia and is so heartwarming. For that I am forever thankful of all the people involved - especially Matthew, who made the Character of Chandler so funny, relatable and lovable. May he rest in peace.

You put a great cast of actors and actresses together. The whole crew the writers the directors and behind the scenes you all did a great job of putting on a great tv show. There is no finer people than you all. I will always love Friends. Love how you all have treated each other like family. That’s what I love. Love everybody from Friends on screen and off. Watching this during lock-down 2020 was the initial thing that got me interested in screenwriting. Three years later, I have written at least 6 scripts, and just finalized my first one. Re-watching this was definitely worth my time, and a bit like a full-circle moment. Thank you for uploading.

@@butchieblock9118 it was what happened during the initial very virulent phase of Covid , to try to stop it spreading too much/ quickly. Most of us were all locked in, working from home, etc. (In England ).
The show was genius with Thanks to the script writers & chemistry between the cast. I have been watching Friends since I was 25 & turned to it for comfort ,laughter viewing. Got me through darker times. So sad to realise that Matthew Perry was struggling & suffering behind the scenes. I loved Chandler's sarcasm & related it to our Bristish humour. He was relateable & im glad he was chosen for that part. RIP Matthew Perry 💔😢

There were no weak links, and the script had the most well known lines. You can say "Aaaah, unagi" and most people know exactly what you're talking about. I'm really Thankful too! I put Friends ahead of......... Seinfeld, Frasier, Two and a Half men, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Golden Girls, Reba, Mike and Molly.
I was so happy to see this documentary about Friends. It's still my favorite show . I watch it on cable TV on Nick at Night .
I find it much easier to go Back and watch reruns of Friends, than say Two and a Half men. To me it's about the comaroderie and positivity that makes it all So great!
A very unique and successful show with wonderful actors.. I love seeing behind the scenes and I am so impressed with the acting they did, with all those lines and actions, the right tones and movements and facual expressions ❤
I've always loved the props in the show. It was so interesting to me to pay attention to every detail in their apartments. This prop stylist was fantastic!! 💗
it's the first time I see "behind the scenes", I never knew how much insane work is to only make a few scenes, not to mention a full episode 😮
I was lucky enough to attend eight tapings over the years, talked with Matthew three times (hugged by him once) and had David Schwimmer dance for me with his leather pants around his ankles (TOW All the Resolutions). I was sitting 10 feet away in a wheelchair (I had sprained my ankle the day before). During the taping, the script supervisor hit my ankle with her podium on wheels (I yelped). A week later, I received a box of FRIENDS goodies (FRIENDS t-shirts, a watch, a lunch box, pens, frisbees, pins, a book, and a pair of sunglasses).
Wow U r so lucky,.I don't envy but ofc I wish to have had this experience...

I didn't really discover Friends until Thanksgiving of 2020 when my husband and I split, and I moved out. He used to watch Disney every night. But wow. I was hooked immediately and watch reruns and fall asleep to Friends every night.
This show wouldn't have been such a success without all six of them. I can't even pick a favorite. They all were perfect. Would've loved to have been in the audience. Would love to have the entire series on DVD.
My only complaint is that I feel the final season was too rushed with everybody settling down with their soul mate, with the exception of Joey, of course. I know their contract was about to run out, but I would've loved to have seen that build up a bit longer.
I sooo miss Matthew Perry though. So sad what happened there. He's sooo loved and always will be. RIP Chandler Bing.
Best show ever. I have seen every episode a million times, except the last one. I watched an episode yesterday but I had to turn it off, it hurts too much knowing he is gone💔
I always wanted to be a writer for a sitcom. I think it would be an amazing job. Now that I am watching the set designers, I would love that, too! So much work went into this show, and it paid off. Best show ever. I binge it every year!
