That "glamping tent" is a Sprung Structure. Designed in Canada built for high wind loads. I work for that company. I actually work in one. It was designed to be able to withstand our "chinooks" and extreme weather. We will have gusts "In southwestern Alberta, Chinook winds can gust in excess of hurricane force 120 km/h (75 mph)." So when this structure was designed in the 70's it was realized it was a great structure to use in hurricane zones.

Hello was any of the cabs they wheelchair assessable couldn’t fit a scooter
Looks more organized since 2010
Over the years they seem to be cleaning it up a little and trying to make it look more attractive to returning cruise guests.
Another great Vlog! I really like it when you do tours of the cruise terminals. There are some ports like Jamaica where I really don't go outside of the terminal anymore. I've done all the tours and I don't feel safe walking outside some ports where the vendors get very aggressive and follow you
Thanks. I am glad you find these kinds of walkarounds helpful. Working on ships doing these kinds of videos are quite easy for me as I dont work in any of the ports. I will try and make as many as I can each time I get off the ship. 🙂

Awesome video,, I have watched multiple videos of yours now and I feel more comfortable with my up coming trip. I would like to ask if you might have a better picture of the pricing on taxi cabs... I am thinking of taking a taxi to Dunn's River Falls instead of booking through the cruise ship. Thanks in Advance!
I dont have a separate photo of the pricing, Sorry. It is very close to the falls from where the ships dock in Ocho Rios. So I dont imagine the price is thay much for a taxi. Remember too you can share with other people going to the same place. Also. Perhaps check what the ships tour price is, as that would include entrance, a guide and round trip transport.

Thanks for the video! Question: How safe is it to arrange a private tour from one of the taxis inside the cruise terminal?
For me there very safe. They are all registered with the jamaican tourist board.JUTA. as you saw when I walked through there all there to offer there services. You just need to negotiate a price per person for the day. Also check if any places have entrance fees or if its included.
Very safe but they wanted 80 $ for driving less than 2 miles ...for 4 people more far destination are 60 -80 $ per person !!!

I personally prefer the drive from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios.
most of the ships stop in ocho rios really for the shore excursion. specifically to dunns river falls. which is only about 15 minutes away by taxi.

Any where you go close by the pier inited state dollars are accepted. Very few places will refuse them, it's best though to have smaller bills, so if you get change back ots not too much. Some places will give you back jamaican dollars as change. Tou dont want to end with too many before you get back to the ship. I thi k its about 140 jamaican dollars to 1 u.s. dollars.

3 ship can dock in ochi rios
Correct. It would be very rare to see 3 in port at the same time. sometimes, you might see a ship at the sugar terminal further down from Margaritaville.

Pottery is made all over the world.
It is. but in the Caribbean most of the items you see for sale at the hawkers and street sellers stales really aren't locally made. a lot come from china unfortunately.
