Olivia actually mentioned in an interview that the subject matter is fiction even tho it’s super specific. She wanted to capture this universal feeling of seeing ur ex repeat the relationship you thought was special (she obviously worded it much better than I just did) and only used these specificities to enhance the narrative she was trying to portray (and she obviously did a wonderful job) but yes there’s a good chance some of the emotions she was feeling helped inspire this type of song writing though she wasn’t talking about the drama some people are assuming she was :)

I think I’d like it more if it were acoustic. She’s got a beautiful voice and we’ve all had one of those relationships where it’s a paint by number fantasy anyone can fit in.
Since acoustic is more her style, she'll probably release a version soon. But I like this "psychedelic" beat, imo it adds well to the lyrics.

i like that she went this route because when she posted the acoustic version she got so much hate saying shes boring.
