🎼I love the Moody Blues. They were so awesome back then because I was there back then. Met my future husband in January 1970. We’ve been married 51 years. Nobody has a voice like Justin Hayward. Nobody. And nobody can write lyrics and music like Hayward. Thank you Sarah for doing some Moodies.❤️
When I was 10 years old (1967) I picked strawberries for two day (actually ate more than picked) as a summer job. At the end of two days I was told not to come back, and was paid $10. I went and bought my first 45 rpm record - Tuesday Afternoon, by the Moody Blues. I saw them twice in concert - once in the 1980's and in 1992. Still my favorite!🤟❤
Justin Hayward is such a genius. So happy you are enjoying the Moodys. They are a great addiction. Thanks for starting my day with another smile Sarah!
One of their most hauntingly beautiful songs from their album On The Threshold Of A Dream, which is lovely from start to finish. There are so few reactions to this wonderful song, thank u so much for choosing this one.
From 1967 to 1972, The Moody Blues put out 7 concept albums. Fans call them the seven sojourns. Very introspective and creative songwriters. I have many suggestions...Eternity Road. Gypsy, Question, Lovely To See You for example. My favorite is Tuesday Afternoon.
Your reactions are always priceless and spot on. Your uninhibited personality serves you very well in these videos because you really show your feelings with so much soul! It’s a beautiful thing to watch. There are many songs I’d love to see your reactions to. One that comes to mind right now is Gordon Lightfoot singing “If you could read my mind.” I should check if you’ve done this lol. You would absolutely love him.
Keep digging into the Moody Blues Sarah! They are one of the greatest bands ever: innovative, unique, creators of such humane, beautiful melodies…they never lost their ability to move your heart after decades of musical changes! Go from “Tuesday Afternoon,” the long 8+ minute version, to “Your Wildest Dreams,” to “The Voice” to “The Story in Your Eyes.” You’ll have a new voice to sing!
Great reaction Sarah. I love the Moody Blues listened to them in younger years when know when else knew who they were. He has such a unique voice. Dive a little deeper into the Moody Blues they have some great songs.👍👍
The Moodys were recording at the ABBEY ROAD recording studios at the SAME TIME as the BEATLES! Mike Pinder the keyboardist and singer song writer had worked at the MELLOTRON factory and so he REALLY knew how they worked , so much so he taught John Lennon how to use one. Strawberry Fields Forever was one of those songs John Lennon recorded using a mellotron. Mike Pinder was so good he used it LIVE which I am sure took a lot of coordination along with talent!
If you love Justin's voice and painfully gorgeous melodies with compelling lyrics, I suggest Voices in the Sky from the album In Search of the Lost Chord. In fact, I suggest the whole album, and all of the Moody Blues "core 7" albums from the late 60s-early 70s. Dozens of beautiful, meaningful, spiritual songs, some more folky, some more rock, but all brilliant.
Beautiful reaction, Sarah. ❤️ I'm so glad you're finally discovering The Moody Blues. As you can see, they are simply extraordinary. And Justin's vocals are celestial. I think you would enjoy "Question." And for a couple incredible rockers, consider "Ride My See-Saw" and "The Story in Her Eyes." Keep diving deep into these guys. They won't lead you astray. 😏
The Moody Blues have a very long and extensive library, spanning several decades. But I do recommend an often-overlooked gem of theirs from the 90's. _"Highway"_
Not sure if I heard you correctly, but it sounded like you said it was 1976 this came out. If so, it came out in 1969. The whole album is great. This live performance was probably 1976. Please listen to the whole album, "Threshold Of A Dream." I have only 3 albums by the "Moodys," and this is one of them. Now I have to get it out and put it on the turntable. Nice review, Sarah.
I absolutely love this whole album (Seventh Sojourn). It is my opinion that "New Horizons" is the most beautiful song every recorded. Particularly when you find out it was inspired by Justin Hayward losing his father and seeing his daughter born. I highly recommend listing to it.
Moody Blues are one of my favorite groups from the 60's-80's. Love their mix of rock with classical music. Lots of great songs such as "Nights In White Satin", "Tuesday Afternoon", "The Story In Your Eyes", "Question", "Ride My See-Saw", "I'm Just a Singer (In A Rock & Roll Band)", "Gemini Dream", "Your Wildest Dreams", "The Voice" etc. All of their music is great! Many of their records are concept albums & meant to be listened to all at once. Sadly Ray Thomas their flute player & singer passed away in 2018 & their drummer Graeme Edge passed away in 2021.
There are so many more great songs of theirs you need to hear. Do something from the 'To Our Children's Children's Children' album. It's a masterpiece?🤩
A great band from Brum aka Birmingham England some of them lived in Erdiington. The same as me .Have you done a reaction to Moody Blues -- Nights In White Satin [[ Official Live Video ]] HD?This is a class song. all the best young lady and stay safe.
@emmysdaddyguy1083 and "No Fair At All." So beautiful. And as was said on "Monty Python's Flying Circus" 'And now, for something completely different' "Requiem For The Masses."
Justin is still out and about, even on TH-cam, I believe. I hope he pays you and your lovely little sister a hello. You might like his and their "Watching and Waiting" which I think is from the viewpoint of God or Mother Nature, admiring her creation, while longing for a friend to play with.
@@joebloggs396 Love all of Pinder's masterpieces. He was Merlin. I also love playing that piano bit at the end of the voyage. Pretty sure it was that one. Dream?
Should try the Voice, Autumn leaves, Melancholy Man, and most of all the one about thinking of our future and decided that we are really not to blame. Just cannot remember the name. also Gypsy. Nights in White Satin is not as god as these just opinion.
i'm seeing both of the remaining moody blues members in a couple weeks...they have been the "soundtrack" of my life since 67...
Thank you for this reaction. The Moody Blues are a beautiful band. I have loved them for 54 years.

These guys are as good as it gets. Pioneers in every sense of the word. Glad I got to see them live.
I've been in love with Justin since I first stumbled on them in 1970. Been obsessed ever since.

Try Moody Blues "Knights in white satin". Watched them live many times, an exceptional group of musicians.
"On the Threshold of a Dream" Is in my top three favorite albums of all time. I was 17 when this album was released.
The Moody Blues - Their Music was the Soundtrack of My Life.
Been my all-time favorite band since the 60s. Favorite song is 'New Horizons'.
Very sweet little co-star with you on this one...how precious!

There are many Sarah my fav is Question
I love this song , I had a crush on this girl, while I was in high school, in 1970.but she had no interest in me, so I this song relates to me.
The Moody Blues have a very long and extensive library, spanning several decades.
But I do recommend an often-overlooked gem of theirs from the 90's. _"Highway"_
I LOVED this song! At 10 yrs. old I was getting all this music from my older bros and sis's.
Best too listen to the entire album, both sides, when listening to the Moody Blues.
The first "Concept " albums.
Beautiful song, don't think I've ever heard it.
In my youth, I heard that song many times. Brings back memories.
Moody Blues is one of my all time favorite bands! They used to come here (NC) about once a year and I had to go to every concert. Music for my soul!
The story in your eyes! that is it. whew drove me crazy. But this is an album rock band where all songs are good and have a kinda theme.
The Actor is in the same epic style. So many great songs they did though.

Never Comes the Day was not on 7th Sojourn. On the Threshold of a Dream was the album. And you are right, New Horizons is an epic song by Justin.
@@livelaughandlovelong I stand corrected! I've got them together on my phone and haven't pulled out the albums in ages!

This was so good! If you can find a similar live version of Peak Hour by them, you will see a spontaneous dance party break out! So much fun.😊
Try "Candle of Life"
You should react to nights in white satin. My favorite version was their live at Red Rocks
She already has.

@PeterDay81 I watched someone review the live version, but if I recall correctly, the ending "poem" was left off.
@@johntiggleman4686 Yes it was but still a great version.
Education on love
Great years for Great music - try Cherish by The Association!

Totally off topic, but I can't help but see your braids in UConn's Aaliyah Edwards. Top notch women's basketball.
That's an oxymoron
