I would wait on THE FLY, because Scream is definitely gonna release it on 4K. Probably BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA as well. If not them, Kino.
As a movie collector all I target is standard editions without slips.

@994pt4 I grew up in the early 80s with the cover art and poster art. And now I make movies and paint and everything like that. ...So I want the coolest artistic editions and collector sets I can get.... For me, getting just the standard editions is like a car collector saying I love to collect cars So just give me the base model of each one. 🤣
@@AVAPopCulture Child of the 80's here as well...best time to have grown up imho. Also, while I appreciate the artwork of physical releases I'm just not willing to pay 'extra' for it. However, I do collect original movie posters of my favorite films. I love the larger format a poster affords.
Big Trouble/China will get the inevitable 4K so I will wait on that one. I think it's just the bundle (posters, extra slip) for that Killer Clowns 4K that is going OOP, not the initial release itself because that just came out.
@austinwillcut4919 well we can't say for sure on Big trouble in little china because it is a 20th century fox film which means it is under disney...so we'll have to see if Sony has freedom to do anything with it ..
But scream factory has had ot for like 5 years with no 4k...so we'll see...
I don't know on the Killer Klowns...they may be ending everything except the steelbook release...it is hard to tell with scream factory but usually they will just say that the poster or slip variant is sold out, not that a particular release is going OOP...

Geez, The Delta Force is getting a 4K...... I just bought the Scorpion release last year.
I got Promare, Lupin III The First and Big Trouble Little China. Was waiting for Big Trouble Little China to come to 4k but Its seems like it will be some time. Hoping that Sony get's to it sooner than later but being Disney get to decide what get the 4k treatment who knows when it will happen.

Ohh no you blew up the spot. Orbit Is the lowkey spot. Once everyone orders from there they will be sold out of everything just like everywhere else 🤦🏻. Too many people too much demand. Wish these damn studios would make more or shit. Just makes me want to get out of collecting physical just as quickly as I came back into it. Just annoying fighting people for copies of things for every damn release. Sick of it can barely grab groceries things are so expensive

@@80sMadeConsumer me too! that's why I am constantly preaching the gospel of pre-ordering the things you want!!! otherwise, trying to not spend $35-$40 now, can easily cost you an extra 2-3x's that later for the same item

I agree with you about Orbit dvd. Love Diabolik, but I think they've gotten so popular that their constantly backed up with orders. Also Orbit is good at letting you know if there's a slip or no slip. So lately I've ordering off Orbit and another good one is Atomic dvd.

Enjoyed hearing your thoughts and bringing some of these to light. I definitely messed up on Chinatown as that and Primal Fear are the only Paramount Presents titles I'm missing and now I'm going to have to pay a boatload for. Plan on preordering The Strangers and Village of the Damned which I forgot or didn't realize was a John Carpenter title. I may have to try to sell my Arrow Video of Killer Klowns and get the Scream Factory version. I enjoyed that one.
Ive heard Chinatown is getting more released! dont buy it on Ebay yet (im in the same boat with you on it)!! I defintely recommend the 4k on Killer Klowns!
Big trouble is awesome I have the Scream factory and the Arrow UK release! Would be shocked if we don’t get a 4k within the year.
I just got the SF bluray a few days ago and I havent seen the movie in years and I have fallen asleep the last 2 nights trying to watch it...Im gonna have to put it on before 1am here soon so I can stay awake lol.... Id love to see it in 4k!!! I have been trying to collect all the SF John Carpenter sets with the special boxes with teh vinyl and this one is so far oop that it is running 200$ on ebay...Im only missing it and Prince of Darkness....not ready to pay $200 though lol so Im banking on a 4k release!
@@AVAPopCulture collecting is awaiting game something I forget myself can’t tell you how many movies I bought and either found it cheaper at a used store or a 4k gets announced. It’s hard to get everything you missed and stay current!
WHAT sic string was still in stock. Jesus I paid $65 on ebay. Looking up films is such a pain in the ass. No matter how hard you look theres always a cheaper price somewhere else. Hard to even search for these titles directly on the website. If you search 1 wrong word it won’t come up
yeah it is in stock and was on sale for $20 on Tuesday! that is why I decided to start doing these videos here and there because I know it sucks to miss stuff, try to find it, and then overpay if you missed it.... I kinda just target the more exclusive releases instead of covering everything, so let me know if you like this kind of video here and there from me!

Man this has been an expensive week for me. I pre-ordered 8 movies and am waiting for the Opera movie from Severn pre-order. I already spent 700 dollars now this week on Vinegar Syndrome sales and another 300 on Kino Lorber sales.

One movie I thought was way OOP is the Blu-ray of Sex And Fury (1973). This thing was rare way back in the day.

Zavvi doesnt charge at the time of pre order - only when it ships from my experience
Enjoy the video I'm new to collecting and recently got into vinegar syndrome what are the different types of hard cases they have I purchased the Roadhouse one and it had the big box set with a magnet what is the name of that one compared to the other slip cases thanks
@@memphisdale1569 Roadhouse is part of their VSU (Vinegar Syndrome Ultra) line that also includes:
Beastmaster, Showgirls, DARYL, Cloak and Dagger, Six String Samuri, Sidekicks, and Southern Comfort...
Their VSA (Vinegar Syndrome Archive) usually has a solid slip case...
And Their CINEMATOGRAPHE line has big special casing and it includes Last Embrace, Little Darlings, Touch, Red Rock West, Dangerous Game, and Goin South
@AVAPopCulture I appreciate that so Beastmaster and Roadhouse those are the top tier lines vinegar syndrome sells when it comes to their packaging
@memphisdale1569 yes! Anything that is VSU comes in the same packaging as Roadhouse with the magnetic clasp etc...there are 9 total VSU releases...then the Cinematographe releases come in similar style cases as well...those 2 lines are their top of the line releases

LAST EMBRACE is good, not as good as Demme's best movie SOMETHING WILD, which I highly recommend from Criterion

I literally just picked up those Phenomena & Tenebrae box sets yesterday. I already own them both but had no idea those sets were still available from Synapse. I think they’re both limited edition sets of 6000. Great artwork too
Kicking myself for not checking in daily with the Vinegar Syndrome sale. I would’ve totally picked up six string samurai for $20. But like you said, it’s worth keeping an eye on later on like a Black Friday sale. Did you catch the Vinegar Syndrome release of The Sadness? Complete bling buy for me, based solely on the artwork of the slip….i need help 😂

VS basically never sells anything for the SRP price. For example, I believe 5 women for the killer is normally like 27 bucks. I don't think I've ever seen them sell it for 42. I think the only reason they show that price is to make people feel like they're getting deals.
The 4K day is usually kind of underwhelming, unfortunately. We might see Madman, Killer Condom, and some of their less popular stuff. That said, I believe the Freeway movies were in one of the last sales. I would guarantee we will not see stuff like China O'Brien and Dr. Terror. They're too new. Hoping they throw us at least a couple bones and have some vsus or something in the sale. I doubt it based on their past sub week sales though.

Hey AVA, great show, I really enjoyed it. I too picked up Six String Samurai, it was the only VSU I needed. I want Dr. Terrors House of Horrors too, but since it was released in 2024 I doubt we'll see it Sunday. If not I'm just gonna pony up and pay full price, I want it now lol. That artwork on Last Embrace suuuuucks! WTF, in fact I'm not digging the art on that whole line so far other than Red Rock West. Little Darlings was terrible too with the leaves over the faces 😬 .When it comes to Scream Factory, you never know where the truth ends and the tall tales begin 🤔 some of those movies have been going out of print forever. One minute there's only 10 left then the next it shows IN STOCK. I mean, what the hell! 😅 I will say, that double pack with Race With The Devil is a must have, that movie is fantastic! and it's a Twentieth Century Fox title so when it's gone it's gone. I'm not an Argento fan either, I've never understood the love for his movies. I do love Tenebrae but that's pretty much it. I know everyone and their grandmother is looking to pick up that Severin release of Opera, and the artwork is awesome but that movie is soooooo f-ing bad, my God the acting is terrible 😢. I can't wait for Second Sight 's Your Next & The Hitcher, they are two must haves. Also looking forward to Trick or Treat announcement. One needs a second job these days just for physical 😧 Peace!

Crossing fingers Dr Terror is a bone they throw us...they did put some newer stuff out today and they did put six string on sale so we can hope! I think screen factory had a 5 year license run on big trouble in little China and now that's going to be turned over to Sony because it's under 20th century fox, so we'll see....
I think VS desperately needs some releases to the level of Roadhouse, Showgirls, and TCM2 to drop between now and the end of the year if they hope to maintain subscribers next year...

Here's the thing I don't get with VS, wouldn't you think for their Summer Subscriber week they would offer a banger mainstream movie like Roadhouse, Showgirls or The Amityville Horror to entice people to subscribe? I mean who's going join when you're offering movies like the 3 they started out with on day one ? I wish we were getting another VSU this year but it looks like Navy Seals is it. Fingers crossed they give us something great by the end of year.
@erichendershot9780 I think we will get 1 or 2 VSUs before the end of the year if you look in the subscriber info section and read between the lines BUT I have been beating the drum saying they need a few Roadhouse, Showgirls, TCM2, level movies and higher to maintain their subscribers....I went into it with my 10 movies I think VS needs to make VSUs video...they need to step it up a little!

I find most of the Vinegar Syndrome movies they release are mostly trash. Sure if you want obscure B movies then sure but even at $13USD not worth it. I've already run out of room and more and more movies are still coming out and or being made for me to worry about anything from Vinegar Syndrome.
@randybradley4151 they are definitely hit or miss lol... I am such a big fan of how they are saving and restoring films and embracing the artwork and giving obscure and old films life again but I certainly don't get everything lol - I'm picky with theirs...I think they need a few more Roadhouse, Showgirls, TCM2, From Beyond, etc type films or better before the end of the year if they want to keep their subscriber levels up...
I sometimes dread stuff going out of print. if it something I don't care for. I'm fine but if something I care for. that scares me. I bet another online retailer will pick up big trouble in little china in six month or a year from now. shout factory had that title since Decemeber of 2019. so, it a had a 5 year run with shout factory. most titles would last at least 3 to 4 years. some even shorter.
@chrisstory563 I'm sure it will get put out again, but there is always that hint of uncertainty and no telling how long it will be if/when it happens! It is under the Disney umbrella if I'm not mistaken which may put it in Sony's hands so who knows!

As An singelplayer Phycical games myself '
Majority of phycical singelplayer games do not require online connection just to play.
Only to download updates and patches '
The games are also on the disc's even some launch in buggy state.

Got Andy Warhols Dracula from Severin 4K cool set but R version all good stuff cut out my vhs I got from video store when they were getting rid of vhs is X can I get a disc copy of this movie uncut. It’s the type of movie that loses its charm without the cut stuff. Same with Frankenstein and why would they butcher the movies
